Decent idea, have you tried lathering in hand sanitizer? How about an even older shoe where the rubber has kind of hardened up? Interesting method though, I can definitely see this mixture doing a bit of work, a little skeptical about shoes that have rubber that's even more aged though
The only problem with hand sanitizer is it does dry out the plastic or rubber quicker so it makes the shoe less durable over time. It’s a good quick fix but it shouldn’t be done all the time
I appreciate it my G
Of course!
You are a genuine messiah
Thanks 😊
Thanks for the tip, I used this on my Giannis Imortaility 1s (Mine pick up dust pretty bad) and they are soo grippy now. Keep up the good work man.

@@solesnsuds BROTHERRRR!! I got the mb.02 lamelo ball jade's in UK size 8 and the back is so hard to put my foot in and it's uncomfortable, how do I break them in to be comfortable and easy to put my feet in and wear. And sorry if this is long but can I take these shoes outside and like use them regularly and even play basketball outside or is it just inside shoes
Just wanna say you have earned a subscriber Yessirr. Also how do you clean mesh shoes like a whole tutorial on how to not mess up a shoe while cleaning
Thank you! I will totally do one of those videos! What shoe is it that has the mesh?
@@solesnsudsyo bro is it ok to get my jirdan 13s wet and my jordan 1s wet? And my kobe 6s
Yes just pat down after
And I typically don’t put the detergent on the top I just use it for the bottoms
@@solesnsudsight
Going ro try thanks
Yeah thanks for watching! Let me know if there is anything else you would like to see
@@solesnsuds doing it right now! Looking for the laundry stuff
Great idea- do you think dishwasher detergent would work or stick to laundry? Thx
It should be fine to use either
Damn bro thanks
Of course!
Hey, I really enjoy watching your videos and this one was very helpful! I was just wondering if it is ok to wipe the traction of basketball shoes with lysol, the reason I'm asking is because I play on a really dusty court and wipe my shoes every 2-3 uses, but I'm not sure if repeated use of Lysol can damage the shoes? The traction is made of thick rubber but I'm still not sure if I should keep on using Lysol. Are there any other easy ways to wipe them and get back traction that is quick and easy? Thanks! (also to be specific, the shoes are way of wade 808 2 v2)
You can use Lysol once in a while if you need traction quick. It speeds up the wear of the shoe. If you are fine with that use it whenever but what Lysol does is it drys out the plastic so it breaks quicker. Every once in a while is fine
@@solesnsuds Thanks for the reply! I'll refrain from using Lysol from now on but I have one more question. Is doing the method shown in the video ok to do after every 2-3 uses? Or will it also speed up any wear on the shoe? Thanks for replying!
Oh yeah my bad I didn’t see this yeah that’s totally fine
Wow, I am going to try it an my Gianni’s immortality
Nice!
Yo did it work cuz I got the same shoe
@@Kuzkia yes, it worked beautifully!

Thanks!
thx it cleaned my melo's perfect
Of course!
need it for melos too those things get dust hella fast, but did it last long
Yo nice vid, anyways what kobes are those
Kobe away ad nxt lakers
You think Dawn dish soapwould work or is this method better?
Both work
How long does it last usually? Great video btw, I can feel the grip already. ❤
It just depends how often you play and how dirty the court. It can last a month to a couple weeks
@@solesnsuds thanks man, does that mean I should reapply?
Whenever you need to
@@solesnsuds 👍
i did it and it didnt work as well as it worked for you but IT WORKED!
Sounds good! Thanks for watching im glad it worked out
Doing this before game day tmr
Nice!
one question, does the amount of times you do it ruin the shoe at all?
No it doesn’t
Does it work on zoom freak 5’s? Also does the shoe outsole get damaged because of some chemicals?
It works and no it doesn’t damage them
Is it same for outdoor basketball shoes? (I’m wearing LeBron 20 as outdoor basketball shoes)
Yes it is
What chemicals should you not use? And is it good for like dish soap or hand soap?
Honestly just stick to either dish or hand soap no harsh chemicals
Does it have to be tide pods or can it be any type of detergent?
Any should work
Just tried this hoping it works when I play tmr
Sounds good let me know!
Is there any chance the grip melts by rubbing it with a brush ?
