I don't know about US prices but in Europe the Antares 8 is very good value for money. One engine not two, so a lower cost but also lower maintenance. The official configuration, both "Turnkey" and "Cruising" the A8 is 50k euros less than the A9. I configured both of these with all the best options, biggest engines, hull paint, luxury packs, better upholstery, teak, upgraded everything. With pretty much all the options the A8 maxes out at 97k, the A9 maxes out around 149k with the same optioning. Again, that 50 thousand euros more. The A9 has more options you can add to that including a Generator (18k) Led lights (0.5k) Microwave (0.3k) shore heating (0.5k) storage (0.8k) autotabs (1.3k) camera (0.9k) radar (3k) VFH (0.9k), all of those combined will be about 26k euros. So you can build a better boat but many of those options can be installed by self or aftermarket.
@@sadenuttie2234 Better performance also translates into lower economy. Not that one is better than other: some people want a Pershing 7X, other people want a displacement Trawler. Does the A9 have masses more space than the A8? It has a little. Depending how many people you use the boat with, that may or may not be a "useable" difference. Does the A9 have enough better "seakeeping" than the A8? What conditions can the A9 take the A8 cannot? The point is different people's different needs will determine if the £50k extra for the A9 is a worthwhile investment or if it's just money spent without a useful or detectable return.
@@darthkek1953 yes. True. It does have better seakeeping abilities though. It has a ce category of B, has a higher clearance, and can deal with bigger waves and wind. Main advantages would be that, as well as more room. As you said though, it’s not fair to compare different size and cost boats with each other. So why did you do that in your original comment?
I recently ordered a Beneteau Antares 11. I took a sea trial on the GT36 for comparison of size but the Antares 11 has different features. I would love of the Capt. and Boattest would review the Beneteau Antares 11. Thanks!

Antares 9 is a bigger difference than t he 8 trust I have been on both although more expensive the size and space is much better

There is a bit of a conflicting info....Beneteau says it’s 26.2 feet, you report 29.6 feet long or 9 meters....who is correct?
29.6 is overall length
