- Were predators at war with Engineers ? Do predators have superior technology compared to engineers?

Previously, I believed Engineers technology is superior
to that of predators. However, in the first scene of the new released predator, we can clearly see that yaotcha ships have the worm hole technology which is something we’ve never seen Engineers using. At the end of prometheus David and Elizabeth depart from LV 223 and it’s shown the juggernaut propulses into space. In alien covenant, the same ship arrives to the atmoshpere of the planet 4 as if it went from very high speed to almost a complete.
On the other hand, in predator 2018, the yotcha ships have the wormhole technology which allows them to cut throught space/time and travel to a distant point almost instantly. Wormhole is also called Einstein-Rosen bridge. Inside these special objects spacetime and gravity interact to generate a tunnel that allows to pass from one part of the universe to another, bypassing the intervening space.
So if we compare, how the predator and engineer ships travel extremely high distances, it becomes obvious that predators have superious technoogy because creating wormholes requires deep understanding or space and time and allows to travel bigger distance in less time.
Another proof would be that engineers seem to go to hypersleep which is only need if the journey takes a lot of time. However, just to add a little bit of doubt to it. We don’t really know if these hypersleep pods were used by passengers to undergo very long trip, since the jugernaut needed a pilot who did not go to hypersleep as far as we know. Instead we would be merged with a biosuit and supposedly control the ship. So why would some engineers go to hypersleep but not the pilot?
But that really feels like a stretch so let’s assume that predators are techonologicaly superriour to engineers, since we’ve never seen Engineer ships capable of the wormhole travel. If that’s true, how could engineers create predators as I concluded in my other video which I posted before the release of the new predator movie. The new about information about predator technology makes us question even more the idea that engineers created predators.
If engineers created predators, it’s entirely possible that predators are superiour by design. Engineers could have intentionally made Predators superious to them in an attempt of creating something better than themselves. Just like humans made androids who are basically better than humans in everything, cognitive abilities and physical strength. Imagine if there was a planet of androids who possessed higher intelligence and strength, left alone to themselves they could have advanced way faster than humans, their creators. And eventually androids would probably whipe humans out thinking that they are the next step of evolution which is exactly what David concluded in Alien Covenant. So if we apply this analogy to the engineers and the predators, we end up with the scenario in which the creation youtcha surpased their creators engineers, which explains why predator’s technology is thousands of years ahead of whatever the engineers had.
In the new predator, we learn that the youtcha are able to merge their DNA with DNA of other species. Since engineers are know for their bio experiments with life forms, it’s very plausible that predators leaned bio engineering from their creators. Another detail is that dispite having seeminly distinct apearance from engineers, predators have many similar biological features. Both have two arms and legs, two eyes and one mounth and so on. They both have similar skeletal proportions. So on a broad biological spectrum with massive variation of all existing life forms predators and engineers stand very close, which it makes it likely that one created another or that they at least share the same DNA.
The second theory is that Engineers and predators are rival races that were engaged and maybe are still engaged in a war and we’ll over details in movies that support this idea. This theory does not directly contradict the first one because it’s still possible that engineers created predators and youtcha turned against their creators just like david turned againsts humans. Or maybe after creating youtcha, engineers realized that they made a mistake and tried to whipe them out which sparked a war between these species.
On the other hand, predators could have evolved completely seprately from engineers and at some point in history these species became rivals engaging in an ongoing war.

In the comics, the engineers are clearly and significantly physically superior to predators-they show fights where a predator is simply no match for an engineer. Predators consider them the ultimate trophy.
We do not know that for sure based on a way past his prime predator. Various clans have shown to be bigger and more stronger Yautja.

People tend to forget that, their height are not set at just seven feet. I have no doubt in my mind they're bigger and stronger than that. I wished Shane Black dumb ass would've explored the Hish Qu Ten culture and shown us turmoil between the clans over the human race. @Bob smath I don't think that this technology math makes sense since we as human have A.I. and artificial life forms yet we don't see anything like that in Predator or Engineer technology. Engineer seems to be far superior than humans and predators in my eyes. We just haven't seen any military technology from engineers yet. I can imagine that when they use weapons they win. Black goo is evidence of that. They could have just crash into Predators home planet and bada bim bada boom they are gone and mind you this could be done by a single engineer. I don't think there's bigger flex than that in movies or comics.

