I absolutely love that the characters from multiple universes all interact and reside in one place... and HOLY BALLS I LOVE HOW THEY'RE ALL IN CHARACTER!!! This is so fun to watch it's like getting extra cartoon time.
luvkirby4ever You'd be happy to know that the comic book publisher IDW publishing currently does cartoon network comics and has done two crossover series
This has to be the golden years, they reached the point where every show was loved (and toonami was still awesome) to where they could spend extra cash to have this amazing place designed and brought a whole new life to them! How i miss CN city, There will never be anything like this ever again, it was every kids dream
Something I love about old Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon was the collaborative subtle crossovers outside the shows for promos and all. You barley see that now.
+HighLevi you also don't see cartoon network with variety in it' schedule....we can blame that on adultswim being more popular these days and eating up time slots
All's I'm saying is this was the golden age, any kid born after this era doesn't know what they missed out on. Also your username is pretty inaccurate. Don't think a shy girl would say something so rude >_>
Kk, dunno what your problem is but getting into an argument with this just isn't worth it. Fighting is sort of like an eternal spiral staircase, it plunges downwards into an abyss of darkness with no end. And the further you go down the more dark is becomes 'till nobody knows whats going on but your still throwing punches, y'know? Just trying to claim a victory. Sorry but that doesn't happen on TH-cam. NOBODY wins an argument. Not you, not me, nobody. So let's just call this a truce and walk separate ways (not literally, of course!) You have your opinion that I'm an arrogant a-hole, and I have my opinion that your rude! I'm willing to accept that's what a stranger thinks of me so that I can continue my life in ease. And you don't have to accept my opinion, your choice after all. I won't be responding to the next comment, but I'm sure your a real nice person IRL, we just got off on the wrong foot here on TH-cam as many others have. Have a nice day, ma'am/sir! :)
You never appreciate the good things about you're childhood till your reminded of how amazing some things were. This was definitely one of those things. RIP CN City aka The Third Era of cartoon network, you are loved and you are missed.
There was so much warmth, love, and fun. I could feel the creators joy in making these. Because of that, I could connect with them. If they can't bring back the shows, at least bring back the city jingles. I'd love it.
I wonder sometimes if CNN realizes how much f**king money they would make if they brought this concept back. Let alone if they showed shows like Megastar XLR, Teen Titans (mention TT Go you die), Mucha Lucha and that. Even if it's just reruns people would watch it.
+SilentTrtlDragon yeah i hate that....apparently they weren't making enough money with boomerang to keep it around as it's former self(Little to no commercials and a channel devoted to reruns had little value to them)
The problem is, none of those shows would do as well today as they did back then. Kids have far different senses of humor now and we have to remember that Cartoon Network isnt only about the fans of the network. If you have Boomerang, though, they show Dexter's Lab, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and a few other CN originals. They're also gonna start showing Space Ghost Coast to Coast 4 nights a week on CN.
Man even though these were all just commercials that would interrupt your weekly or Saturday morning cartoons when it's about to get to the bet part, these were commercials that you wouldn't mind have watching man. I remember me and my brother just watching this and enjoying the greatness of cartoon network man it just awesome especially the year 2006 because that was when ben 10 appeared
what do you mean exactly? Cartoon Network was good all throughout the 90s to mid 2000s. Do you mean by eras as in CN city was great but you wish you experienced the powerhouse era as well with Cartoon Cartoon Fridays? or the checkerboard era?
Megas XLR was such a gem of a show. I completely forgot about that show but I always remembered it in the back of my mind. I forgot the name but remembered the 3 characters and the giant robot
Man, take me back! I know the 90s was good and all, but the 2000s took the 90s and added the awesome tunes during the 2000s and gave us something we'd never forget. THIS is the golden era, an er that'll probably never be topped as literally every show, old and new, was on fire. Man, it'd be nice to have a channel or something. And don't even get me started on Toonami at the time too...or Adult Swim. Not to mention Nick and Disney were hot around this time too.
