Instead of Land Before Swine, series creator Alex Hirsch planned do an episode where Stan takes Dipper and Mabel on a camping trip. While out in the woods they’d encounter a headless horseman monster who hunts humans and has a wall in his home that’s lined with head trophies. Unsurprisingly, Disney thought it was too scary and the crew had to scrap it. Alex thought it was for the best as the episode would've been a generic technology vs. the outdoors story. Fortunately, the headhunter concept found it’s way into the comic Face It from the four-issue series Gravity Falls: Lost Legends.
I showed my buddy a clip of this episode before he ever saw the show. It was Stan's "This is the dumbest thing I've ever done." moment followed by jumping on the Pterodactyl. He instantly got hooked, started binging watching, and became a bigger fan than me.
The whole Mabel different jumpers per episode gag is somewhat of a meta joke. Alex Hirsh says something about summer time, his sister Ariel would wear many different jumpers while Dipper based on Hirsh himself would stick to one clothing or something like that!
Mad respect for Eric knowing the time difference between Tyrannosaurus and Stegosaurus. A lot of people don’t realize that the time difference between the times for many of the popular species is the same as the end of the Dinosaurs and now.
*Fun Fact About Animal Vision:* Hammerhead Sharks evolved the way they did in to increase their vision. The cephalofoil (head) allows them to see 180 degrees per eye while moving forward, and 220 degrees per eye while turning. This means Hammerheads are able to see everything that isn’t directly in front of their nose, or directly behind them. Their heads also allow for quick turning and improved Electroreception (sensing electricity in heartbeats). I like Sharks :).
@@ninakrishnamurthy6674 Not sure about the racist part, but Dolphins are fucking evil. They're frequent rapists, enjoy hurting/torturing other animals, have close to no empathy etc etc

Such a funny and heartwarming episode where Waddles is the central focus of the episode again and gives development to Grunkle Stan who at times can be selfish and thinks of himself, but deep down has a heart especially when he rescues Waddles from the Pterodactyl to win Mabel's trust again. I also can't help but laugh on Stan's made up story on how he tried to protect Waddles from the Pterodactyl. Looking forward to the penultimate episode and the one fans have been waiting for.
I think horses have a blind spot directly in front of them but only for very close up objects, like they would see your hand disappear when you pet them but they can still see the road they're walking on.
After you finish seeing the first season of "Gravity Falls", watch the "Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained". These are short episodes that last a few minutes. They are fun, short, and give another bit of lore on these characters. Those codes that appear in the last seconds of the episode are useful in someway. Watch those episodes and you will see their use.
@@callmek5 Cool! Since I found it I've been watching it every fall so it'd be nice to see someone react to it since I haven't seen very many people do it
One reason predators have less of a field of view is to have more of it overlap to have better 3D vision. So you know exactly how far away your pray is and hitting that jump/dive on the first try.
Fun fact the commercials seen in Gravity Falls led to the creation of Inter-dimension cable episodes of Rick and Morty. Justin Roiland suggested Alex Hirsh that he could really make an entire episode for Gravity Falls about them but Alex thought it won't feel right ( or something else I completely forgot) and now we have two episodes based on that idea.

The person who likely set up the mining stuff is either Mcgucket or the author of the books, they seem like the only two people aware of the supernatural stuff in Gravity Falls.
It’s fun revisiting this awesome series with you guys. You’re coming up on the Season Finale’, Rick came so close to deducing on ‘something’ important very early in the series… but then never brought it up again. Lol …BTW - whats with the floating Dorito chip in a top hat in your intro?
Let me tell ya how to find your eyes blind spot without needing a phone. Right eye first: Close your left eye, focus on a point of your choice, stretch out your arm in front of you, with a thumbs up cover that point with the tip of your thumb (that'll help center your vision and thumb), while still focused on that point slowly move your hand to the right out of your vision (try to keep your hand steady so the tip of your thumb doesn't go too high or low as you move it), if you continue moving your hand to the right there should be a small point were your thumb disappears. That blind spot isn't that far to the right so you should find it rather quickly. For your left eye just use your left arm and move it to the left.
@@maryy.angell Oh, don't worry, I only read the top few comments which are usually pretty vague and not spoilery. The only thing I know about the future (and I've known for a while now) is that there's a Dorito coming. No idea what that's about, though.
