Ooh we are sooo getting into the show ahaha! We keep trying to hold off putting them out but we get too excited, so here we are! The next one will be a little later next week as we are away for a wedding though ^^
The fleeing felon rule used to allow the use of deadly force to prevent the escape of a person suspected of committing a felony. That rule became severely limited due to a 1985 court ruling and thus you would expect that a police officer today would not shoot in this Sopranos scene.
In regards to it being based on real events, the show is based on David Chase' relationship with his own mother and his experiences with therapy. He didn't think anyone would be interested in such a show so he added the mafia angle to make it interesting.
Not me. I wish I could watch it again for the _second_ time. 🤣 The show is so dynamic, it's easy to miss things on the first watch. I truly enjoyed it more on my second watch.
I grew up in the bronx in the 80s and 90s. Kids used to always bring box cutters and razors into school and sometimes pistols. I was in 5th grade in 1990 when NYC had over 2,000 murders that year. Ive shot guns at the range before but dont own any. NYC is not the most gun heavy place in America by far though. Philly has way more guns. But going to Miami or Atlanta, Houston the gun culture is way more open there. If police didn't have guns here they'd be overrun easily.
I love watching Sopranos reactions, especially good ones like your page's, because it's different than rewatching the series. For me anyway, because from Dec. 2020 thru summer 2022, a year and half, I rewatched the Sopranos over and over back to back, everyday after work EIGHT (8) TIMES in a row! All the seasons. Kinda exhausted rewatching it normal. Can't tell you why I needed to do that but I did.😳🤦🏾♂️
Hi from the US. Really enjoying you two, loving Lorna's synopsis each and every time. Let's get really moving on these episodes sounds like a great time.
See if you can find Uncle Jun in the Godfather. Also several references in Sopranos. The two biggest Mafia cannon related cinema. One opened the genre and the other closed it.
Great reaction. Yes the series is settling in now and the best is yet to come. All cops in the US carry guns, but so do a great deal of the criminals lol.
I wish we could too but our editing time available is sometimes tight so it means there is a little less consistency and much longer between episodes... maaaybe one day though! We appreciate you 💖 Lorna
The Godfather is frequently cited as a major influence on US mafia culture. It’s said that mafia members loved the historical and cultural aspects of the movie and actually adopted much of it that had either been forgotten, or never really existed. Naturally people love to see themselves glorified in popular culture. Godfather 2 is better than Godfather 1. - but most people will tell you the original is the best gangster movie - until they see 2. (3 should be avoided like the plague) Set later than the Godfather movies but also rated as good 'mafia movie is Goodfellas - which stars Lorraine Bracco (Dr Melfi) as the main characters wife.
"I know a bad mother when I see one" 😂😂😂. I feel you. Tony's mother is like my late grandmother, may she rest in peace 😅 I remember thinking "That's my grandma!" when I first saw the Sopranos some 20+ years ago. Livia is textbook narcissist.
I saw my first gun in person at probably 8, a rifle my stepdad fired at his farm land. I saw my first illegal gun around 14, on the wrong end of it. They stole my Xbox games and my friends CDs. I wouldn't say it's common but that was my experience. That was also the 2000s, which seems to me like it was slightly more aggressive time, in person at least.
For any new sopranos fan, i always recommend "pure kino" on youtube who is an incredible expert on everything about the series. He starts with episode one to the end and gives you great play by play of whats actually happening behind all the multiple characters and plot turns.
You are moving through these episodes fast. To see this reaction already was a delightful surprise.

They still do usually shoot though
@@Johaufsthey actually dont, bc of the court ruling.
@@merkitten953 cops caring about laws and court rulings? Very funny, cops will and do murder people for much less then running
@@Johaufs Unfortunately not as much as we'd like.
@@jesses5463 you like it when cops murder people?

Oooh that is interesting!
13:50 - Michael B. Jordan before The Wire! I guess he was playing "Wallace in Wonderland" in this episode... 👏👏👏

Ahahh of course you would be one if the only people to want to watch it for the first time, the second time.
Love you! Haha ✨️

"Only in America." YUP 💯😂
Keep ‘em coming🙂😊
It'll be somewhere nice, and he's not included. Or is it Mafia related?
You were both right!
I knew y’all would enjoy this show 👍
We are obsessed already!!
Could yous do Boardwalk Empire after The Soapranos?
We are not sure what we are doing after Sopranos but will definitely consider it. Thanks ✨️
@@weebitreacts Thank you. Also another suggestion to consider, the excellent comedy Father Ted.
you said 'episode six' like 'episode sex'. I'm not sure how to think about these reviews. This is a joke, btw.
Hahaha I get this all the time.. silly accents doing silly things! 😂
Purple burglar alarm. 😏
subbed, because you kids seem like a crowd I'd get into happy trouble with. Keep on doin'.
Thanks!@@kimmomaki
Hi there