I agree! I freaking LOVED the 90's with all my heart, especially on Cartoon Network, but they managed to make an upgrade in the 2000's that worked phenomenally.
I just realized how brilliant this is; have the characters interact with each other so you can see situations only fanfictions could create (most of which would be bad) and advertise your other shows in hilarious ways that don't feel like commercials. Why did they end this?
Carl Bloke Sorry, what I mean by this is that back then Cartoon Network seemed like it was original and at its best. Today, most of its shows lack creativity like Teen Titans Go, Uncle Grandpa, PowerPuff Girls Remake, etc. But that doesn't mean all of its shows are bad. One of today's good cartoons are regular show, Steven universe, etc.
Electric Lasagna yeah you're right. Back then CN actually knew when to be creative and not just some of the time but all the time. Now all they care about is ratings seeing as how TTG and Powerpuff Girls sole reason was for that
Im so glad I got to grow up with these great cartoons...it makes me cry because i miss being a kid and watching them everyday T_T....this cartoon city idea was such a unique concept, how they made all the areas look realistic
The fact that CN animated an entire city (3D and 2D), hired the voice actors, and practically did this for only commercial success, is BEYOND IMPRESSIVE!
This tying of all the cartoon worlds as if they were just employees of CN was genius. It even spurted some neat skits you'd never see otherwise. Was probably costly to do though, I mean the production quality is Toonami level.
I was the lead on this project. We wanted to pitch CN city to the guys in Atlanta, but the production company we worked for thought it was below them at the time. We were going to add a bunch of failed and out of work characters trying to make it in a city of celebrity characters. From what I recall if you took all of the bumpers, interstitials, etc that we did back to back they come in just over an hour. Working with the team at CN in Atlanta was an absolute dream. I disagree with the people that say CN has lost it. Regular Show is one of the best shows ever.
YES! Finally, we have someone, and it's the guy that was the God for CN City! Please, spread the word, and maybe there would be less redundant "EVERYTHING OLD IS GOOD, WAAAAAAH, EVERYTHING NEW IS BAD, WAAAAAAAAH!!!!!"
Growing up is a trap!! Stay young, please value everything you have when your young and healthy because once you grow up its all down hill from there. i watched this video and time traveled oh how i wish i could stay there!
Fernando Valles yea all that is great but it was also nice to sit around playing video games and not having to work and all you had to worry about what when that science project was due so you can do it at the last minute
Almost five years ago, wow. If anyone has old Cartoon Network tapes on their computers, (or actual tapes) from the City Era or earlier (full tapes) contact me at killboypowerhead2@gmail.com. I have many Cartoon Network shows and tapes to trade or share.
Ah, back when Cartoon Network was awesome. I'm not saying the likes of Adventure Time, Regular Show, or the Amazing World of Gumball are bad or anything, but i'm just saying that i grew up with this version of Cartoon Network and it will always have a place in my heart.
The only shows on CN I'd watch nowdays are Johnny Test, Regular Show, Teen Titans Go! and any reruns of classics like Kids Next Door, Billy and Mandy, Ed, Edd, n Eddy etc. Due to all of the stupidity in these other shows nowdays.
brought me all back the great memories how i loved every single episode of every show , i dont like much shows these days but still i love the fact they are still rerunning the good old shows , no matter , these cartoons are IMMORTAL and live in my brain and heart , FOREVER! never feel down guys , they can still live in our hearts , and great memories we can relive. MEGAS XLR was my favorite , my kick to pre-puberty in a weird way!
Ah, back when CN was in its golden years. My childhood years were well meant, especially since whoever is the new director of CN drove it into the ground....
It is pretty amazing. I wonder how it was in diffrent countries when it come to the voices I know in some older ones with Super Friends characters there are other voices but for the Toon City when Foster Home and Camp Lazlo aired it had to have been the original voices right?. In Sweden they managed to get all the voices for this and that is usually hard becuse not everyone was from the same dubbing studio. Normally you ask one of them to dub this and it ain´t easy just to get the voices from other places in to dub thier characters.
