  • In Longport, near Burslem sits a large, Georgian, Master Potters house, with a link to the Wedgwoods and other prominent families of the area.
But this isn't Wedgwood's Big House. This is The Duke of Bridgewater Inn, and unfortunately, the building has seen much better days.

    What a great video
I lived on a canal boat for 3 years and spent a lot of time at the boat yard
I’d no idea of the history but I drove through Longport today and it looks so sad

Glad you enjoyed it! It's very sad to see. I don't see any benefit of leaving all these buildings empty!

That was my grandpas pub we used to own it but then it got too much for my father as my grandad died and it got too much to deal with. As a child I used to go there when they was cleaning it up and draw on the whiteboards when it was an office also did sleepovers there which was really creepy.

Pity you couldn’t get inside , the last one I saw showed there to have been a cannabis grow inside , well done again with an informative video .

I'm always happy to go in places, but I won't break and enter and this is well boarded up. Which is lucky, or it might not be here anymore!

@@TheRedHairedStokie my family owned this pub and trust me the state it is in now u do not want to go in. Someone broke it maybe like 5 years ago or so and trashed it, there was drugs everywhere dog mess and human mess as well as he wrote f u on all the walls. It made me really sad to see as a 13 year old seeing the place my grandad ran for years which then my dad ran for years as well as many sleepovers just completely trashed

Unfortunately there was no cannabis that I was aware of when we owned it and if there was then the council would’ve gotten to it as they hated that we owned it to the point that we just gave it up to them

@@jaimeleaf9378 I was not suggesting in the least you had any cannabis growing I was talking about another time when one of the explorers got into the building after it was empty and they suggested that rough sleepers had been in and evidence of a grow .

Oh thank u for clearing that up and I can confidently say that that is true someone did break in and started doing and growing drugs that’s why there is f u all over the walls

Duke of Bridgewater on one side of the road, The Pack Horse on the other .... canal history enshrined in tow buildings.