Ridley Scott has always held that the Xenomorphs were weapons, so the fact that the Predators have long used them as the ideal prey to face in coming of age rituals is interesting. It suggests that at some point the Engineers unleashed the Xenomorphs on the Predators. My theory would be that the Predators advanced quickly in technology, which combined with their aggressive nature to make them a threat to the Engineers. The Engineers unleashed the Xenomorphs on the Predators to destroy them, but a small portion of the Predator population survived by adapting to fight the Xenomorphs. This struggle against the Xenomorphs then became the focus of their culture.
This would mean there is no "war" between the Engineers and the Predators as we think of it. The Predators already overcame the Engineers worst weapon thousands of years ago, however the process of fighting the Xenomorphs reduced the Predators population and stalled their development so they are no longer a real threat to the Engineers. The situation is stable. Predator hunting parties may occasionally cross paths with the Engineers, leading to violence, but neither side feels the need to try and wipe the others out.
If they wanted them wiped out wouldn't the engeneers use the black goo supstance which would basically dissolve them like acid? I don't think they would go through the hassle of creating xenos when it's much easier to carpet bomb their planet with black goo shells of some kind... Like they wanted to do with us.
Unless the black goo wasn't sent to wipe humans out but sent to turn us to xenomorphs turning us into their army. Maybe they knew predators came here and were setting a trap for their next visit.

Honestly if you have mastered bioengineering you by default have to have mastered most areas of science. Bioengineering required intricate knowledge of chemistry, physics, computer science, biology, etc. Just because they choose to use a bioweapon doesnt mean they dont have other more immediate and effective weaponry. For a race of Engineers the ship intended for earth would most likely be akin to the Pest Control Company truck. Hardly their verson of a nuke. Perhaps thats why the ship didnt have the fastest engine technology. Imagine the Pest Control Guy showing up in a Space X rocket?

My dear fellow, th comics are quite explicit on this subject. The 'Predator' species has had only the most minimal of contact with each other. In fact, only specific individuals have even ever seen an Engineer. One spent quite some time trying to track them down to hunt, seeing their technology as almost, if not, equal to their own, especially their weapons. This one had several run-ins, but only had combat with one, defeating him with assistance. In essence, these two species evolved separately across vast distances from each other, which is shown in this particular comic when he has to travel a number of times, finding remnants of the Engineers on planet after planet, before finding the race themself. The ONLY possible connection is the Xenomorph. The Predators did NOT create them, but in the comic lines happened upon them. The Engineers, on the other hand, were said to be the creators themself, in the comics, of the Xenomorph species. The Yautja (which is what they call the Predators in the comics, and they refer to themselves as such) covets hunting the most dangerous of lifeforms anywhere they find. Upon finding the Xenomorph species, they took it upon themself to set up hunting planets, which they would "seed" with the eggs in order to hunt the resulting mature creature. Whether the Engineers are even AWARE of this fact is never alluded to in the comic line, as far as my knowledge. Nor is it on record that the two species are aware of the other, only handful of isolated incidents of interaction, with a select few individuals. However, the Yautja has recording devices built into his mask and ship, and even if the Yautja is killed, the ship automatically pilots back to their homeworld. So the events of such encounters, however rare, would be recorded in those few individual Yautja databases, and it's possible they share such info with their kin back home. If nothing else, the prospect of "New Game", which is potentially more lethal than previous 'game', would be reason enough to share said info, in an attempt to begin new searches for this prized Game!

If there was ever such a movie, then my guess is that Predators would come to the aid of the human race, as they have already made contact and deemed them worthy on several occasions. NERDGASM!
Engineers deemed humans to be unworthy because of their aggression. The Predators find value in such things, so that's not out of the realm of possibility.

My theory is that the pilot would be put into hyper-sleep in the driver seat, and if something was to happen, he would be awakened by some sort of hyper-beep
I think only one suit for the passenger is made because it keeps him from aging but it also takes more energy to use, since he has to pilot the ship. While the hyper beds don’t use as much energy, and it only serve the purpose to keep the users from aging when making very long trips
I imagine Engineers as being more advanced because of the way they integrated technology and biology in their suits, ships, etc.
Both species can be equal.