I wanna go back to the early 2000's EVRYTHING ON TV WAS GREAT BACK THEN! THIS CARTOON NETWORK, OLD NICKELODEON WITH DRAKE AND JOSH, NEDS DECLASSIFIED SCHOOL SURVIVAL TIPS, ALL THAT, SPONGEBOB SEASON 1 AND 2, THE OLD DISNEY WITH THATS SO RAVEN, KIM POSSIBLE, CORY IN THE HOUSE, EVEN WRESTLING WAS GREAT BACK THEN.............DAMN HAS TIME CHANGED :((( I wanna go back to my childhood
God I remember toon city, it started up when I was addicted to the CN, and man it was cool seeing all our favorite toons walking around in the same universe. All that nostalgia is rushing to me
Man I loved this time so much :/. Coming from school to home watching the funny CN TV, but in the years my stupid Satelite blocked the channel for ever. Im 18 now and I still can not believe how kids can watch the shit now in TV... This childhood was really great.
Just imagine characters from Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe interacting with each other and all the characters from classic CN shows like these bumpers. That would be AWESOME.
+ThePowergloveNinja Why not? It would be funny to see Ash mistake Jake for a Pokemon and try to catch him. Of course Finn would beat the shit out of him afterwards.
All these little shorts are absolutely priceless and amazing! Watching all these different characters interact with each other was truly the best and golden years of my childhood! Nothing will ever be able to top this! I really wish I could relive the last decade! (2000-2009)
seeing interaction between characters from different shows just feels so cool. I felt the same way when Cartoon Network was doing the 20th anniversary stuff. we need better bumpers on CN. probably shouldn't be a priority, but it would be nice. even the Noods (remember those?) were better than what we got now.
I like how all the cartoons know eachother. And how sometimes they might star in eachother shows. It kinda makes it feel like one big happy family :, ) There was this one episode of dexters laboratory and dee dee had like a powerpuffs doll in the backgrown. I like how they used to do little easter eggs like that : )
we could tell the people in majority who likes Teen Titan Go Teens only and older adults who likes Teen Titans to help us with getting back the original one but one hateful condition is that we have to keep Teen Titans Go for the fans that don`t get the show that`s ok i feel the same way too so either that or goodbye those great golden age cartoon network forever
I remember hating the city theme in 2004 when it replaced the original Cartoon Network, but now that 11 years have gone by, I definitely have some fondness for it!
apere431 And along came other good cartoons besides Tawog... The Sweet and Kind one.... Adventure time.... The Obnoxious but ridiculously funny......Regular Show And now we have Bullshit cartoons I was born in 1996 I should know.
Hahaha... Edd in the background XD This was when i was around eight or something and still in middle school. They always have some sort of cartoon network special and toonami was the kick!!! The nostalgia :3
I absolutely love that the characters from multiple universes all interact and reside in one place... and HOLY BALLS I LOVE HOW THEY'RE ALL IN CHARACTER!!! This is so fun to watch it's like getting extra cartoon time.
It's like the cartoons behind the scenes or a glimpse into their everyday lives. I loved ed edd n eddy they're so hilarious
luvkirby4ever You'd be happy to know that the comic book publisher IDW publishing currently does cartoon network comics and has done two crossover series
luvkirby4ever This is what the modern cartoons are lacking. Interaction with each other.
so sad but true.....the death of saturday morning cartoon blocks destroyed that completely
Fusion fall anyone
This has to be the golden years, they reached the point where every show was loved (and toonami was still awesome) to where they could spend extra cash to have this amazing place designed and brought a whole new life to them! How i miss CN city, There will never be anything like this ever again, it was every kids dream
Well, it wasn't perfect. Tickle U and Miguzi. Need I say more?
***** Dexter and Courage were still around at this time.
AllMightyKidBuu totally and I'm glade that the reboots does exist in this beautiful city
Can i move there to the city.
Austin Cooper
+HighLevi I agree.

+sonicawesomeness I know that bro! u.u
+xXt0x1c-sl1m3Xx Yeah, definitely! :) and it hurts all the more to know that the present day cartoon network is a load of crap by comparison.
