I have an 18 inch Weber kettle that I chose as a gift for a job well done at work a couple of years ago. The only upgrade I have is the food grate that hinges up on 2 sides to allow for charcoal tending during a cook. My star grill is a 25-year-old gasser Weber Genesis Silver B three burner with cast iron grate. I replaced the burner tubes once, the temperature gauge 3 times, the flavorizer bars a few times. I keep a cover on it and it stays on the screened in back porch. Every now and then I give it a pressure washing and it continues to perform like it was new. Weber builds a quality product that will give you a long grill life with reasonable care.

On any of your lawn furniture or like the Weber kettle. What I do with mine is I got fluid film and then the 36-in 360 spray straw and you feed it in along the tubing that is making up the main structure of lawn furniture or grills and you spray the inside of the tube with this rust proofer it's lanolin based. Use it on cars primarily but it acts like fry grease on tissue paper. You know me stick a french fry on a piece of paper in the circle just spreads out and it's a grease circle around the french fry. That's what this stuff does and then it keeps the rust from being able to grill or form. It doesn't convert it, but it'll keep those tubes solid for years and years and years instead of them rusting out from the inside which is usually what happens and then you're off to buying a new piece of furniture. 😅

Four years later and viewing this video again for accessories and cover. How well has your King Kong cover held up or have you purchased another? I have a Classic Accessories Veranda Water-Resistant 48 Inch BBQ Grill Cover for Weber Performer from amazon that only lasted about 2 1/2 years and then faded heavily and has started to tear. Curious if anyone else has had better results with a BBQ cover for the Performer with the table since it is an odd shape.

Any tips or video on grilling on a picnic area grill? I moved on an apartment and NO GRILLS are allowed on the patios. I can only use the grills they provide in the complex. They are the picnic are type grill. I have never used that type of grill and don’t know what to do and what not to do. I have watched camping type videos but those fires are blazing. I will be cooking mostly wings, legs, breasts and burgers.

I have a big family...of smokers! I have a weber genesis, a weber 20 in kettle, a louisville 1200 black, a napoleon 16 in torpedo, a bradley manual and a big chief. I use all but the bradley regularly. Sadly my napoleon legend and pit boss 700 have done their duty and been replaced (one tried to kill me) but RIP. I have cooked a briket at least once on all but the two electric cookers. Ribs aplenty, pork butts, burgers, sausages, I'm getting hungry.

Can't wait to see it. I got a little overwhelmed by the number of responses (already got 50) so I need to sort through them all.

How has your king kong cover held up? Just got a Performer and see the king kong on Amazon for $28 w/ tongs and grill brush. Weber cover is $30 right now.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I have the same red kettle and my little one just pushed it over and chipped the paint and dented the lid. Lucky it was not hot. Will be doing this once I find a performer frame 👍 thanks for the video!

Glad I found this channel.. I am in the market and still trying to decide what to get.. Whats the difference between the performer and the summit? and do you like the KJ better than the kamado kamodo?

Where do you find all these amazing deals sir? And is the slow n sear kettle a better cooker than a Weber? Or at least as good?