If it’s a soft brush you are ok
i have curry 11s and they have a foam bottom would that still work?
Yes
you think ariel all in one pods whould wor?(its a german laundry detergent) and does this also work ond WoW 10´s
Yes it will work and it will work on WOWs
ok thanks@@solesnsuds
Question, how long will the grip last for?
Depends on how dirty the court is. It will last a week to a month or two depending on how much you play and how dirty the court is
I usually do this once a month or once a week depending on how much i play. And after each hoop session use some baby wipes to wipe off dust
Does the warm water or the liquid dissolve the bottom at all?
No you are okay
It worked on my kd 16
Nice
Does this work on the currys’ outsole, I mean on foam ?
Yes
Could I use powder detergent instead?
I’ve never but you should be fine to just mix with water
Do it have any effect on durability of the shoes??
No
Do you have to wear them right after you clean them?
No
I have to ask does this work for all shoes or just basketball shoes?
All
@@solesnsuds Thank you soo much because I have this vans and my b-shoes that need their grip back ,thanks to you
Know how to save old translucent rubber? Mine is yellowing and hard
It’s pretty tough, if you want to make them clear again you use a thing called sole revive and put them in the sun. But if you do this most of the time the rubber turns clear again but loses a lot of grip.
Does this work on any kind of basketball shoes?
Yes
would this work On Lamelo Ball 1’s?
Yes I have a pair it works
Should i do this weekly? Or just do it after every game?
I just washed it.
I do it whenever they are dusty, whenever I feel I need to get them clean
Does it work with laundry detergent?
Yed
Do I have to let it sit when the detergents on
No just brush them you can dry and rinse
"NO TIMMY THATS NOT A DRINK"
does this work on zoom freak 5's?
Yes
Can i use regular soap like dish soap/hand soap?
Yes
@@solesnsuds okay thanks
Yo suds wanna ask, can i clean the whole shoe with the detergant?
What shoe is it
You should be totally fine to as long as it isn’t bleach
@@solesnsuds kd trey 5 x
@@solesnsuds 👍🏼
Yeah you should be good
Can i use other detergent?
Yes
Also, is this at all dangerous? With touching ditergent and all
No it’s not dangerous. The detergent is used for your clothes it’s not harmful. You can wear gloves if you like just don’t ingest it or get it in your eyes
Bro, I don't know much English, what was that liquid you put in the glass?
Laundry detergent or a tide pod
can I use dishwashing liquid??
Yeah that would work
Does any detergent work?
Yeah
bro i have a kobe 9 with the same problem i gonna apply your method and i telling You
Nice!
Would it work on Tatum 1s?
Yes
@@solesnsuds thanks brother I’m about to try it
does this work for the lebron 21
Yea
Does it ruin the shoe at all?
No
dab the paper towel so it doesn't rip, just hold it on the shoe for a second or so
👍
Should I brush the outsole gently? I'm using an old toothbrush.
You don’t have to be gentle but I wouldn’t try to damage the shoes either. Just brush how you normally would
Like brushing your teeth
@@solesnsuds alr thanks
@@solesnsudsAnd does getting the shoes wet removes the factory glue? I'm scared getting my shoes wet.
is it fine to use toothpaste instead?
I would stick to detergent but it won’t damage your shoes so you can try it
hey what kobes are those i looked them up and cant find nuthing
Kobe ad 2018 lakers
@@solesnsuds oh ok thank so much!
Dods this ruin the traction? I have lebron nxxt gen
It wont
It doesn’t damage it
Can I use tide
Yes
Meanwhile me with my And1s that I wear on the outside basketball court and they're as smooth as a balloon:
Yeah it might be time for another pair 😂
what happens if some of the liquid gets on the shoe
You will be fine as long it’s not super delicate
bro is it the same cleaning the upper?
It will work yes
Just be gentle with brushing or use a soft brush
Bro is a genius💀
Thanks 😂
w vid +1 sub gng
Thank you!
Does toothpaste work bro?
I wouldn’t use it but I mean you can try
Does it make the shoes TOO sticky?
No it isn’t too sticky it just restores grip back to the point of basically new
Do you know how long this will last
It all depends on how dirty the court is you are playing on
@@solesnsuds So if you on a clean court will it last the whole game
