Hi everyone! Just a note to clear up confusion: our videos are ALWAYS delayed by a few months (it takes time to edit everything!), and now is no exception. The footage you're seeing here is from BEFORE covid-19 swept the world. That's why there's big crowds on the street, and why we're going to land. Aladino and I ARE in lockdown on board Magic Carpet now. Hope you enjoy the film! -Maya

So Cassis was Fall 2019? Maya, where in Canada did you grow-up?
Obviously your Parents sent you to learn Violin, as you are very accomplished @ playing the Violin 🎻. How did you end-up in Switzerland 🇨🇭 & being able to work there as well. What a wonderful life you both have Sailing ⛵️!!!

It is remarkable how many of the smaller Mediterranean towns have the same feeling. Maltese small villages are quite similar too. I do know Port saint Louis du Rhône as I stopped there once to see a boat. Coastline from Cassis to Marseilles is very interesting. Looking forward to seeing it next week or whenever you grace us again with your many talents. 🙏

I took 6 seperate wonderful weeks in variety of seasons on the historic schooner Stephen Taber on the Penobscot in Maine. After my dad died my mom and I sailed for a week on the Taber and I decided to keep returning eventually meeting the love of my life on one voyage , marrying and raising two fine children.... Captain Ken, tall thick grey beard and gentle eyes he would often play his bagpipe at sunset standing in the bow serenading the other ships at anchor in the harbor of some isle on the bay. Oh your last piece is wonderful!!

This is one of my favorite places. I hope you are not boat-bound to the extent that you miss getting out and about. Just steps beyond harbor of Cassis is a walk through an intimate maze between ancient apartments and shops. An hour hike can bring you to the Calanque d'En-Vau (which you show arriving by water.) Approaching on foot, though, takes you on trails winding way above and the views down are unequalled. A short car (Uber?) ride in the opposite direction can take you to the very top of the Route de Cretes which may be the most spectacular perch in all of the cote d'azur.

Got a question for you: Do you have a "Stopper" for your anchor??? A "Stopper" is a chain or rope to prevent losing your anchor over-board if your windless malfunctions or heavy weather causes the anchor to be lost... So glad that you folks have a heater on board!!! Your first harbor reminded me so much of Villia France near Nice... Cheers

Just absolutely wonderful, hearing Maya playing it brought to mind something she had said about some saying she over dubs and what we hear is not live. It must be great to be so good at music that you can tell the difference off of a recording(NOT), for me I just love hearing your playing Maya, no matter what method you use to upload, I feel that it is live, just the vibs I great. Hope this finds both of you feel I still virus free, take care and stay safe.

Beautiful tune. Excellent way to say goodbye to the sun for the day. You play it well. Probably a little more nuance (ppp - pp - mf -pp - ppp) and a little more vibrato would sound even better. If I tried to play on the bow of Magic Carpet I would probably end up in the water … A violin, a boat and a sunset, how romantic is that? … For the next sunset Aladino will recite a French poem to my best friend the sun, and to his viewers … (google search is the source, man) … Where are you going Lucca? … In the “unreal” world you don’t have to wear a mask … Stay until the quarantine ends, the unreal world has always been healthier … The last tune was really beautiful … it’s like the heartfelt chant of a black slave of the 19th century … 👍