The assumption that the Yautja are inherently technologically advanced respective to the Engineers based on their usage of wormhole technology is a large oversimplification, to say the least.
Firstly, If there is no stated evidence that the Engineers cannot match or even exceed the Yautja's travel tech than why would we assume that they can't match it in some way when they are clearly implied to have seeded many planets over incredibly vast distances?
Secondly, Why would we assume that wormhole technology is the ideal choice, in the first place? Admittedly, I haven't seen the newest movie but it seems an obvious possibility that wormhole technology may not be compatible with all types of tech or (potentially) volatile cargo?
There is more to consider but the mere fact that "the Yautja have "X" tech that the Engineers haven't shown to also have means that the Yautja are inherently overall technologically superior" is flawed to say the least. There is no obvious fact that the wormhole tech doesn't come at a price that the Engineers don't consider a reasonable risk or trade-off, for example.

I have a theory the Engineers are masters of bio-technology and the Yautja are the masters of nano-technology based on what I've seen so far in the movies and the comics, and the wormhole technology of the Yautja could allow them to travel to other galaxies, colonized other planets similar to their home world, and find new worlds to hunt on, and the technology of the Yautja could be one step ahead of the Engineer's level of technology.
Due to the lack of wormhole technology, the Engineers are mostly stuck to staying within one galaxy, but despite that their bio-technology is much more advance then those of the Yautja while the Yautja's nano-technology is much more advance then those of the Engineers.
And as for the theory of the Yautja and the Engineers being rival races, I liked that type of theory of them being rival races and my theory is how they become rivals is due to that the Engineers tried to intrude into the Yautja's home territory by force instead of creating a peaceful trade relations with the Yautja and in turn the Yautja fought back against the Engineers forceful intrusion into their territory most likely due to attacking one of the Yautja's colony worlds.
My next theory is that someday the Humans will be pulled into the Yautja's war against the Engineers due to that the Engineers where extremely hostile towards the Humans, and I hope someday that new alien races can be added to mark the beginnings of a new stories where the Humans and the Yautjas finally become allies and had created peaceful trade relations as well encounters with new extremely dangerous creatures, the raise of the Galactic Alliance, and a great final war against the Engineers and their new found allies.

Good theories love the passion Yautja aren’t masters of anything unless it’s being just badass and my favorite alien of all time. Engineers are the most ancient race we know of in this universe they created the humans and had abandoned them. Do you like how mirrored we are in their image? It’s very cold but easy to overlook. The engineer is completely hostile towards anything that is not them and up to including other engineers. That’s a human quality if ive ever seen one. There is no longer an engineer homeworld planet 4 was laid to waste by their own bio technology from the hands of David The number of engineers left is not known but this is not to be confused with a regular engineer. Every engineer we have seen fight so far is a bio organic upgrade of a militarized engineer. But there won’t be a war between yautja’s vs engineers vs humans we as humans are the lowest common denominator. We are prey and a long forgotten primordial version of an engineer from long ago. We ain’t stacked for war with either
Imo, the original engineers had no reason to equip the ships of these black goo hybrids with worm hole technology. If for nothing else, it represents a huge security risk should something go wrong.

I think the dinosaur experimentation theory with the black goo makes sense and would explain the reptilian appearance of the Yautja combined with the Engineers physical traits.
I believe Yuatja visited the Earth and hunted the dinosaurs too which might discredit the aforementioned theory. There is a T-Rex skull on the trophy wall in Predator 2 and I’ve seen a few artists renditions of Yuatja warriors stalking and killing Dinosaurs.
All are fascinating theories.
Yautjas werent created by Engineers , Yautjas were bio engineering by Amengi to look the way they do today because Amengi wanted to use Yautjas in gladiator battles hence why they did experiments to make them look and act stronger
The manner in which the different species travel through space does not necessarily prove superiority, and given the engineers amazing life span is a pretty good reason not to pursue wormhole technology for travel. Would you not get pretty damn bored living more than a quarter million years... sleeping for a thousand years or more during road trips could be very appealing to them.

