He was too explosive...and his body couldn't take it...it broke down..then they tried to rush him back which made things worse... but now it seem like he takes his time... and doesn't explode off the ground as crazy as he use to... that shit is what hurt him.

10 years ago, you were No.1 pick.
9 years ago, you were rookie of the year.
7 years ago, you were the youngest MVP.
You were windy city assassin, son of Chicago.
6 years ago, the injuries, the suffering, the pain, the sorrow.
You were the brightest star who has fallen too soon.
We never left, we were there.
Because I know, one day, “the Rose” will bloom once again.
    New York, Cleveland, Minnesota.
We were there, waiting for the day,
    One day...
    Tonight, is the night.
the sweat, the tear, the thrill, the roar.
No more brutal dunks, no more flashy crossovers.
Instead, you have steel-forged faith, and ever-unyielding soul.
You are the fiercest wolf, preying on victory.
You shouted out what you have been through all these years.
You have once again awakened, like a phoenix nirvana.
This is a glimpse of your prime promised by god, but never had a chance to shine.
This is the night will be carved into history forever.
This is the proof that Derrick Rose has always been a fighter.
This is the moment, we both cried, perhaps too god damn hard.
Dream back to Windy city, dream back to MVP.
    Thank you, Derrick Rose.
Thank you all along the way, and we will always be there for you.

if this doesnt inspire the timberwolves to play their assess off, then they dont deserve to be in the NBA. You have a man who's been through so much, who's been rejected by the league and he still plays his heart out. If the timberwolves dont resolve their locker room drama after this, then they are just a bunch of crybabies.

As a basketball player... You should understand the tears and strain in his voice when he says he works his ass off. The amount of grit, determination, years of non-stop training (every day), going through all of his injuries, and still crying on national television should tell you how much this man has sacrificed to still be elite. He's an elite player, and nothing will take away his MVP in 2011 or still being relevant after most men wouldn't be after his types of injuries. This man is still underappreciated yet uncompromising. Always staying his game, staying his lane, and yes, working his gaht dayum ASS OFF. 🌹

Derrick Rose's jersey is the second jersey I ever bought many years ago and I was jus looking at it the other day after he played the Lakers pondering that although he struggled a bit (even missing 9 straight at one point) I could tell that he still had it in him.
I think this is what fascinates us about sports. We are witnessing an amazing demonstration of will despite a multitude of obstacles that extend far beyond the physical, whether it be emotional, mental, etc. This performance, in my eyes, is reminiscent of an Ali vs Foreman because there is so much more involved in the context beyond the box score itself.
There were people counting him out and dismissing him. To see him manage to not only overcome all of that but also score a career high is nothing short of historical. This will go down along with Kobe's 60 in my books, and he hit 50 too which is such a dope number. You could not script something better, that's why I love basketball and appreciate people like Derrick Rose who succeed in conquering their obstacles. This Halloween is for D-Rose.

    • @bryantali358
      @bryantali358 5 ปีที่แล้ว

DevilDawg Love this assessment. And agree about Kobe too. Given his age, how many injuries he’d suffered near the end of his career, and the context, it’s the greatest post-merger regular season performance of all time.
