I was already doing these steps for learning how to draw things. it is pretty validating to see that this approach is a good one. you even gave me some good tips as identifying the cranium has been the more difficult part for me so your tips on how to do that really help.

I really like the video but.... YOU MADE THE CHIN TOO SHORT. :( On the plus side, I do like how you match up the general shape and colors to the reference and try to understand how they did what they did. If/when I do an art study, I will definitely put these concepts into practice!

Very true, you don't always have to get it perfect but the more you do it the more you learn each time and can fix when you do it again.
