I would definitely stay there!! I can see a Skoolie in your future. You could design it to fit your needs perfectly. A drop down bed over the cab for Hensley and a bunk for JJ, that long table in front of the windows for eating and home school (how great school in a skoolie).
In a heartbeat! In fact, I would almost be willing to travel up there just for that skoolie! You have to see the aurora though. Don’t leave until you do!

I think a school bus would be an awesome adventure! Alaska is a life-changing experience. Northern Lights would be incredible. I enjoyed the salmon run at the Kenai river, and saw a white beluga whale swim up the river.

We are fulltime RV’ers living in Alaska. We go to Fairbanks often. The bus looks like a fantastic place to stay. Alaska Airbnb’s are a different culture than the lower 48’s are. Many dry cabins and lots of outhouses lol!! We were at the Iditarod in Willow too, wished we had bumped into you all there!!

Beautiful but no way would I stay in a school bus because I retired from driving one and was stuck broke down in my bus so many times and no I don’t care to relive that but the scenic view is breathtaking

Lol...that bus is a Thomas built bus...a long way from Thomasville, NC where it was built. My brother-in-law might have built that bus.
I love that you guys did that with your kids. I love Alaska, we went in June and hoped to see the lights too, but didn’t.
I would suggest if you really want to see the Northern Lights or the Aurora you really need to visit Longyearbyen, Svalbard.
all you would need to make the stay very cool is a moose putt putting by ( or a bear). & the northern lights coming out would be extra cool.
