Cheers CtC - yes I did have to remove a section of the gravel ballast (don't...sigh...) but I've got a good two in one there - inspection hatch and wine cellar!!
Ya can't go wrong with a Landlord and Pizza. One of my favourite pizza beers. The blokes dunny is a bonus without sheilas on board. Thanks for the insight into your boat mate. Cheers
That was great and I loved the music. You always come up with something new. I know you mentioned recently, I think on the live stream, that you'd do a tour of the boat but this was so clever, you are very creative. It's always a treat watching your videos. Thanks.
Nice set of vlogs! .. I have just bought a 57 foot narrowboat and next week begin my live-aboard adventure. I will be bringing it up from the midlands to the Leeds Liverpool canal. Can't wait to get cracking :-)
moored just down from us! good to see the inside for once, as newish boaters in the process of doing up our boat its good to have a nosey inside others for an idea! might need to fit in a drinks cabinet... oh and a little advice if your still around that area, pop up to oddy lock at the weekends, they have the best cake and coffee!
Hi Robbie, Love your videos, even watch them multiple times because there so good. If you don't mind me asking, Do you think you got a good deal since she has looked after you so long or would you advise a different budget etc. thanks
Ah thanks Paul that’s great to hear, as I try to make each one as rewatchable as poss. I think I did ok, paid a fair price (£24k), had to do a lot of work myself and pay for repairs but I think that will happen in most cases any way. I would like a slightly newer boat though!
Oh yes! If I'd ever move to the UK and buy a narrowboat, it would definitely have to have this setup. I also like your large windows compared to the small portholes others have. Cheers from Germany.
Thanks, well I don't know... I do also listen to a lot of punk and metal on the boat too 8^D but I thought it wouldn't really work on a chilled out video like this ha ha!!
Well done ramping up the music with the speaker !! ...my A-frame ski bum cabin is a twin to your boat ... coal stove good food beer and all !! : ) ...thank you for the walk through on your boat !!
Thanks Keith this is the oldest one and yes the earlier ones are numbered, along with the ones I filmed just last year. th-cam.com/play/PLhjOIy_TNGCGkNrDjrVeSsA_8W1FHG0FS.html
Loved the tour, the boat looks so cozy. Great to see how all the bits and pieces work. What are those record players like? I was thinking of investing in one. I loved the creative way you filmed it. Very different. Thanks for sharing 🙂🌼
Hi alethia Nicola thank you! Portable turntable - mixed results, the proper vinyl heads don't like them but it suits my needs. perhaps I'll do a quick demo on the next video...?
this is one of the best things you've done - You really get a sense of the space, with this piece. I'd really like to know how long your narrowboat is, 40 feet is my guess.
Hi Carolyn, thank you so much. Yes crime can be a problem, especially if leaving boat on it's own without others around it. But leaving it doesn't seem to make much of a difference sometimes as desperate robbers and intruders will try their luck anyway. In fact, I've been on my boat every time I've experienced criminal activity!! 8^D
Peter that's fine, funnily enough I've already started making that vlog, got loads of pics/footage so it's like already done y'know? If by already done we take it to mean in about 4 months time 8^O
Hi Robbie I have been watching you and jasmine and david's vids because the wife and I are thinking about narrow boats. Why are all the boats 12v with inverters to 240v. Wouldn't it make more sense to put a truck alternator on your engine and have a bit of a mix round with your existing batteries and have 24v up to 240? truckers have all this stuff off the shelf and as yet I've not seen a single boat with 24v. I cant think why when some of the boats are up to 60'' long and that's a heck of a long way for 12v DC to travel. Sorry to be such a nerd but there must be a reason for this.
Good question. Same could be said about motor homes too. I'm sure why but there's bound to be a logical explanation somewhere just can't think why off the top of my head. Will have a think and get back to you!
Here's a long and very nerdy answer for you!: www.westmarine.com/WestAdvisor/24-Volt-Electrical-Systems For my boat it would definitely be a parts and weight issue as to why I don't have 24v. Thanks for watching hope these videos help somewhat 8^)
Thanks Steve, yes I though I'd experiment with this one but the next one should be back to normal... Got such a back log of stuff just need more time to edit!! 8^)

Thanks Kevin but I'm not sure what you mean? Panarvin or canarvin no idea. Fair point about the text - I always try to make these videos so you can watch them again and see new things (well that's the idea). Cheers for watching though!
Nice tour, thanks for sharing. Not sure if you have gotten around to changing the halogens for LED's. Much less drain on the batteries. Well worth doing. They will do mail order but they also have hundreds of outlets all over the country. You can learn lots by just looking through the catalog
Robbie I was wondering how often you need to clean out your flue from the boatman stove, my experience with burning wood and coal I had to do mine before winter (October time) and again in the late spring (May) I say this because I had a flue fire, was quite a worrying experience.
Thanks for metnioning Peter, yes I tend to burn a fair amount of resinous wood (pallets etc) so I do try to give the flue a good brushing out every month during winter just to improve the flow as well as to avoid fires - that must have been really upsetting for you!
It’s not pretty but It was the safest spot in that particular area though. You can also challenge anyone walking over there easily as there’s no public right of way past those gates. Was also a winter mooring at only £80 a month, but I expect price has increased now.
10 bust vertebrae and now mobile??? You lucky lucky bastard (no offence, Pythonesque), I bust one vertebrae back in 1992, been paralysed ever since..... I too was in Northern General... but before that Lodge Moor... BUT, I actually FIRST broke that vertebrae back in my army days, I had an accident in 1977 that I didn't realise, but a simple accident in 1992 re-shattered it and led to paraplegia. Fair play to you... now, I would love to live on a narrowboat, but that is impossible in a wheelchair.... you could still do it
@@hugorune766 Hello mate yes it's quite an x-ray picture. All the pointy bits of 10 are broken off and will never mend it looks like a zip that's been undone. Strangely when it hurts it's not down the middle it's down my right side. I was conscious all the way through and amazingly the hospital staff seemed more worried about the big haematoma on my back. I'm not a religious person but luck was on my side that day. So sorry for you mate but you have made me think that I should grab all the chances and opportunities left open to me whilst I still can. All the best to you sir from Mr Jimbaloid.
Robbie, Safety tip.. Perhaps you might think about turning the gas off at the bottle top regulator when its not in use. Thats pretty much the reason why the gas lockers are outside u know... I just say this cuz you lit the oven as soon as you boarded the boat without turning the gas on.. Not having a go, just thinking safety first... :)
Saw this little stove top fan and I thought of you on your boat. I don't know if they have these in the UK, but here is this one. www.garrettwade.com/caframo-ecofans-gp.html

Nice to see where you live - home from home. It's yours, all yours. Lovely video - liked the music
Thanks Michael unfortunately it has just been copyright claimed so I have to let them put adverts on this video now!
Bit hot was it, that pizza? Love seeing how everything's fitted in so compactly. Wish I had an underfloor cooler...
Cheers CtC - yes I did have to remove a section of the gravel ballast (don't...sigh...) but I've got a good two in one there - inspection hatch and wine cellar!!
A beer cellar! How posh is that! :) Looks like a good evening in!
This Vlog shows why I believe you are one of the top three canal journalists. Thanks for sharing...
Omg Robbie loving ur videos and now uve got Music for Chameleons by Gary Numan on ur turntable 😀😀👍absolutely brilliant mate...
The bathroom was my favourite bit. Although the wine cellar was pretty amazing too
Thanks I saw a posh version of it on pinterest and thought why not?!!
