GREAT advice (everyone that speaks with customers needs to watch this). I HATE when reps repeat the same unrelated thing over and over!

Put this video in every home with kids in Americia ASAP. It is really bad now. I work for a company that verifies appointments for a service their parents seek out. Today over 20 of them hung up on me and when I called them back to explain why I was calling they hung up again. They were looking at their caller id box to let it tell them what to do and say. Kids do not know telephone manners at all and need to learn them and hang up on everyone and it is wrong. They need help or wind up in jail.

I was impressed with the first 45 seconds of your video then you went with smile, a really tired tip. The second tip was a very good one, being "there" for the customer is a great tip, but you raced over it and straight onto do leave dead air, the second tired tips. The fourth tip slow down is the most valuable tip you offer yet once again you go to fast over this point. You do have a lovely style that will very much work for you, my guess is that you could be a good trainer!

Which of the following is not one of the tips for better phone communication given in this TH-cam?
    Multi-task as you are speaking
What is one main way that phone communication differs from in-person communication?
You can’t see the person you are talking to, so you can’t monitor the impact of what you are saying on your listener.

Please immediately get this to ALL households with children. Ettiquette has sunk to a new low and has been bad since 2007-2008. They will hang up on the name or say they will go and get that person and after a minute bank the telephone down. Kids will leave dead silence and never say they are sorry at all. One today I asked for the name of the person and they sat there and did not say a damn thing. They flat do not care at all and do not deserve to have it good if they do not respect workers.

Hi OfficeArrow - thanks so much for this - I was wondering if you'd mind if I used the clip for a training course I'm preparing to run? It's for the charity Helplines Partnership and we train people to respond to people calling a helpline who are in need of support, information and advice. Most of the trainees are volunteers working for charitable organisations within the UK and Ireland. I will of course credit you - please could you let me know if this would be ok? Thanks! Sarah

Make a video of proper telephone ettiquette and that the DNC does not make a right to treat all workers who have to work on the phone like crap. I verify appointments and there is so much rudeness on the phone and people tell us they have the right to be rude when they have this service. They do not. The DNC is not a green light to treat all workers like dirt and people need to have some accountibilty for their actions to phone workers but there never will I think for sure. good video.

Please make a video of proper phone telephone ettiquette for kids. They will hear the name of who I am looking for and bang the phone down fast. Or they will say wrong number over and over and bang it down. Some have even said UGGGH and banged it down. Kids will also once the name is said wont say anything and create dead air for us. Sometimes they will unplug it and then the phone goes dead. Kids really do not care that I have to work and have told me they will never have to work ever.
