We were so excited to come across your videos. My wide (Veda) and (I) Richard lived aboard our sailboat Dreamcatcher for 10 years, sailing Florida waters and the Bahamas and the Caribbean. I have also done deliveries of boats from the Virgin Islands to the Northeast US. Now in our 70s our sailing days are behind us. It has always been a dream to traverse the French canals. We both admit to being francophiles at heart. Today we were happily surprised to come across a video of your stay in Antibes. We were there from mid-October to just before Christmas this past Fall and loved being reminded of all Antibes had to offer. It is certainly possible we saw your boat from the ramparts. Sailboats seem to catch our eye. And it was not possible to miss Dilbar! Thanks for bringing back memories. We are considering making Antibes a permanent home. Your video reminds us of why. Be safe. Continue to celebrate life. Stay in touch through your journey.
In 2008, my wife used to work as a day laborer on the Boadicea, a 76 meter yacht that was parked in the Port of Antibes. Then she worked as the Stewardess on a 92' Mangusta called Number Five, ported in Port de Mandelieu-la-Napoule.
Ahhhh! Thank you for the Absinthe in Antibes episode! Wonderful presentation! Even absent that gentle tug of absinthe's influence on your mariner's musings, Hemingway, I am sure, would have approved of your art form.
We can’t stop watching your beautiful, calming adventures!! I had to drop a comment on this video though. I feel I’m love with this city a couple of years back. Hubby and I, much like you two, needed to stay longer than expected and I’m my alone time walked the streets and feel more in love with each step. Thank you for sharing your journey and letting us all go with you! 💞
F8 here, being rocked tonight, chimes are ringing in the cabin, ropes are 'singing' in marina from the wind and the rain, snuggled down with the warm air heater blasting out, what more is needed? Yes it's Friday night and Magic Carpet is here, out with a tot of Rum and an evenings entertainment is guaranteed from these fine sailors!
It’s good to see you both, it’s like some sunshine in our lives, stay safe and be well! The weather in this episode is about what we have now with 50-60 mph wind gusts.
Thanks. Cape Cod and fog, drizzle, stay at home blahs. Another beautiful video with beautiful music. I also recommend your channel to sailing friends who want to know more about cruising life.
Too bad you didn't find the Blue Lady Pub. It's a favorite of many yacht crew and has a great full English breakfast. I try to go there at least once on every visit to our home in Saint Paul.
Yes a real time update would be nice , Just make sure your safe wherever you are. Enjoyed the tale, I tried Absinthe Back in my younger dumber days (about your age now lol) from what I'm told it was the best 3 days I can't remember.
Happy memories of family holidays along the South coast, and working days at the Monaco GP, but tinged with a little sadness as my Farther spent his last days on his boat in Sete. But thank you for a great video, stay safe and virus free :-))) xx
Hi guys. We stopped off there last season going the opposite way. There were lots of sculptures by David David, we showed them in our video did you see them? Really odd but good to look at. Sail Safe guys. Ant, Cid and the pooch crew.
Hi guys - always looking forward to new footage from my favs, and even though you stayed in early fall, Antibes is just lovely :-) Btw. you're absolutely right in regards to the Dilbar ... she's a floating mansion - and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she's the biggest single project Lürssen has ever built. Awesome piece of tech ;-)
You could take your beautiful boat to a place where there is no virus. Unfortunately it is every where in the world. Take care of your selves prayers for every one on the planet.
Lovely sailing couple!! ❤️ Maya, could you tell us how do you record your violin? Thank you both for sharing how you’re actually living your dream, it’s very inspiring. I’m a composer and pianist from Madrid who has decided to set sail this next June so hope we meet one day!
Worst weather I ever sailed in was from Corsica back to Nice. (I lived near Antibes for a few years - lovely.) Question, if I may (and if you have a moment), I'm curious what mic/video camera combination you used to record the scenes around Antibes, when there was a lot of wind? (No wind noise on your recording - very good).
I really appreciate your videos. Have followed your adventures for a year and a half now. But do miss the cost of the marinas you have been at. Decided to take me down to the Mediterranean this year ... but I don't know what the Corona virus brings with it ....!? But prices for different marinas would be top,,,,! Best regards. Piéro Mengarelli / Stockholm Sweden
Hi Piero! Thanks so much for watching! We did actually mention marina cost in this video, and what we mentioned is pretty typical for the different seasons. In the summer for a boat our size, harbours in Italy are typically between 30-50 euros a night. In the fall, that goes down to about 15 euros a night.
Hi Maya, love your videos! The audio is a little hard to understand on the voice-over narrations. It seems like there is too much bass and not enough treble.
Thank you! We are totally aware of the news and are currently in isolation ourselves - not because we're sick, just because it's the right thing to do at the moment!
Pardon my curiosity, What languages do you both speak? My guess is aside of English Maya has French and well Alardino, the obvious Italian, French , German, and......?
Brian Johnston why make such a jerky comment. People are completely freaking out and destroying businesses worldwide. Don't understand the panic. Surely you understand that most TH-cam channels are weeks/months behind real time.

