Lenses with ball bearings are rather uncommon, and mostly found in high end lenses. We're talking about a 1.2 lens? Anyway, what do you need to repair exactly on a ball bearing? Cheers.
Es un muy buen lente, ya sabes que hacer si algún día se te traba. Voy a hacer un vídeo pronto mostrando como limpiarlo y ponerle grasa nueva. Un abrazo.
@@diyextravaganza Great. Even if there is no fungus, could you demonstrate how you would clean it? Here in Japan there are many of them available, but sadly fungus is very common.
Apologies this question has nothing to do with the lens in this video. But I need your advice. I have a Nikkor/Nikon 80--200 F4 lens that has some 'debris' on the second lens element. I can get the front element off just fine (after watching your great video). But the second element inside the lens is hard stuck in there I will not budge even with a lot of force using the lens opening tool. It feels like it's locktited, but I don't see any evidence of locktite. And, in your demo of the removal of the lens elements for the 80-200 F4 AI-S lens went pretty easy. What am I doing wrong? How can I free up/remove this second lens element?
Hi, you mean the element with the two little holes for the lens spanner? Are you trying with a lens spanner or rubber tool? Try with a lens spanner if you haven't, just be careful of not letting it slip. You can try putting also a little bit of acetone to dissolve any traces of glue. Keep me posted on your progress. Cheers.
for the nikon 55mm f2.8 , the stiff reason is CRC helicord, not the focus helicord.
Hi, I always wondered how much contribution to the stiffness each helicoid had. Cheers.
Agree! Most of the CRC construction, the stiffness caused by the CRC helocoid.
@@wayneyung1262I'll try to make some tests on that.
Good to know. I have a few "stuck" lenses. I wonder, do you have any lenses that you fixed the ball bearings?

Hola, te respondí antes y me desaparecio el comentario. Aquí te escribo de nuevo, abrazo y sigue disfrutando del canal.
@@diyextravaganza Gracias Amigo🍀🍀
Please make videos of any more repair work you do on this lens ;-)
Hi, it is planned. I'll clean the helicoid and put new grease. A cleaning as well maybe.

i always use a glucose syringe to put the lighter fluid in...
That's the best approach. Cheers.
