As for break-in, you're way better off running a good quality mineral 2 cycle oil instead of synthetic. The rings will seat better and quicker. Also, you don't need that many heat cycles. Maybe one or two at most and then run it. I worked on small engines for 35 years and every piece of 2 cycle equipment from the cheap Poulan's to expensive commercial grade Stihl's, Husqvarna's, Zenoah's, Echo's, Shindaiwa's etc... were all run full bore off the shelf with absolutely no problems. And the commercial guys beat the living hell out of their equipment and they keep on going even in the hottest of summer heat. I fly giant scale RC planes and my very expensive Desert Aircraft engine was only run long enough for a range check and then I flew it like I stole it and it's over 10 years old and still runs like a champ!

Welcome to the world of 5b bud. Just please get rid of that crappy exhaust. All it's gonna do is melt your plastics. Gtb has a nice box style exhaust that's much nicer than the x can because it's actually tuned instead of just a box lol. You'll like it and won't regret it.. Also, those carbs with the bearing for the throttle shaft are nice and beefy. Go with a 990. Also, there is a diaphragm kit that's made for the crappy ethanol gas we get nowadays. And it wouldn't take too long to fully disassemble that entire kit. I use blue thread lock on every single metal to metal part and super glue on every single screw and bolt that goes into plastic parts. Including the beadlocks. It's worth the extra effort. Your transmission will thank you and everything else too. I'm glad your in the Baja game now. There's so damn much you can do.

@@BMPowered go on dave's and get an x-port to go with it. You're gonna need one. Just get the small x-port. Copper gaskets too. Always good to have those. You can use that on your stock motor and for that 36cc, I can send you a pipe that isn't made anymore but works like a dream on big cc motors like that 36cc. I don't know what it'll cost to ship but I can get it out to you on the 15th. I'm broke till then. It's a cpi pipe that's beast. I'll send you the custom bracket that my uncle built for it too so you can bash and not worry about fucking anything up when you crash lol. If you're interested in going custom that is. It's a little worn but is beefy and was pretty damn expensive when I bought it. Something like 200 bucks lmao. It's definitely not a cheap thin rovan pipe. And just fyi, that gtb pipe isn't going to 'brrrrap" like your current pipe but it'll look and function amazingly well. Just install it right the first time and use RED locktite on it. Ttyl. Take care bud.
Rovans are so under apriciated. I have the rovan ft with the 36cc an its been amazing.

Hey boys great video, make sure you go over your oils to in the shocks and diff they are known to have either lil to no oil in the shocks sometimes. Just inconsistencies I guess. But take a look at the shocks.

Harbor freight has a grinder stand (around $25.00 before discounts) that's perfect for holding any 5th scale gasser. I have 2. 1 for my rampage xt & another one for my baha (WHEN I actually buy it. After Christmas, probably). They work absolutely amazing!

I have the 30.5 the same except my tail sticker is gray and black, I'm still waiting on my battery pack i ordered before i break it in, what screws do i need to add loctite to?

And your rings seat while it's running. You need to have your piston at bottom dead center during cool down. Just tips from doing this for a decade lol.
So to tell you have to take off the spark plug?
@@BMPowered no, you can feel it as you pull the pull start. You may want to take the plug out while it's on your bench to practice so you'll know what it feels like whenever you're out there actually breaking it in. I wouldn't recommend taking a spark plugs out while it's hot. They may be thick threads for the plug but I wouldn't risk stripping it on a rovan head. A zenoah head would be fine to do that with. They build those engines like tanks. Hint hint. Wink wink.

I would like to know where you all are getting that dumb ass idea of having the piston on bottom dead center when you turn your motor off... Personally I have been operating and working on 2 stroke engines for over 20 years, and never have I made sure the piston is at bottom, when breaking in a motor. IT DOES NOT MATTER..... I have broke in hundreds of 2 strokes and have took apart probably twice as many, and have never seen a head that had been scored or scratch by the piston setting in the head.... the only person that says that dunm shit is one person on you tube......... DUMBEST THING I'VE HEARD.....

I have the 30.5cc it was red but i bought a body went yellow and put a ton of aluminum on it and yellow A arms chrome wheels and bullet wheel nuts your gonna have to change the servos they will go bad i bought a hitec D845WP for the steering and a jx 6221mg for the throttle! Awsome car have fun with it! Do yourself a favor put a 3ch radio and a dynamite killswitch it will save your car if it tuns away

@@BMPowered the first thing you do to the redcat 1/5 scales is put sealed bearings in the factory bearings are junk and get all the aluminum hubs and knuckles and the center diff mount and gearplate i replaced them on mine and i’ve had zero Issues oh and get rid of the god awfull duel exhaust pipe that comes on it i know theres not many pipes for it so i modified a king motor ghost pipe to fit mine and what a difference

Can i use the "Amsoil Dominator 2 Stroke Oil" in my Baja?
I have read not to run synthetic on the break in tanks. I have also read it was ok at a 25 to 1 mix to run the Amsoil Dominator oils. Don't take my word for it though.., we only run Lucas 2cycle semi synthetic..

How long are you supposed to let it idle and break in before you can actually go full throttle
I've heard different things. Usually, we just let it do a few heat cycles and then run a tank of gas out. Then go full out!
So i wanna buy a new rovan baja 29cc(from banggood). What do you recommend i do when i get it(apart from tightening screws and oiling the air filter)?
Break it in per the manual, make sure the wheel nuts are tightened, charge the battery, test the radio to make sure it works. I'd throw on a kill switch to be safe and go have fun!!

I think you'd be ok over 2 days. As long as you go through the process.. We did ours the same day because we wanted to run..

Is there away I can RESET MY RADIO .??????... I NEVER USED A DIGITAL RADIO AND NOW WHEN I WAS MESSING WITH THE ABS TRIM CAUSE SOME GUY SAID TO PUT IT TO 100% WICH IT DOENT DO ... WELL J TRIED IT AGAIN AND NOW ITS HESITATING WHEN I HIT BRAKE .... IT GOES BACK AND FORTH REALLY NOT HESITATING

@@BMPowered i have it running outside right now on a stool idling..... everything else works , steering , brake , gas .... the engine revs but no movement at all on the wheels .... and there's no gears spinning or anything like that
@@beukeboom3879 if the engine revs when you hit the gas, but wheels don't move, that doesn't sound like a radio issue.

And lucas oil is shit. Try out royal purple. I use klotz modelube. It's worth it and smells good when the engine's going lol.

@@BMPowered the stuff from banggood is chinese, is called rofun and looks different a lil. Rovan is us based company and theu ship from us sooo idk maybe i dont understand something here
So Rovanrc.com is just a website. They sell the Rovan brand....which I believe is also Rofun. All my Rovanrc orders come with Rofun somewhere on the box. King Motors is another very similar brand. It's all confusing as they are all HPI clones.