Dexter roasted the professor "how many geniuses does it take to unlock a car door...why don't you use some chemical X haha"
Hahaha that part was pretty funny. I can't believe I forgot about that.

I cant believe I didnt appreciate these back then :'(
i miss the old shows soo much
Halcyon Xatu Cause kind of I look like him and I want to be like him :)
I am a 90s kid and this was the golden age of CN makes me sad to see CN die
Vilatoro same here it hurts to see what it turned into
Vilatoro the children of today will never see how great CN was back then and only get brainwashed by Teen Titans Go
Cartoon Network City was when Cartoon network was at it's best, this is so nostalgic
I know right it was awsome
***** Do you want some fries with that salt?
I dont get it
thank goodness this didn't turn out into one of those pointless youtube arguments
Kurumi Tokisaki yea I don't get it
I miss these old days…
It really felt like Cartoon City was real, full of life, had lots of potential, and a great sense of adventure.
wolfguy23 d-dont you say another word before i-i *bursts into tears of nostalgia*
Gameydudex 😢😢😢😢😢
I feel bad for the kids who weren't born into the golden age like me..
Fritz Michaelsen lol get over yourself.

Fritz Michaelsen No you sound like a arrogant a-hole. Saying "get over yourself" isn't rude lol plus it's the Internet I'll say whatever tf I want.

Brandon Banks i heard on twitter that they're going to bring back CN:city!
+Marcus Dandridge Link?
they failed to do it
its still good
nemsis turboverdirve how they failed?
There was so much warmth, love, and fun. I could feel the creators joy in making these. Because of that, I could connect with them. If they can't bring back the shows, at least bring back the city jingles. I'd love it.
You have no idea how much I miss Cartoon Network City...
I wonder sometimes if CNN realizes how much f**king money they would make if they brought this concept back. Let alone if they showed shows like Megastar XLR, Teen Titans (mention TT Go you die), Mucha Lucha and that. Even if it's just reruns people would watch it.
+Jordan Takeo I know right, you can't even watch old show on Boomerang anymore, now it's mostly a 2nd CN now.
+SilentTrtlDragon yeah i hate that....apparently they weren't making enough money with boomerang to keep it around as it's former self(Little to no commercials and a channel devoted to reruns had little value to them)
you aint lying I would watch it every
I might actually watch TV again if they did that
The problem is, none of those shows would do as well today as they did back then. I wish they would do this again with the newer cartoons on CN
Agreed!
Except for teen titans go

TheTimon64 Cartoon Cartoon made a secret comeback in 2011-2012.
South Gaming and Music
You mean Cartoon Planet? We'd be lucky to get Cartoon Cartoons back.
ULTRADJ4EVER No... Cartoon Cartoon actually came back for about two weeks.
South Gaming and Music
Wait, you're serious!? Oh man, how did I miss that! Why only two weeks? I guess that's how I missed it but man what a tease!
I loved this. The thing I liked about it was characters from other shows interacting with each other. That's what I enjoyed the most from this.
This just brings back so many great memories as a kid:)
Megas XLR was such a gem of a show. I completely forgot about that show but I always remembered it in the back of my mind. I forgot the name but remembered the 3 characters and the giant robot
Christian Maldonado it was Coop, Kiva, and Jamie
Man, take me back! I know the 90s was good and all, but the 2000s took the 90s and added the awesome tunes during the 2000s and gave us something we'd never forget. THEY FUCKED UP BOOMERANG NOW
I just realized how brilliant this is; have the characters interact with each other so you can see situations only fanfictions could create (most of which would be bad) and advertise your other shows in hilarious ways that don't feel like commercials. Why did they end this?
This was Cartoon Network back when it was in its prime.
Electric Lasagna so Regular Show doesn't ring a bell?