This is what happens when you try to merge two different franchises together to sell comics and movies. So little thought is given to the differences in the two that you're stuck trying to make it work. This leads to massive speculation and suppositions for worlds that do not exist.
Granted there is fascination with all the science behind the fiction, I'm of the opinion that even though Ridley Scott is a brilliant film maker and idea creator, his science knowledge may be limited and or just not compatible with blending these two franchises seamlessly.
That's not his fault entirely as it wasn't his idea to meld his Aliens franchise with the predator franchise.
I like both franchises and read all the books and saw all the movies but don't need for them to be together and then have to bend light, time and space in order to make them fit. They should not have ever been blended.
Like star wars and star trek should not be together. Like the terminator and war of the worlds or Cloverfield should not be in the same cinematic universe.
We shouldn't be forcing things to work together in order to make money.

Truth is a decease Space Jockey Engineer was originally in the initial Alien film,fossilized in the cockpit pilot seat of a Juggernaut spacecraft with a xenomorph cavity hole in its bio-armor. Suggesting it was infected by black goo and xenomorph. So the storyline of these 3 franchises cosine with each other to form a whole storyline trilogy.

Hey Kroft. could you maybe do a video on how Engineers are born ? You mention in a previous video that the engineers have lost the ability to reproduce and that their lifespans are able to reach 100,000 years and older, but there are still younger engineers present at the beginning of Prometheus implying that they where still giving birth in the last 100-300,000 years.
Engineers seem to be experts in Bio-Technology, and have always be represented as "god-like" not only judging by their physical traits, such as bald and smooth skin, tall and muscular complex bodies, but also from the fact that they created humans. I don't think the Engineers created The Predators because they aren't a representation of them in any physical traits, and most importantly, the Predators don't seem to represent in any means what the Engineers have always wanted us to become and be, which is a peaceful or at least "not-war" species, we know this for a fact because The Engineers send Jesus-Christ to us, and because of the mistreat we gave to him they decided to eliminate us using The Black-Goo. The Predators have another form of knowledge, as they believe in customs, honor, and traiditions of hunting, collecting trophies of a "superior species", etc. Even if The Predator's technology is more advanced (on transportation), they have a more "primitive but complex" way of thinking. I think the Enginneers would be against the predators way of living and as we have seen from the movies they are war-like creatures that work on domination amd hunting, nothing like the enginners. Last thing that i want to point out is that i dont think either one created another, but that they developed on their own obviously and created their technology based on what it was needed for them at the time, it seems obvious that as the predator likes hunting and conquering world that they would create a method to travel through space to find more preys, engineers on the other hand concentrate more on life studies, as they supposely created us and maybe also the people in paradise to study. I have little knowledge in both franchises, but for me the pretators are not after conquest and domination of other species, but more like brawlers that invade territories just for a fight. I mean if they were after conquest they had allready dominated Earth a long time ago

I'd just say Predators are more advanced because just in our real world, progress is fueled by demand..who would want to travel to distant planets to hunt if it would take a lightyear and you sleeping throughout the whole journey. Predators life is centered on this game of hierarchy.. and if you haven't realize every predator installment has new weapons, showing intent to up their game
That's not true, theirs not enough evidence in the series that they made humans, and Jesus wasn't an Engineer, people would have recalled him being a Giant White human, let alone the fact he would be to big to nail to a cross.

@@darrellng7617 TV only one Predator tribe is depicted, having instantaneous travel. The enemies took longer to follow said Predator in "The Predator" and the Silver clan in AvP2, when they sent Wolf, he took awhile to make it to Earth.

When you were talking about the worm holes all I could think of was the movie Event Horizon, it’s one of my favourite SciFi movies up with the original Alien movie and the first Predator movie
I theorize that predators evolved separetly from engneers, because the last engineer says in the original Prometheus script that humans are the only succsessful creation, and those two engaged in a war at some point before life on Earth had begun. The predators were winning and thus the engineers were going extinct. The war was almost over when predators started wondering what creature would they prey on after the war. Hence they created the trilobite, while it was being trasported engineers took down that ship and the trilobite infected The Chosen One thus giving birth to the first deacon. This made it so that engineers could reproduce again, I don't know how but that's what's ritten in the first Prometheus script. The engineers started experimenting with the cloned deacon blood aka the black goo, this led to the creation of humans and xenomorphs. The engineers surrendered to the predators but avoided extinction by gifting to the predators the xenomorph eggs. The predators then used humans and xenomorph eggs to create the perfect prey they were looking for
They havent evolved at all , Yautjas used to look way different then today but Amengi have enslaved them to use them for ritualistic or gladiator battles but seeing how at the time they were weak Amengi have experimented on Yautjas to make them look today the way they do but got overthrown by yautjas

