As always great review. I think the reason that there is no IR built is the box was designed to be hidden to the back of your TV hence the short HDMI cable and the IR cable supplied. Again thanks for all you great reviews past and present.
Great review as always! I guess that the idea here is to place this box behind your TV. So you can charge it from usb and that is why you have the IR output through the cable...
Snapdragon uses the same A53 chips as in these boxes, but requires a US Qualcomm license which would increase the cost of the box. Also Snapdragon provides the complete telephone chipset including 3G/4G modems etc which are not required in these boxes.

The pricing is about the same, but if I'm reading your spreadsheet correctly, the specs on this box is better than that of the Mi Box. What am I missing that you ranked the Mi Box 4 in 6th place on your list? The X3 Pro seems to have more ram/ better ram, better cpu, Android 9, and is extremely customizable. The only advantages of the Mi Box 4 appears to be Netflix 4k and voice assistance. Please help me to get a better understanding of your rating system here. I like Netflix and voice assistance, but those two pluses, don't seem to add up to the benefits of the X3 Pro, when it has a better graphics rating as a whole, better ram, and processor. Thanks in advance for any clarity you can provide.
When it comes to retrogaming, apart from the not-too-difficult-to-emulate systems (eg: Megadrive, SNES...), what could we realistically expect from a box like the Ugoos X3 PRO? What about Saturn, N64, PS1 etc.? Thanks

Looks like an awesome box my android keypad doesn’t have option to turn on and off I assume it has a shield like turn off inside settings? Looks great but I wouldn’t buy as a main device or just just to play around with
Roy Clayton - I'm sure your keypad can turn the box off, if not the are apps in the Playstore to provide the function. Turning on is a problem because there is no power to the USB dongle where your keypad connects, if you think about it, there is no way apart from the dedicated remote to turn ANY TV box on.
You can get the same processor and a great device with an x96max+ 4gb/64 at ali express for $38 or so. I paid $36.49 in December and they usually have a coupon, the x96max+ is as fast as any device out there when your using it in your daily use of all your apps and games.
Most people get the box connect to the internet and stream all the content they want. There are loads of apps in the Playstore to stream video, music & all. When you get brave enough you can stop paying for cable TV and just stream everything as well as any locally stored movies you have. It's smart TV on steroids.

ps1 should be fine.. i'm using retroarch pcsx arm core with s905w tx3 max..

Does the Tether port supports at least 250Mbps internet speeds and up? 5G wifi? A lot of these China boxes don't support high speeds...

Settings look awesome instead of installing. Aida64 etc & toot switch. you can get all info I like it I agree with your placement. Just not for me
