I’m in south west Florida and works perfect for me, broadcast spread 10-10-10 granules. Wash them down about 3/4 what I normally would without 2-4-d. Let it stand about 15-20 mins, proceed to apply 2-4-d. Knocks it all out in one job and I have zero burn. Perfection.

I just renovated my yard with tall fescue, I had Creeping Charlie coming up. So I sprayed Speed Zone after 3-4 mows, Waited one week in between applications. I’m waiting one more week to fertilize…

Funny you say that. I've got one scheduled for tomorrow that will sorta give an update. Construction is way behind. There's so much going on in my area and not enough subs to handle it. We've got blocking and gravel. Plumbing and a slab should go in this week, fingers crossed. I'll get a more in-depth update when we have some more action going on. Thanks again man.
I can't seem to find just Weed Block granules anywhere, I used to use weed block all the time and granule fertilizer except this year I can't find weed block granules. I spot spray if I see a weed or I pull it out. My Zoysia grass is thick and green. But now part of my lawn has a torpedo grass infestation!

I have to mow at 2.5 inches in some areas on Bermuda🤦♂️ watching from Texas but originally from the natural state , WOO PIG!🐗🏈

Hello, thanks for your video. I want to kill the weeds in my lawn and begin to fertilize, but according to what you said I shouldnt put down 10 10 10 after sparying weed killer down correct?
Correct. The fert needs watered in but you don’t want to water after spraying weed killer. So you could spray them wait a couple days before fertilizing. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Congrats on 5000. Been following you since last summer. Que8for you. I pur Sunniland 0-0-7 pte emergent with crabgrass controll last fall and March 1. Still have weeds. Some say put more pre emergent down. My son says wait till May and pit it down same time I put Sunniland 20-0-7 with weed control. What are your thoughts?
Thank you. Appreciate your long-term support! Yeah, weeds can still show up even with pre-emergent. I've got some spots in my yard even after applying. I don't think more pre-emergent is the way to go. I apply every 3 months or so from Sept. thru March, but nothing during the summer. The heat will kill a lot of the cool season weeds out right now. If the weeds are already there, a post-emergent is needed to kill the ones that won't go away. Thanks for the question. Hope this helps.

When you say synthetic lawn weed killer does that include products like Round Up Safe for Lawns weed killer? I am working on my lawn on getting rid of weeds and was considering throwing a weed and feed after throwing Round Up. However watching your video clarified a flaw in doing that which is the Round Up should not be watered. Meanwhile weed and feeds recommend lawns to be watered or with dew before application and then on a good watering schedule. Am I understanding correctly? I appreciate the video!!
When I reference synthetic, I’m talking about synthetic fertilizer as opposed to an organic. Synthetic - water in Organic - doesn’t have to be watered in Pre emergent - water in Post emergent - do not water in I don’t care for weed and feed products. I want the two tasks to be separate. Good question. I assume you have cool season grass? I have bermuda, so I don't seed to fill in bare spots. It spreads quickly on its own. Therefore, I don't have first-hand experience to give you. However, if it were me, I would try to kill off as much weeds as possible, wait a few weeks, then start my seeding project. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the question.
@@BudgetLawns yeah I should have clarified a bit more, my fault. I have a bare almost dirt backyard with random grass and weeds. I'm wanting to put down Bermuda grass seed to match my beautiful established front yard. Just don't know which to do first. I'm leaning toward applying the grass seed and weed after grass is established.
Yeah that helps a lot. If the back yard is almost bare, then yes, I would seed first and get it really established before worrying about weeds. Weeds aren't that big of a deal and can be taken care of easily in the future. They'll just pop back up during the seeding project anyway. Thanks for the extra details. Good luck and keep me posted!
Can liquid aerator and roundup weed+grass killer be applied at the same time. I was told I have to wait 4-6 weeks before applying lawn starter fert and sowing the seeds? If it’s true to wait that long between applications of liquid aerator and then another wait for lawn starter fertilizer then I may wait to liquid aerate in the spring
I've never aerated or used liquid aerator so I can't speak to that. But yes, you'll want to wait at least a few weeks after using a weed and grass killer to spread your seeds. Thanks for watching.
I completely understand these senecios so that being said. I will be doing senerio number 3. I am going to apply johnathan greene weed and feed, so how long should I wait before I apply grub-ex?, I know gurb-ex needs to be watered in where as weed and feed needs to stay on the lawn for at lease two day before rain.
@@BudgetLawns wow. thanks for the fast response. I understand. But I'm in Ohio and I've seen my neighbors having grubs so I have been doing a very good job at them not damaging my lawn. I love weed stop as well and I have used it, and it has worked as well for me but I don't think weed stop has grub control.