Oh, you reminded me I have a bottle of Absinthe in my cupboard from my last journey to France.....Ohhhhhhhh the memories.
Ive just discovered this channel. Wow, what a beautiful life you are living, this was a really relaxing watch.

I love watching your adventures. Thank you so very much.
Thanks for watching!
Such a beautiful city. Thanks for all your hard work, sharing with us.
Very nice as always. Wonderfull soundtracks. Love from PK
The covered Provençal Market is a delight in the morning but not in summer!!

Absinthe! Classic, thank you!
Great chemistry you have for each other, it´s nice to see.
It’s great to see you both having the adventure of your life, take care .
Great pleasure watching again!
Very Nice
⛵ Lovely place to visit. You made it special. Safe sailing.
Locked down and watching Sailing Magic Carpet ...what more do you need?.....
ಠ_ಠ Ummm..yes I guess that may be a necessity! We’ve got plenty of pasta!
It’s good to see you both, it’s like some sunshine in our lives, stay safe and be well! The weather in this episode is about what we have now with 50-60 mph wind gusts.
Very nice views, be safe and your story telling is amazing
I am sure life could be a whole lot tougher, always lovely to see the happenings of the week. Thank you for sharing the adventure.
Thanks. Cape Cod and fog, drizzle, stay at home blahs. Another beautiful video with beautiful music.
I also recommend your channel to sailing friends who want to know more about cruising life.
Thank you so much Norman! I hope the drizzle and fog brightens up for you soon!
@@SailingMagicCarpet Yes, we have fog/sun/fog all the time. Wish I had left the boat in this winter so I could sail away now. Stay well
Got my yacht there too ... fixed berth

Nice, Dee and Deb
Thank you. Another great video! I’m making a list of places to visit when the world is Safer again and just added Antibes to the list 😎👍
So glad to hear it Susan!
Thank you for your music. 2 requests- crepuscule with nellie and trumpet hornpipe.
Just discovered you! What a lovely couple you are!
If ever you come near ISCHIA come and visit!!!!
Great footage as always! Love it! Stay safe. Kind like your new dockage. Noticed the mast is down - were you heading up the canals or taking a break?
Beatiful trip 🌹🌹🌹❤
Absinthe & dentist visit not normally mentioned in the same sentence, lol
Great clip you guys !
Yes, keep the horses fed. You never know when you may need them.
Hi, greetings from Turkey... 👋
Off season is the best season; unless everything is closed 🙁

You'll need a big boat for your piano, Felix!

“Its fkn hot” lol 😆 💚💙🤙
This girl is too pretty. What was the video about? I noticed some boats in the video :-)
Hoping you have a nice place for weather, re covid19
Hi guys
How is this quarantine affecting your sailing and where you can go?
It’s affecting it a lot! We currently aren’t able to move. However, we have enough videos stored up for two or three months of regular posting still!
I really appreciate your videos. Have followed your adventures for a year and a half now.
But do miss the cost of the marinas you have been at.

And good luck in the future !
I realy love your boat.... It´s perfekt. And very beatiful.
Best regards Piéro
So, is your friend a sailor also? He seems to know his way around the boat!
👍!
Hi,
these socks are not more than a good start!
In Antibes you should wear true "Golf-socks", only real with 18 holes!
have fun
what month of the year was this filmed?
Hi Maya, love your videos! The audio is a little hard to understand on the voice-over narrations. It seems like there is too much bass and not enough treble.
Ed Picard hi all, like Ed, love the videos but have a wee listen to your audio. Like Ed says, probably a bass treble thing.
The sky is not as blue as ur eyes!!!!!
Guys, be careful of coronavirus. Lots of died in Italy. More to come. Wear masks and better isolate yourself. Don't be in crowded places. Stay safe
Thank you! We are totally aware of the news and are currently in isolation ourselves - not because we're sick, just because it's the right thing to do at the moment!
I have to turn up the volume during Maya's narration because of the Muddy Microphone.
Sorry Mike! That will be fixed in upcoming videos.
Pardon my curiosity, What languages do you both speak? My guess is aside of English Maya has French and well Alardino, the obvious Italian, French , German, and......?
Y español pero de Mexico:)

Sailing Magic Carpet So I was almost right? Saludos
Antibes is lovely, worse places to get stuck
Don,t you get a little cracy, by drinking Absinte?
The Greeks made it to Antibes? Go figure.
It is the Greeks who founded Massilia (Marseilles), Nikaia (Nice) and "Anitibeo" (if I remember well, Antibes).
The world is in lock down and you are sailing port to port. I am surprised that someone isn’t making you stay put.
Hi Brian! This video was filmed in the fall, like it says in the first few seconds of the film. We are, indeed, staying put currently.
Brian Johnston why make such a jerky comment. People are completely freaking out and destroying businesses worldwide. Don't understand the panic. Surely you understand that most TH-cam channels are weeks/months behind real time.
@@SailingMagicCarpet I'm glad you guys are safe.
So you don`t understand what stay home means???
As you can see in the first few seconds of this film, this was all filmed last autumn. We are indeed in isolation right now:
