I’ve been watching marlin for about 2 1/2 years and I had no idea his baits sold out that fast and for that much! THATS AWESOME MAN congrats. $1500 off 3 baits and videos only been up 3 hours! Hard work pays off! Also probably the best shad paint job I’ve ever seen
Haha, I immediately jumped to the comments after hearing Jordan Peterson. Literally have the video on pause right now. Curious to see how the comment section reacts lol

wow did not know that but I could see him to be the guy who helps and doesn't just sit there and watch Marlin hip hip hurray Hip Hip Hurray HIP HIP HURRAY
I gotta say by far you have got to be the most artistic person I’ve seen videos on ever still been watching for over year so far and still as interesting as the first one I saw.thx for the entertainment and the much needed drive to attempt any crafty ideas that come to my table in life and always fun to watch you growing in technique and life keep it up and maybe we will randomly cross paths fishing one day . Have a great one and thx again
I’ve been patiently waiting for a new video to propose a suggestion for a crazy bait idea. In honor of Halloween, a weedless human finger bait. Weedless, because it would look extra gruesome for the hook to be deeply embedded in the finger. Bass like human fingers!
I love the shift from lure making to splitting maul (I know I most likely spelt it wrong) footage. You always throw a curve ball at us, good curve balls that is.
Just getting back into fishing after a 20ish year hiatus and wanted to say thanks for doing these videos. You have great insights and a whacked sense of humor which I appreciate. :) Looking forward to many more from ya sir!
These are gorgeous. I can't imagine fishing with something that is more like art than fishing gear. I lose way, WAY too many lures to risk something like that. To quote Indiana Jones "That belongs in a museum!"
I loved the mulberry splitting intermission. We took down a dead mulberry a couple years ago and I split it all with a maul. Now it's perfectly seasoned, kept covered and dry, and it is awesome in the smoker (great choice for flavor!) and the fireplace (blue flames and fun fireworks sometimes lol).
How hasn’t Nat Geo offered you a show yet? This guy is a young bob ross of this. Hit me up id love to represent you I’m a PR guy. With writers and production, forget it, you’ll kill it. A true craftsman. Can’t let those flies disturb your work!!! Golden
This man is out here making $2k worth of baits in one video hard work, talent, and dedication pays off I'd love to be as talented as Marling one of these days.👌
while waiting on uploads i watch older videos you’ve come a long ways in your baitmaking and video skills. pat yourself on the back for me man you’re doing great 👍
Dude this was the best video. Having the splitting maul interruption was fun. You make some amazing stuff can’t wait to get my hands on one of your baits. And some epic molds!!
Hmmm...I have been trying to figure out how to fish the bay in the town I recently moved to...lots of trout and salmon here, but most of my fishing experience is river fishing where anything over 5' is "deep". The peer in the bay is around 30-60' deep. Typically, I use weight + worms just off bottom, or a big 'ol spoon. One of these huge spinners with a ton of weight in the belly will allow me to cast it way out there, and then drag it slowly 5-10' off bottom. Everyone uses spoons, and the area is heavily fished...something new might give me a leg up out there. Most of the rivers here are closed until next year, but the bay and river mouth are open all year.
@@Flarexxxx I dunno about that...20+lb salmon and trout (rainbow/lake/brown) are common. When trolling we use 4" Lyman exclusively. And I typically use a 3-4" spoon. River fishing is a different game (can use small baits more successfully in the river). I've been catching a ton of trout and a few salmon, not really looking for advice, but it's appreciated nonetheless. We'll get "jacks" under 10lbs on the 4" Lyman. I no longer have access to a boat and have to fish from shore now though...and it's a little different game...everyone else throws spoons. So do I. I want to try something different. There are tons of anglers down there every day. The fish see a ton of spoons. I also have luck with worms and marshmellow to keep it off the bottom. Essentially the trick is you want to keep the bait near the bottom for the maximum amount of time so you aren't casting a million times and essentially covering no water. Most setups keep your lure down there for about 20 feet or so, if you are lucky and good at counting down your bait drop. Light line and heavy lures with a slow retrieve.
@@AaronHendu oh yeah if there getting that big for sure these would work, not use to large salmon as where i am we only have Atlantic salmon and there quite rare and are considered endangered due to decades of over harvesting and habitat loss, but good news is through regulations and multiple projects and associations uniting including the provincial liquor stores association thats dedicated to habitat restoration and protecting, the population is om the rise
@@whiskerfisher2469 I already use live bait...not much luck using live as all you catch is goby, and they are illegal to use as bait anyway as they are invasive. You saying a Got-cha plug will run 30-50' feet deep from a shore line cast? Interested...but not sure they will do what I need. Similar to a Lyman, I am sure they work, just not entirely sure if they will work for what I am doing. These are freshwater trout and salmon I am talking about...none of them touch saltwater in their entire lives...landlocked, all of 'em.
New subscriber. Been bing watching your videos. I want to make Lures now. I think I'd be more into soft plastic molds at first then go to hard baits. Love the videos
You got me inspired to make some lures. I'm going to watch all your 1 day videos and try to mimic some of those baits till I get a bearing on this craft. I watch your videos as I work on mine. I'm attempting the Flub Dub. It's almost ready for painting. Going to try and make 1 of these next.
Great Job and nice technique on painting identifiable layers. When screwing into lead or (hard surfaces for that matter) matching proper drill size to the minor diameter of the screw is important. I mostly use my dial calipers then play with the tolerance based on tightness (or softness). My father taught me to use wax on screws where snapping screws off is a concern. I wonder it this would work with lead?
Can you show us your new camera? How about a musical instrument lure? I remember you saying that you played piano; would a piano lure be to hard? Loving your videos; my first one was the gnarly bluegill lure you made; I was crazed that it was even possible to make something that good!☺️ Lol, did you see how fast those 3 baits sold out? Man, I’d like to get my hands on one of those.
