Here's how to play the chords, intro riff and solo to the classic acoustic guitar song Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd!
This video shows how to play this intro riff and then how to strum the chords to the whole song. Keep in mind that chords and strumming are much simpler to learn and play than the intro riff.

One of my best friends passed away 3 months ago and I've been in a really dark place and not myself since. I've always wanted to learn guitar and I bought one on a whim to give myself some sort of an outlet. Tomorrow will be my third week learning from your youtube tutorials and I seem to be catching on quite fast!! You are such a great teacher and have a gift of making things easy to understand. I'm still working on getting the strings all ringing out perfectly, but I can actually play this song now! I dread pretty much every aspect of existing right now but this is something I actually look forward to, and you are apart of that Andy! thank you so much

Hey all, it took me a long time to get the G strum pattern, eventually I replayed from 9:14 at 50% speed. I think it's D D D U U D D U D U. Hope that helps. & thanks for the tutorial Andy.

I’m a vocalist whom trying to learn guitar and i started 2 weeks ago, i can play the intro now as well as the chords but changing between the cords is still slow for me also this down down down up up down down up down up is hard for me while singing but i’m sure with practice i’m gonna learn it 😁
Thanks for this …one of my all time favorites and it’s already sounding good for me lol .. when my grandson was about 10 years old he told me he loved pink floyd and had every album they ever made…such timeless music ..I love it my son loves it ( and can play it) and my grandson loves it no doubt one day his son or daughter will too. Can’t wait to play it for them !
