- CGRtrailers, from Classic Game Room®, presents the official launch trailer for SKYLANDERS SPYRO'S ADVENTURE from Activision. Gamers will have the ability to bring action figures (of Spyro and Skylanders) to life via some pretty cool looking portal device. A different departure from what you would expect from Spyro, but it is an interesting concept. Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is going to be on the Mac, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii, PC, PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 systems. The release date is set for October 16, 2011. Enjoy!

I just realized this kid finds a toy from a smoking crater and brings it to his his house already to have all the other figures and a portal.
But spyro came in the starter pack

I think he happened to find the other characters like he did with spyro but I think spyro peeked his curiosity the most

There’s hope that Skylanders will return. They never claimed they would stop making Skylander games. In my opinion what they did was every year they would release a new Skylanders. It should’ve been every 2-3 years though. But besides that this game will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I got introduced to Spyro through Skylanders, and so did other kids. So Skylanders gets credit for this.

Memories. My Mom bought this game + the starter park for me as a Christmas present. I played it all day with my Grandmom on Christmas Day. I was 8 at the time. Now, I'm headed into my second year of college. I still have all of the Skylanders! If I have kids in the future, then they'll definitely get introduced to this game.

The moment classic Spyro fans saw the design, they were furious, saying he’s a gremlin, a Mutated pug, and saying he’s ugly, they immediately hated the game without giving it a chance, while I can see why people don’t like his design, come on, his design isn’t that bad…
And just because you don’t like Spyro’s design doesn’t mean Skylanders is a bad game!

Quality has become an ancient term to newer forms of entertainment
It's sad I could never play this, It looked so cool! I never really went into Spyro's origins, but Activision really fixed him from being a polygon mess. I mean, Sony was...good... at making games back then, but if Spyro was not taken and used, he would have been forgotten sooner than the franchise Skylanders was over. Sony's games these days are a big mess, and Activision kept Skylanders alive whilst also keeping Spyro as an important character. He was a guide in imaginators and a few other games, he was a ( mostly ) main character in the Netflix series ( though it was not that great ), and was the original dragon in the games. Looking back 7 years ago on this game really gets me nostalgic, since I played skylanders Giants and every other game that followed.
Have you seen the Spyro reignited trilogy? Looks great, and brings the classics back to life with up to date classics. Very similar to the remastered crash bandicoot games (which I bought the other day and has been remastered fantastically). This first Skylanders game I actually enjoyed, but then they milked the franchise keeping the same villian on each new installment, making the sequels really boring.

I know a lot of people hate dthis game because they just used Spyro as a marketing term, but oh my god I loved this game as a kid! I would beg my mom to take me to walmart so I could buy the figures!

The nostalgia of using toys to play games. It starts off with wonder and you slowly realise how much money you need to play these games. That aside I have great memories of collecting them all when the waves came out

man, as expensive as this game's gimmick was it really does remind me of some of the best parts of my childhood. i remember the sheer excitement i felt when i finally got the starter pack for the wii and i swear i played this game for hours between school days. i still have a few of my favorite skylanders from the original and giants series but i ended up giving away the game, portal, and most of the skylanders i had to my cousin.