Honestly I just want to see Engineers as these god like beings, who created us and many other species. But I have to realize, they weaponized the black goo. So they can’t be worshiped as god like creatures because they obviously have their flaws. So I’m 100% behind the fact that Predators could kick Engineers ass with their superior technology! Read Predator Fire and Stone. An Engineer decimates an Elder Predator hand to hand. The Predator had to rely on its gear and cunning whilst the Engineer just had it's bare fists, and it was STILL going to lose the fight unless it was saved by a human (using an engineer weapon)
They're not really godlike. They used the blood of an accidentally created being to cause the evolution of life. And they still couldn't figure it out properly.

@RichardStrong86 Yeah I wouldn't say they are godlike either. The Engineers and Predators are a more advanced civilization, like a 2.5 level on the Kardashev Scale. While us humans are at the best estimate a 0.7 on the scale.

You mentioned in another video that the engineers don't like to use up energy hence why they don't talk much. So having cryo-pods would be in line with this idea of saving energy while giving them extended life as well. Perhaps it only takes one engineer to run the ship and they rotate running it as a means of fair play at saving energy within a group. I still haven't seen any factual info that disqualifies the engineer technology from using portal transportation at getting from point A to B, as you described in a Einstein Rosenbridge connection. Even we have gotten to the point of creating that technology today when you consider what CERN is really doing with that electro-magnetic "circular" accelerator. I don't believe they are smashing atoms as they claim because if you know real science history, particles do not exist. Only electro-magnetic fields exist in an electro-magnetic universe.

I like the rival race theory or the idea that the engineers aren't directly responsible for majority of the Lore in the Alien-Verse. Using the Aliens vs Predators sounds more plausible .

Cause the space jockey is an engineer that crashed when his ship was overran with xenomorphs and he was part of the mission to kill humans 2000 years before Prometheus. Scott has no clue what he is doing. Originally Prometheus had nothing and I mean nothing to do with xenomorphs whatsoever and only pressure from fox did he include them. Fox owns the rights to both predator and alien and they have made predators and aliens enemies going all the way back into the late 80's early 90's

I just want Ridley Scott to continue the PROMETHEUS storylines and focus on the engeneers and David. Then after he could make a sequel to ALIENS and completely ignore 3 and 4.
At this point in time I doubt we will. Ridley Scott left so many plot holes in Prometheus and then completely ruined it with covenant by making it a alien movie. And talk about lazy with the shaw and David storyline in covenant. David creating the xenomorph is a really bad idea and I really think he's lost it. Maybe we should have gotten the movie neill blomkamp wanted to make instead.

In Tim Lebbon’s “Rage War” series he often hints that Yautja have acquired their tech from other species.
Would love to see a preds vs engineers movie showcasing their earliest meetings where humans are just backdrop in the story of their struggle. Give us some actual character development of these species we never get that and it would be refreshing and could be used to create more story.

On one hand it’s fun to see how things might be all tied together, on the other, that might feel too “neat.” I personally like a few loose ends and mysteries to ponder in my worldbuilding :).
Great enthusiast commentary as usual from Kroft. The engineers look and act like beings that would have a high aesthetic standard, and they therefore would not create such ugly and ill-tempered beings like the predators. UNLESS it was an accident. It could be that the engineers intended to create beings that were superior to themselves, but they got a mixed bag result that offended them. They rejected the predators, and in turn the predators rejected their makers. Then they became bitter rivals.
I personally would prefer that the engineers not be the makers of everybody, and that the predators evolved on their own, but they are still bitter rivals because they are competing for dominion over the galaxy.

Predators are known for stealing other beings technology and adding it to there own. So just think about it. Millions of years of borrowing others tech and making it there own will make you pretty advanced. There nano tech probably came from a very advanced ancient race who has long since perished.
I don't think the Ridley Scott movies are affected by the rest of the Alien/Predator universe. Thank goodness for that. Except for Aliens and the first Predator movie, it's all been pretty lame.
I thought prometheus was a great origins to alien and covenant (apart from the dumb characters) was great. David is a plausible link to the alien organism. The original films or in a league of their own though.