Carl Bloke Sorry, what I mean by this is that back then Cartoon Network seemed like it was original and at its best. Today, most of its shows lack creativity like Teen Titans Go, Uncle Grandpa, PowerPuff Girls Remake, etc. But that doesn't mean all of its shows are bad. dexter = the original roast master XD
Kawaii Princess I could give Dexter Mlg shades in that bumper
that's way too much nostalgia b4 bed
Ooohh man, good times. I wished I lived in this city!!
I wish the owner this didnt resigned
MapleGeek12 me too
Im so glad I got to grow up with these great cartoons...it makes me cry because i miss being a kid and watching them everyday T_T....this cartoon city idea was such a unique concept, how they made all the areas look realistic
0:54 Then its.... Bobobobobobobobobo! xD That amuses me for some reason
How many geniuses does it take to keep their sister from breaking their lab?
Oooo shots fired😂😂
This is what all we can call "Golden era"
Back when Cartoon Network was actually good.
+LordFhalkyn Steven universe, adventure time, regular show, amazing world of gumball
+GreenNinjaTea Steven Universe sucks
+Arturo Soto No it doesn't.
MaxRobertoErikson yes it does
Arturo Soto ...No it doesn't.
My god this brings happiness and so much nostalgia to my heart!! Brings a tear to my eye knowing that this will never come back.

These were always fun to watch.

Almost five years ago, wow.
If anyone has old Cartoon Network tapes on their computers, (or actual tapes) from the City Era or earlier (full tapes) contact me at killboypowerhead2@gmail.com. I have many Cartoon Network shows and tapes to trade or share.
This was the best when I was a kid
Not sure if I misunderstood, but this VIDEO was uploaded 5 years ago.. This era of Cartoon Network is about 8-10 years old probably even more
+heartsXkisses24 In latin america they had cn city from 2005 to 2010
+CloseCastigar what kind of shows?
+CloseCastigar This stuff came out around around 2004 maybe 2006 at the latest. It was only uploaded onto TH-cam in 2011.
wOW ED IS Robbing the professor of his food that he bought lol
I remember that when I was a kid... boy the nostalgia kicks in. Back then when cartoons were really cartoons.

i agree
***** Johnny Test and Teen Titans Go! are going to save Cartoon Network?
I mean the shows mentioned by wildcard

i remember this being so awesome i tried to record these on a vhs tape XD it was to good for the shitty future to keep.
put it on time capsule :P
Yeah, remember when they usually hade for 1st of January, Tom & Jerry the WHOLE FREAKING day!! Taped that shit :D
Ah, back when CN was in its golden years. My childhood years were well meant, especially since whoever is the new director of CN drove it into the ground....
This was what made the 00's special. Every character felt connected with each other.

Just imagine characters from Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe interacting with each other and all the characters from classic CN shows like these bumpers. That would be AWESOME.
Someone needs to contact CN and freaking do this!
On the other hand, what if Pokemon characters were in CN City bumpers?
Old good cartoons+Steven universe,Adventure time etc(shit cartoons)=No pls
+imthinkinwacky
That wouldn't have been cool. The best we got are just pikachu posters on walls
+ThePowergloveNinja Why not? It would be funny to see Ash mistake Jake for a Pokemon and try to catch him. Of course Finn would beat the shit out of him afterwards.
I wish I could go back in time and be a kid for one more day just to relive this era of Cartoon Network for one more day
CN City was the last loved era before they started to fall from grace, this was CN at its Peak
Personally I feel CN hit its peak around 1998 / 1999. The City Era and the current Dimensional era are getting really close to that peak IMO.
those in 2016
can you feel the nolstaga of the good old day
Yeah...I really miss this
This still makes me feel very happy with this video but it still holds my emotions and movements from cartoons that makes me dance and jam out to this
if you asked me, CN was at their apex when they started doing these crossover commercials. where did they go wrong? :[
1:15 Why is Numbuh 1 helping out Professor? KND only helps kids
bear in mind there are some adults he trusted and/or helped out in the show.
WookieOwner the kids next door never say no to a problem
Man, this brings back memories. I miss the old cartoon network.
