    Does it have any type of security?
    Say you wanna go shopping or to a movie. And you leave your car for long time. Does the car have some form of a "sentry mode" where it will alert you if someone is near your car or anything?

    Excellent review, except for the fact that you missed the most important aspect of a hybrid car rebiew: real world fuel economy... Good luck!

    When I had to sell my Civic to come to this city, my Grandfather GAVE me his 1974 Dodge Coronet (it was like an aircraft carrier when I first drove it - but in a week I loved it). One of the things I most remember thinking was so odd - but I just LOVED it - was that the heating controls were over on the LEFT side of the steering wheel, where the dimmer, lane assist, traction control buttons are on the Elantra. It was so enjoyable because I had total control of those. The Elantra my first impression was similar to when I saw the Corvettes cabin - wow the driver is clearly seen as the one in charge here; the passenger will be annoyed but they are kind of like the folks in the back and it is just a seat now.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly lol - the Elantra is very much a driver focused vehicle. It may not be set up the best for the passenger - but ultimately, it’s the driver that needs to have control.

      @@BrantfordKia my brother is 6'4" and passengers in it quite often and tells me it is perfectly normal, zero issue that he would have noticed.

      BTW - I drove the car to mom's house (we are her main caregivers now), and he was the one that said - buy this car, it is a good one.

    One thing I don't understand. Mark is 6 feet and his head touches the ceiling when he was on the rear seat. I saw a review by Ed's Garage and Ed is 6'2 and he was seated in the back seat but he has at least 2" to 3" clearence. Ok I just rewatched your video when we first see Mark there is clearence between his head and the ceiling he then moves forward for some reason and then says he just had one issue. if he would of sat back I'm sure he would of had lots more clearence.

    It's really too bad they don't include an EV button so you can force it to stay in electric mode like in a Prius. When I test drove it, I found it really hard to have it stay in electric mode using the pedal.

    • @Robot_Cajun
      @Robot_Cajun 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a gas hybrid, not a plug in. Buy a phev if you want to drive in electric-only mode for a reliable distance. And even then, I think only the Volt could be forced to remain in electric mode without being kicked into ICE under hard-acceleration or AC use. The Ioniq hybrid (which the Elantra steals its hybrid system from) was a bit easier to stay in EV mode but you surely couldn’t just keep it there.

      @jamespaul2587 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why would you sell a car you just drove off a lot? Depreciation is irrelevant unless you are planning to sell the car soon after purchase, and with the current market conditions used cars are selling at a premium in many areas

      @@jamespaul2587 ok let's say you buy a new truck for 70k and drive it for 3 years. After 3 years you trade it in for 37k. You just lost 11k/year in depreciation. Conversely I bought a 10 year old truck for 12k. 3 years later I want to sell it. It's still worth 11k. I lost 1k in depreciation
