What to do in HAWAII: SKYDIVE over HONOLULU with Pacific Skydiving!

- I decided to finally skydive after years of saying “I will do it one day!”
And without any doubt, this has to be one of the best things that I have ever done in my whole life!
HERE'S HOW IT WENT...
►Before I started freaking out…
I kept worrying about the things that could go wrong, I wasn’t sure if I was ready… So, before I talked myself out, I checked-in! As I walked in, I was greeted by happy faces. It was easy to tell the staff love what they do.
►I signed my life away…
It was abundantly clear that skydiving is inherently dangerous, and death was a distinct possibility, but guess what? I still signed my life away! YOLO!
►From nobody to best buddy in no time…
Once the orientation was done, I was assigned to my tandem jump master! He fitted me into my harness, taught me how to position myself during freefall and canopy deployment. After he strapped me up, we went straight to our plane!
►The scenic flight up to 13,000 feet…
The view from the plane all the way up to 13,000 feet was breathtaking, you could see the stunning beaches that line the North Shore from one end to the other. Hawaii is really one of the most beautiful drop zones in the world!
►Ready to Jump...
Brad’s altimeter reading reached 13,000 feet and this means SHOWTIME! The green light turned on, the door opened, and the rush of the wind entered the cabin. It was so loud, extremely loud! One after the other, people started jumping out… my heart was racing! Everything was happening a bit too fast! In no time, we started walking towards the exit! F*ck it’s happening!!! 1…2…3! We jumped!
►The 60 second freefall…
I was swept away by the wind; the earth was spinning! Gravity was pulling me down faster and faster! My mind can’t handle the sensory overload! I can barely hear my own scream! This was the closest a human can get to fly, and I was experiencing it! SURREAL! It was indescribable, totally out of this world! I looked out in the open and it was the best of Hawaii I have ever seen! Oh my gosh, it was bittersweet!
Suddenly the Earth was getting close, I didn’t want it to end… I could see the landing zone from above, it was time for touchdown… Touchdown was so smooth, landing was perfect! I made it out alive! Thank God!!!!
I’ve written down 10 helpful tips for you to keep in mind before you jump out of that plane!
Ready?
1. Choose the “best” skydiving company: Simply ask Google for a skydiving centre with zero fatality! Safety is priority!
2. Don’t party it up the night before you jump!
3. Proper Clothing is fundamental: #OOTD: Comfortable Casual clothes that cover legs, torso and arms are highly recommended. Secure your runners as you wouldn’t want them to fall off.
4. The waivers that you need to sign will freak you out: You might get injured or killed during the activity and it’s not their fault. (yes, unfortunately) You can’t sue them. And even if you do, you won’t win anyway! Scary right? Say a little prayer and Sign that paper anyway!
5. It’s okay to feel nervous! 100 %! : Hell freaking yeah! The more you think about it the worse the fear becomes, so Breathe and stop overthinking darling!
6. Your jump master is your new bestie: Your skydiving partner is the most important person in your life in the next one hour or so, so please be compliant!
7. Catch a glimpse of the plane while you’re spinning in the air: OMG! YES, YOU’RE FLYING! So, open your eyes, soak it all in and savour every moment! Scream! Remember to breathe… Have a good look around, you’re literally on top of the world! Yaaaay!
8. You will get to chill high in the sky: You will be gliding in the sky floating in a cushion of air! At this point, you can just relax and get drowned by the stunning views around you! What a way to chill! What a beautiful world we live in!
9. Lift your legs up nice and high as you touch down: Keep your legs out of the way from your tandem instructor during landing. Put them down only when he asks you to do so. You would not want to go home with a broken bone, right? Perfect landing mate! Don’t forget to grab your first skydiving certificate! You earned it!
10. Buy the video and the photos: CASE CLOSED.
