Thank you so much for this video that you made! It was great with you explaining on what to expect behind the scenes! I’m jumping in a few days, so this was soooo helpful!
My story is that I am a pilot, almost commercially certified. I know some people who used to be jump pilots, and one of them told me that I should go skydiving if they were to offer me a job. It shows that you are into the sport, and willing to make a contribution above and beyond just flying the plane. After 2 cancellations for weather, I finally went up today, and in one word, it was insane. It was cold at 10,000 AGL (13,000 ASL), and of course very windy. There was the initial drop, and then I managed to convince myself that I could breathe. With definite effort, I overcame the sensory overload and soaked it in. Then the parachute deployed (it was incredibly soft, I barely noticed it until I was vertical), and I did some turns and a spiral. My instructor took control at about 1,000' and we landed softly back at the airport. I still can't believe it, but is was the craziest most fun, and unbelievable experience I have ever had. Whenever you have the chance, do it. Get the photo package as well. Your first jump is something you will want to keep in photo and video forever.
I went skydiving this past Tuesday the 26th of February 2020, and it was SUPER AMAZING! I had such a blast on my first jump, I went up a second time 30 minutes later. I honestly feel everyone should do it at least once in their life. One thing I would suggest is to breathe in from your nose to get air into your lungs. Awesome video.
@@splatd7978 You really do feel a drop feeling as you would on a rollercoaster at all. In one split second you have the sensation of just floating in mid-air. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it too much at all.
Depending on what speed the plane is traveling the momment you jump from it determines what you will feel. Faster plane and like me you don't feel the stomach feeling whatsoever. Slower single prob plane and I've read that you'll feel the drop feeling for a couple seconds.
This is probably the most relatable description of sky diving and the sensation, or lack there of that you feel. I love roller coasters, but the hardest part about them is that free fall feeling, when you feel your stomach drop. I have learned to cope with that for the sake of the the rest of the ide being enjoyable. I would love to have the sensation of flying without that stomach drop feeling. Thank you for clarifying that for people like me.
So I've booked my FIRST tandem jump! I want to disagree with your tip 'Don' t think about it'. I'm really excited, but I AM afraid of being afraid, so thinking about it is practically all I've done! I don't want to be surprised or intimidated as we reach altitude, so I try to visualize every aspect; the rush of wind, the view, the sounds, will I be cold- everything. I want to embrace the experience and have no fear! However I do refuse to think about failure, mishaps, accidents or being afraid. Great video, I'm your newest subscriber! 👍

My first skydive I had same emotions you did, I'm like. Pff, easy, not scary at all. Then the door opened up. I went from super chill, to 100% panic and freaking out. Once I was pushed out of the plane and in free fall I was super calm. I'm a skydiver now. PS. The stomach drop feeling you get is when you're accelerating fast. My jumpers 14,000 feet. And he explained everything really thoroughly from beginning to end before we got on the plane. And then he actually reviewed with me one last time right before it was time to go. He’s really calm and funny and his jokes are really good. Really helps you forget about the nerves or I should say it this way. It kind of takes the edge off. And you feel calmer. I was a very first one jumping out of that plane. And as soon as I stepped out it was the most amazing experience ever!!!!!! Especially the explosion of adrenaline and I had extreme amounts of your four that I have never felt before. But he actually asked me if I wanted to get spun around and I had to say yes. One minute goes by and the next thing you knew I got to help him deploy a parachute. My ears were a little bit unequalized but he told me just to blow out a little bit but not too hard and so I did and it works. But I lower you get the more equalize your ears get. I knew that from the beginning that it could happen. It does not hurt at all. It’s like the airplane feeling. I flew through a cloud in the parachute and I did the wild version of the ride. Doing some crazy spirals. Right after my instructor leaned us out of that plane I was hooked and addicted. Mine was at skydive Spaceland Dallas. I really recommend you go there the next time you skydive. They are great. A top rated facility. I’m definitely going back in July or August. I'm not a fan of rollercoasters either but skydiving's great! I can give you some tips before your first skydive. Maybe consider going to an Indoor Skydive Center. There you will get the feeling of the free-fall without the scary height. I did that first and I think it helped with my confidence. Also do not have anything with milk in it before your jump. I made that mistake last year before an aerobatic flight and nearly redecorated the inside of the cockpit! I was super scared before my first skydive but nearly all of my fear was on the ground before the flight. As I got kitted up my heart rate returned to normal and stayed like that throughout the skydive experience. I've since done two more tandem skydives which were just a way of relaxing! You can see the difference in me on my TH-cam channel which includes other so-called 'crazy' stuff like wing walking which I find is just a walk in the park!

Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Really appreciate you sharing this experience with us. I actually came here from your Bora Bora video, But now i am also thinking about skydiving. Thanks
thanks for watching!❤️❤️
Great video, stay safe from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thankyou So much Young Lady, I'll be 60 in a couple of months and am considering this, I'm still not sure!🤔, I've been in a microlight a few times when I was Your age, however, Your thoughts are, well to Me, they don't matter, then!, You've given Me the info, one step closer, Thankyou, Hi, from Manchester UK.
Sameee that’s when I felt nervous too
Another reason you don’t have that falling feeling in free fall is because you reach terminal velocity in about ten seconds.
I’m afraid for the first seconds that you up jump off gulp* and what if the parachute didn’t open 0-0
Lol that was my worry!
Only happend like 3 times in history
Will it help me overcome acrophobia?
No.
Wow. Awesome video hey. I am going to jump 14000ft on Saturday in the Sunshine Coast Australia. I am (a lot) less nervous thanks to this video. 👍 thank you and wish me luck 😂
How was it for you?
CyanideCN- well I have booked in for a 15000ft in a fortnight 🤣👍and I think I have found a new hobby. Awesome thanks..
@@youcandoit7494 That's awesome! I jumped from 13500 feet and I loved the free fall, but when the parachute was deployed my stomach dropped and I felt sick.
CyanideCN- yeah, when he started to turn, I freaked out abit and then got used to it. Good job. Try 15000 next. Worth it
Thanks, im 41 planned to jump 23th april 🙏
I’m also jump on the 22nd of April for my 24th birthday and I’m shitting bricks but let’s do it ! We got this
I think ima go for my 21st birthday 😬
Yas! Highly recommend!

An no there is no feeling of the fall
Thats the scariest part for me. Having that free fall sinking feeling in your stomach for 3 minutes straight. I don't care about the height.
In 6 month from now im going to do it if my dad feel better and im so scared and you are like me I hate rides
BANANA!
I'm going Skydiving this coming Summer😬
You’ll have so much fun!
I feel so much better after hearing about your experience, thank you! It makes me feel more brave. Go for it for my 30th 😬🙌
I'm glad to hear it helped you! :)
Where are you going for your sky dive?
Thanks nice vid
Does you stomach drop like on a roller coaster that's the only thing I can't do lol
Yes but only for like 3 or 4 seconds till you get to velocity. Then it just feels like you're floating and its windy.
I'm afraid for the parachute thing
You are funny 😂
Well thank you! I try😂
Does it feel something in your heart?
Yes I did but I’m not gonna it wasn’t you I know you got it but I wanna was the day I got home and I’ll see what you in you’re going home and I don’t want you the way to go home and I’ll see what I have done and rerrtyir was a way you got me and you
ur science is a bit off
You would get more subs if you don’t show your shoulder like that~
