    I think the size difference between the porphyrion and warhound is acceptable considering you would actually get to use the porphyrion more than once a year

      Still a better effort then me lol. Also considering all the models you have aswell as the reviews and latest releases that you cover for the channel that's fair enough aswell.
      I have my Iron warriors almost finished but then I've got an entire sons of horus army that adds upto roughly 5000pts all still sitting in thier boxes. I need to stop slacking!

    Dude, just put a cardstock backing plate inside the socket, with a large magnet on the inside. That will keep the magnet on the arm from pulling it free, while providing a firm hold. Or hell, make a green stuff plug and magnetize that. Don't glue that this in there.

    • @Sup3rSaiy3n
      @Sup3rSaiy3n  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your kind words. It is a lovely model.
      Regarding the 2016 update. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on some mats and I have a couple of models yet to finish so it wont be ready in the next few days. The last video took over 4 hours just to set up the models so the update video will take even longer. And I'm still not sure all the models will fit on the mats I've ordered. I pretty much have to write off a whole day to make the video so with that being said I want it to be special, include every model in the collection and be the best it can be. I don't want to spend that much time creating an update if there are models in boxes somewhere. - my 2015 update did not have the Reaver Titan and I regret that.
      Rest assured I have been working all through the holiday to get models completed and it will be up as soon as possible. I will announce it on twitter/facebook and there will also be a teaser on Instagram before it is released. I am trying to aim for sometime soon in the New Year - depending on when my mats arrive.
      Thank you for your patience. It will be worth the wait.

      Cheers, you're welcome, thanks for watching. I glue the arms on the plastic knights into place and I'd probably do the same on the Cerastus knights. I'm used to magnetising arms on Warhounds. Reavers and Warlords after many people encouraged me to start doing it.

    Concerning the rules.
    Those ARE experimental rules. The 7th Horus Heresy campaign book should be out this year, and perhaps FW will have Melta/D /range improved rules for the Porphyrion
    Perhaps FW could also sell a Helios upgrade (6 or 8 even missiles?)
    Or Volcano Cannon, Ulator class Sonic Destructor (a-la Ordinatus Ulator) arms

    • @Sup3rSaiy3n
      @Sup3rSaiy3n  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video should help: th-cam.com/video/He18wqXlN8Y/w-d-xo.html In short I soak all of the parts straight out of the bag either overnight or over a few hours in warm soapy water. Then I scrub them under cold water with an old toothbrush. Then I leave them to dry on a towel. I've built everything from a Warlord to a Stormbird and haven't had an issue.

      Magnetising the weapons and torsos for the bigger pieces is quite straight forward but I'm not sure how difficult it would be to magnetise the other pieces. You could always phone/email FW direct for more information before you buy the magnets and glue them. I'm sure they would help too.

      I am happy to answer your question. If you own any space marines I recommend the Sicaran tank as a first FW model as it will hone your hobby skills. In terms of dealing with flash, trimming, working with flat surfaces, intricate parts and magnetisation.

      xenos killer yes contemptor or leviathan dreadnoughts. Both can be used in HH or 40K too. Stay clear of combination kits (such as plastic and resin, predator tanks etc), older kits as their instructions are old and not clear and you may have more QC issues. Characters are nice but quick and not that satisfying.

      Interesting question. You have a few choices. You can use it on its own in a Leviathan force (as a single compulsory Lord of War) , or have it optional in an age of darkness, onslaught or castellan force. With a typical age of darkness force you would need an HQ and two troop choices. This could be a Magos Dominus or Magos Prime (I prefer the look of the Dominus model by GW, they're both £22 so up to you) and 2 units of either Adsecularis covenant, Thallax, Scyllax or Castellax or a mixture of 2 of any of those.

  • @retributionangel5078
    @retributionangel5078 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    If it is 4x Twin shoots shouldnt it be 8x Barrels? I got a feeling you or FW got something wrong that will be erratat later.
    IMO nic model but they could have made it knight size or even based and just replaced the weapons. Then people would actuall use these. Way too expensiv in Money for what you get on the tabel.

    • @Sup3rSaiy3n
      @Sup3rSaiy3n  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah I'm right and FW are right. There are 4 barrels but only two of them fire twice. Each weapon fires twice and it is twin linked (on that side).The knight Paladin's battle canon is one barrel but it fires twice and there are other examples to such as Autocannons, Vulcan Mega Bolters, Star cannons, Big Shooters, Heavy Bolters etc that all have less barrels than shots.
      Yes it is a lovely model and one of the best kits I've had the pleasure of building in recent times. Everything from the box to the instructions to the quality of the cast.
      If it was knight sized but still fully resin as opposed to a Styrix which is a resin/plastic kit I'm sure it would still be about £200 and at a lower price might increase its tabletop presence. However £200 for one model would still be a lot for someone that could buy 4 knights with D weapons for the same money. Rules wise it would produce diminishing returns in terms of battle role effectiveness. What I mean by this is if people wanted these models cheaper to use them more in normal games on normal tables they would not get much value for their points cost. They are a niche product due to their high cost, in a niche market due to their rules (HH only and only for Mechanicum and Questoris army lists).
      On the topic of cost versus what you get on the table we could say that about most large FW kits. I highly doubt the majority of people buy kits like these based on their battle role effectiveness. 20% of customers game with their models. If you do then you're clearly in it to win it or play in a lot of competitions. The two main reasons for me were that it looks totally cool and will fit in nicely with the knight army side of the collection. Its rules and how difficult it was to build and paint are after thoughts. I can see how this may be reversed for others though.
      A Warhound is £364 for 750 points, a Land Raider is £40 for 250 points, a Warlord is £1,240 for 3,000 points, well you see where I'm going with this. These bigger models almost need a new game system of their own and certainly take the 'miniature' out of miniature wargaming lol. It's almost become Epic 28mm scale.
      Finally I think the model fits in well with the other knights as a big almost cumbersome heavy support platform. Sure some extra rules concerning the 'magna' side of its weapons would've been nice such as D weapon for 36 inch range would be my go to or even Armourbane. Any smaller would make the guns look less of a threat and the Cerastus Knights look even more out of place.