Watching this makes my chest Hurt
🎶Back in the day when I was young I'm not a kid anymore but someday I still wish I was a kid again🎶
All these little shorts are absolutely priceless and amazing! Watching all these different characters interact with each other was truly the best and golden years of my childhood! Nothing will ever be able to top this! I really wish I could relive the last decade! (2000-2009)
Will you guys excuse me? I need to go cry in a dark corner as I reminisce the good times I had with this channel in my childhood.
Im greatly to grow up with such great cartoons!
seeing interaction between characters from different shows just feels so cool. I felt the same way when Cartoon Network was doing the 20th anniversary stuff.
we need better bumpers on CN. probably shouldn't be a priority, but it would be nice. even the Noods (remember those?) were better than what we got now.
Oh, this brings back memories!
I wished Cartoon Network would stay like this :(
I like how all the cartoons know eachother. And how sometimes they might star in eachother shows. It kinda makes it feel like one big happy family :, )
There was this one episode of dexters laboratory and dee dee had like a powerpuffs doll in the backgrown. I like how they used to do little easter eggs like that : )
Ed edd n eddy in real life cartoon
Version of them looks so real
Why dont you use some chemical X?? LOL BBBBBUUUUURRRNNNNN!! Dexter you so troll XD
This animation must've been expensive as hell ... but ... it was worth every penny.
We went from this in the 2000's, to just kids saying dumb bullshit in the 2010's
True
Like those kids singing the Waffles song... for longer than necessary.
stlouisrocker100 shit i havent heard that song since middlce school years
we could tell the people in majority who likes Teen Titan Go Teens only and older adults who likes Teen Titans to help us with getting back the original one but one hateful condition is that we have to keep Teen Titans Go for the fans that don`t get the show that`s ok i feel the same way too so either that or goodbye those great golden age cartoon network forever
Haven't cried for a while... This brought me pretty close... DAMNIT! BRING BACK THESE SHOWS! I NEED BOBOBO TO LIVE!
wait, they showed Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo in cartoon network? XD I dont remember that.
oh yeah they did naruto too
Because of Toonami
lonely bag yep
I liked his mustache
Fuck even the commercials made me happy...
never realized how clean these were til i looked it up.. damn!
7:02 Ed learned some magic.
Id love this to be a movie
I remember hating the city theme in 2004 when it replaced the original Cartoon Network, but now that 11 years have gone by, I definitely have some fondness for it!
*silently sheds a single tear*
So much nostalgia!
This was so awesome back then when all the cartoon character live altogether and talk to each other! Man I miss the OLD CN ;{
And thus Gumball was born.
+apere431 holy shit youre right
apere431 And along came other good cartoons besides Tawog...
The Sweet and Kind one.... Adventure time....
The Obnoxious but ridiculously funny......Regular Show
And now we have Bullshit cartoons
I was born in 1996 I should know.
Only 90s kids remember this nostalgic.
Bro this was the 2000s ya goof💀
@GT1 for those who born in 90s
Hahaha... Edd in the background XD
This was when i was around eight or something and still in middle school. They always have some sort of cartoon network special and toonami was the kick!!! The nostalgia :3
What the HELL was with that lunch room bully scene?
I know i was like WTF 🌽
That's what I was wondering. I could be wrong, but it looked to be encouraging bullying.
ya i bet it hit close to home with you LOL
what if they somehow made this into a show
Who Framed Roger the Rabbit the animated show cartoonnetwork version? I would watch that.
Cartoon network never really died... Our childhood, memories, and innocents died... Saddest realization of my life..
Man.. this made me sad
Back in the day when cn was still good
Man do I miss the times almost every single cartoon here used to be amazing now I barely even watch tv.
man these promos were the BEST. now they have this lame "are you CN what we're saying" crap.
right
danomyte true
As lame as it is, at least it encourages audience participation and they only do it once a week. The YES era was far worse.
Captain B. Zarre the Yes era was way better than today's promotional crap. There was still effort put into them
I believe 9:34 to 10:38 sums up the CN in a nutshell.
When I was a kid I loved that one, seeing all the shows smashed in one as sections of the city