Correct. The fert needs watered in but you don’t want to water after spraying weed killer. So you could spray them wait a couple days before fertilizing. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Congrats on 5000. Been following you since last summer. Que8for you. I pur Sunniland 0-0-7 pte emergent with crabgrass controll last fall and March 1. Still have weeds. Some say put more pre emergent down. My son says wait till May and pit it down same time I put Sunniland 20-0-7 with weed control. What are your thoughts?
Thank you. Appreciate your long-term support! Yeah, weeds can still show up even with pre-emergent. I've got some spots in my yard even after applying. I don't think more pre-emergent is the way to go. I apply every 3 months or so from Sept. thru March, but nothing during the summer. The heat will kill a lot of the cool season weeds out right now. If the weeds are already there, a post-emergent is needed to kill the ones that won't go away. Thanks for the question. Hope this helps.

Milorganite can pretty much be applied at the same time as anything.

When you say synthetic lawn weed killer does that include products like Round Up Safe for Lawns weed killer?
I am working on my lawn on getting rid of weeds and was considering throwing a weed and feed after throwing Round Up. However watching your video clarified a flaw in doing that which is the Round Up should not be watered. Meanwhile weed and feeds recommend lawns to be watered or with dew before application and then on a good watering schedule. Am I understanding correctly?

When I reference synthetic, I’m talking about synthetic fertilizer as opposed to an organic.
Synthetic - water in
Organic - doesn’t have to be watered in
Pre emergent - water in
Post emergent - do not water in

What about throwing overseeding in the mix? I have weeds and needing to add grass seed to fill in the bare spots. What would you do first?
Good question. I assume you have cool season grass? I have bermuda, so I don't seed to fill in bare spots. It spreads quickly on its own. Therefore, I don't have first-hand experience to give you. However, if it were me, I would try to kill off as much weeds as possible, wait a few weeks, then start my seeding project. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the question.
@@BudgetLawns yeah I should have clarified a bit more, my fault. I have a bare almost dirt backyard with random grass and weeds. I'm wanting to put down Bermuda grass seed to match my beautiful established front yard. Just don't know which to do first. I'm leaning toward applying the grass seed and weed after grass is established.
Yeah that helps a lot. If the back yard is almost bare, then yes, I would seed first and get it really established before worrying about weeds. Weeds aren't that big of a deal and can be taken care of easily in the future. They'll just pop back up during the seeding project anyway. Thanks for the extra details. Good luck and keep me posted!

Can liquid aerator and roundup weed+grass killer be applied at the same time. I was told I have to wait 4-6 weeks before applying lawn starter fert and sowing the seeds? If it’s true to wait that long between applications of liquid aerator and then another wait for lawn starter fertilizer then I may wait to liquid aerate in the spring
I've never aerated or used liquid aerator so I can't speak to that. But yes, you'll want to wait at least a few weeks after using a weed and grass killer to spread your seeds. Thanks for watching.

I completely understand these senecios so that being said. I will be doing senerio number 3. I am going to apply johnathan greene weed and feed, so how long should I wait before I apply grub-ex?, I know gurb-ex needs to be watered in where as weed and feed needs to stay on the lawn for at lease two day before rain.
I'd wait until that day or two has passed and you can apply whenever. I do not use grub control products though. Thanks for watching.

I love weed stop as well and I have used it, and it has worked as well for me but I don't think weed stop has grub control.