      @Sup3rSaiy3n  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      BEMO 556. Depends on the circumstances. I'd take the Helios missiles against high toughness/vehicles as they are free, they are 2 shots but less range at 60", str8 ap 2 sky fire and interceptor. The iron storm is ordnance 1 7" blast ap 4 and is better for mobs. It would go well with the auto cannons option.

      BEMO 556. No worries. Welcome the questions. I think long range it would do very well, just keep it out of assault range because that's were it's most vulnerable. Can't find its stats online but armed with the anti tank weapons you have 8 shots that could seriously cripple the stomps. 2 rounds of shooting should destroy it.

    Thank Gork ( or possibly Mork ) that that thing can't be used in 40K. I think this Lord Of War / super-heavy thing is getting a bit daft ( especially on the Imperium side ). There's just too many of them in my opinion. When there were only a few of them it made them feel a bit special. Nowadays it's more a case of " Another one ? Oh well, whatever... " the excitement's gone a bit ( actually rather a lot ) tbh. I agree they are splendid models and are great for collectors, but they just don't feel all that special now. Not to me, anyway. What I'd like to see is a few more lighter vehicles ( pity the Ork Guntrukks seem to have disappeared ). Predator ( but not Predator variants. there's plenty of those already ) size tanks, different troop carriers, and maybe a few armoured cars / scout vehicles ( especially for the IG ). I do like the look of FW's version of the Bren Carrier I have to admit. I think things like that can add to game scenario possiblities far more than yet another huge killer robot or tracked fortress. Sorry for the long post, I couldn't shorten it anymore, lol.

    By the time I raise enough money to buy it, Forgeworld will take it out of production. Lol. It, just as with almost all their other models, looks great and feels like THAT MUST HAVE for your army. I wish the prices were much lower as it would serve to increase their sales even higher than what it is currently. Just imagine 30k games with Titans, Knights, Fell Blades and the like fielded at once by each player. Enjoy your Holiday present, it's awesome.

      I can only think of a few models taken out of production. - Baneblade, Mawloc, Thunderhawk transporter. The Lucius Warhound had been around for over 13 years and the current Mars pattern has been around for over 10. Reducing prices would be great but due to the popularity of Horus Heresy it will probably mean they're not going to. I'm just pleased there is so much choice out there for people wanting to buy a big centre piece.

      It is in incredible and one of the best quality kits FW have produced so far imo. Forgive my ignorance sir but I've skimmed over your 187 videos and cannot find one relating to FW resin issues or any models from FW for that matter. Would you care to elaborate on the issues you've experienced and the outcome of their customer service?

      Well i have the Uh... whats it called let me look it up i have it in a box somewhere..... oow yeah thats its name STORMEAGLE!!! to many gabs on the sides!
      My best friend bought the dreadnaught drop pod and that one did fit! and i also bought the autocannons turrets for a dreadnaught barrels where bended like a hula hoop!
      I got the flyer out of the box and tried to start working on it a couple of times but then i got that much annoyed that i had to put it back in the box en start something ells! there is only so much time we have for the hobby i prefer to spend it on something i enjoy doing!
      If i ever have time left ill start working on it again but for now i bought my self some nice tau models!
      oow en i did not make use of the customer service i am VERY lazy considering things like contacting customer services of every thing! OOw wel we al have or good and or bad things!
      Tanks for skipping true my vids!

      Oh right cheers. Yeah I don't have a Storm Eagle or Fire Raptor but I heard they are very difficult models to get right due to the parts and the fact it is a resin/plastic model - which are usually the most difficult. I've actually held back in getting them because of the difficulties others have mentioned. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience and I totally understand why you'd spend your time on other more enjoyable projects. Take care.

      If you think the amount of flaws in the kit is unacceptable then send FW pics and they'll often send you a completely new kit.

    do British people pronounce Behemoth as
    Bay-heh-moth
    rather than
    Beh-he-myth

      @@Sup3rSaiy3n huh, wierd... also thanks for replying :]
      Was deciding between a porphyrion and the astraeus super heavy tank. I think I'm going to get the Astraeus as it just seems like more fun, less points and easier on the wallet.
      thoughts?

      Daring Darius no worries. I read every comment 👀
      Depends if whether you like tanks or walkers more. I like both highly but I think you will enjoy the Astraeus more

      I have a Terminus Ultra, 2 rhino's, 1 knight paladin, 1 knight crusader, 2 warglaives, so I'm kind of in the middle hence my predicament, but I think I'm a tank boi. Once I save up I'll be going to pick one up :3
      Also, I live about 15 minutes away from the new Cafe that opened up in Arlington Texas. You mentioned it in one of your recent videos, it was awesome to go, the line itself was about 150+ people when the doors opened, but they only allowed about 50 people inside at the beginning (at once) so it was an hour wait, but super fun.
      Edit: oh, and thanks for helping me decide between the two ^^

      Most British dialects tend to lean towards softer vowels and we often lose Hs altogether :p
