OMG, I didn't realize he passed away in May, 2022. What a fantastic player! Outrageous. I would to learn to play in his style. I love it how he got the Merle Travis groove going on. We lost a treasure. Hats off gentleman. R.I.P.
About ten years ago I was looking for new things to play on the guitar and I came across this guy, for a person raised on a strict diet of hendrix and indy it was revelatory. been trying to thumb pick ever since, almost there but I revisit this guy for ultimate goals
In the past couple of years i've been waching this video every once in a while and every time i'm on it, i gotta play it a few times, can't stop looking at Thom playing it so naturally and that thick sound... A delightful
Just heard the news Thom . Devistated to hear you are gone !! So gutted love your music and your style nobody like you . God has gained an Amazing entertainer and a great spirit . Roll on buddy with dad Merle and Chet . R.I.P always 😥X
This video sends me down a retrospective wormhole thinking of its origins and how they brought it all the way to this moment. At that point in time, TB had it so down!! the best bits are so effortless and effective. To top it off, I get to endlessly watch him play it, whichever part I want, in slow motion.. what a lucky life. Thanks for the music ❤️
I remember that guitar from a home video from '97 where Jerry Reed stopped by to visit a friend. Now I finally know who that mystery friend was after all these years.
Hey thom, your old man wouldn't amount to a pimple on your ass. You are right up there with the best of the best! And you're a nice guy with a wonderful sense of humor.
I would give anything to play guitar with you Mr. Bresh. I grew up listening to you, Chet Atkins, your dad, Jerry Reed, Willie Nelson, Doc Watson. I can play guitar rag, but there are a couple notes im missing wish you could show me. but you sound great and are part of my inspiration to fingerpick. Thank you. P.S. how do I get a C.G.P. pin? always wanted one. Kenneth E. Fox

I love it! It's among my lifelong favorites. Not a snowball's chance I'll ever be able to play it, but I sure do enjoy watching you do all the work.
Great as usual Thom. I miss hanging with you and Nokie out in the AZ desert, glad you are back home in Nashville and sounding great. Larry

Une pensée pour Merle TRAVIS ....bonjour de la France...
That cackle! I recognize a fellow lurker for miles....
Yes Sir !

Impressive! what's the name of the song?
if this don't make your feet move, you ain't been born yet
Que modelo de guitarra es?
Is there a Thom thumb to continue the Travis legacy?
Yes. Quiet literally. Tommy emmanuel.
its time for you to listen some old blues artists, like Blind Blake... it's rag time legacy, merle travis just use it on his playing.
Sylvester Weaver ?
Any chance of a video like this of Start Even?
Great playing, but those newfangled acoustics don't sound like a Super 400.
qny miracle to get tab for free
but don't like the slow bass riff in the middle ruins the rhythm
Likes are at less than 1%. What gives here? Must be laziness.
Or maybe it’s a 100% like rate, but everyone watches it 100 times.
wow that is so damn cool
