amazing to see that over the years, still the Nvidia Shield is still the best one....not much progress has been made in 5 years for android tv boxes
Yeah because there is only so much they can do.
Keep updating the processor and ram but having awful software and lack of proper support from the likes of Netflix etc always holds them back.
I don't any doubt about it, Nvidia Shield TV Pro is the best of the best, personally I don't see any close to it in the market! just could be by the price only.

This type of android box is stagnant, just keep pumping them with more low quality ram and sub par SOCS all with half arsed UI.
Nvidia shield has alot of issues just look at the reviews

Could you do a comparison with color reproduction on all your boxes, looking for the box with best reproduction, blooming, saturation, black level ,ect.

I just said to myself. What’s bee link doing??. ( Busy Making too many mini PCs). I feel like Ugoos has taken that beelink reputation for the their higher standard device , atleast temporarily, interested in what they release next, but you if you’re an “android box wiz” you can do so many things on this with all these different ports.

agree, but i prefere Amlogic socs. when we will see x64 Amlogic octa core in some Beelink or Ugoos? i like to buy them, not rockchip based device.
The box looks good for anyone just cutting the cord and probably could use a few more updates but plays 4k perfectly.

Seems to be very difficult for android box makers to actually make a 4k box that supports the major streaming services.

You buy an Android TV box without the DRM certificates only once. It's a very frustrating experience messing with modded streaming apks and only to run it in 480p
Great and detailed review as always. Does this allow Google Meet and/or Google Duo to be installed from the Google Play Store? Checking if it can be used for conference calls with family overseas.

Based on this video, I bought the most faulty device in my life. Can you tell us how to fix these faults?
So in a nuthsell it can play local files and TH-cam, considering Netflix is limited to SD, Amazon Prime to SD and Disney+ doesn't work at all. What would be the point of buying it then? Just get a Chromecast with Google TV or a Fire Stick. Pointless device IMO.
If your looking to stream strictly certified apps and that’s it. Then absolutely don’t even consider this , it’s for a completely different type of user. Who dont use them just to install Google streaming apps that you pay for. you Stil get 4k in Kodi & plex and any other app or Apk. But also . Retro gaming up to ps2 as well. Tons of ideas 💡 it’s a device you can self modify to fit all your needs. I stream 4k DV & don’t have any of those Google certified apps on my devices. I’m capable of it but even on my shield I disable Netflix & prime.

Netflix is too strict with their certification. Much better options available than Netflix.
Xiaomi tv box is good support chromecast and netflix certified

I have a Ugoos AM6+ and it works very well but does have some issues, but as good as I think the unit is I also think the support is worthless as they are unwilling or unable to help at all
AM6+ is still best overall? only old android 9 is what i dont like.. os from 2018. in 2021. device.. they shall upgrade it to at least android 10.
They’ve already been adding ota updates to this rock chip version which means very likely to continue. To make it a better device than it is, Not a Rick chip fan. I am a Ugoos fan. And. So far this is looking like rock chip may have started to figure it out finally. I wouldn’t buy it. Nobody needs 8gb of Ram on android box btw. But this would be very nice purchase at 75-80$
@@claytonee1291 sure, i ordered amlogic ugoos am6b it will be good for next 2 years, S905x2 in Beelonk GT1 mini is become little lazy for my needs.
My ugoos am6b 2021 came and works good, it is 3x faster than beelink amlogic s905x2. Good for next 3 years.

It sounds like amazing box for a certain crowd but my $20 Onn 4k android tv box is pretty amazing everything just works.
May as well get a Mecool KM2 pro, half the price with widevine 1
I do prefer L1 in my boxes. KM2 Pro is pretty good.

yes if you want android tv os.. if you dont like it on box, but pure stock android, it is good choice. i have android tv on my Sony bravia, but it is highly uncustomable.

Nice video as usual. I don't think I'd get another android box. They have too many drawbacks. The funny thing is that, a lot of people get them and complain about what they can't do. I bought the new Apple TV box over the holidays, only because I had a $200 gift card. It's a really nice box if you like Apple products. I have Netflix, Prime, Emby, Plex, Apple TV, Disney,TH-cam, Kodi and 2 separate IPTV subscriptions on it just to name a few. Plus you can get much more.

install octopus keymapper by apk and do keymapping settings with wireless keyboard+mouse and/or a wireless/bluetooth gamepad. install asphalt9, pubgmobile, codmobile, pes2021mobile, mortalkombatmobile, injustice-mobile, KOF-mobile and then test android box devices on these games.(different games will need different keymapping settings)
Spent too much time trying to pack the box wih features that they neglected the necessity for anyone that requires anything more than SD on two of the most popular platforms, and can't play Disney at all, even a £35 Kickpi K1 can do that 😳.
Can buy an Nvidia Shield for that price.

I noticed it comes with "Total Commander" - That's an app that lets you access PC formatted drives isn't it? If so, have you tried accessing a backup USB drive formatted to NTFS on this thing? 🤔🤔 As I would like to ditch my old Win 7 Dell PC and go full on Android for media/everything else setup (I currently have 1000's of films on one of my backup drives and, it's a bitch Android won't as standard talk to NTFS drives... 😒 😎🇬🇧

It’s made for a whole different type of user than anyone with Apple tv. This is capable of users making it into a self modified device to fit individual needs just have to put the work in. And you can do anything. It’s definitely not meant for just certified steaming.

Seriously? With antennas no less. What is this? A Fred Flintstone Android box. Manufacturers don't care what they put out there as long as they get something out there. I haven't stopped laughing yet.
the reason people buy these types of devices are not for the paid apps. this device has issues running apps of unknown sources. there is a serious optimization issue running APK's and KODI. i have a AM6 (4 gig of ram) and it runs smoother than this box. TH-cam has issues on this device and even the Play Store don't have the apps I'm use to. the UT8 Pro is far from what i expected. You don't feel the 8 gigs of ram and this is coming from a UGOOS fan. I'm waiting for the next update hoping it gets better
