    Things have changed in 38 years. My family lived there on the base in 1986! Glad to see things are improving on the island. Yep, everything is tile to make typhoon messes easier to clean up.

      Yup, we were definitely grateful for the tile when we had the CAT 5 super typhoon hit. We had some water intrusion, the tile made for an easy clean up.

    I just found you-I lived on Guam in DOD housing near Andersen AFB from 1976-1978 so I am going to enjoy watching your adventures and seeing the island again! We used to shop at Big Navy which was at the other end of the island from where we lived. We loved Guam!

    Nice, looks very livable for a couple of years and I would have loved a shore duty assignment there. I transited through Guam several times on a ship and enjoyed my time there. Be sure and get some reef walkers for going in the ocean, the coral will destroy your feet.

      We just hit a year living here and have loved it so far! We definitely make sure to wear our dive boots or water shoes when need be to protect our feet! Thanks for the recommendation!

      @@caitlinherber LOL, I guess my warning about the coral was about a year late but I'm sure you were aware of it. It was just the first thing I thought of when a saw "Guam".

    This looks exactly like the house we lived in on Dolphin drive near the movie theater ten years ago. I was so sure it was it, but the park looked slightly different (although it’s been Ten years in October so it could have changed) and I think we were one or two houses further away from the park in the back yard. Maybe in that area most of the houses look the same inside. Anyway very cool for nostalgia reasons 😀

    Are you allowed to film on the streets? I would really like to see my old house. I’m just curious to see if it looks the same. I lived at 30 Gilmore and 3 Hutchins. This was when my dad was in the navy. I haven’t seen our house ever since we left in 1998.

    • @caitlinherber
      @caitlinherber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup we're allowed to film. Maybe we'll have to take a stroll down that neighborhood on one of our next walks!

      @@caitlinherber wow. If you could do that, it would be greatly appreciated. None of our family even knows what our houses look like since we left in 1998. Please let me know if you ever go down there and take a video :)

      @@caitlinherbery’all still live at Lockwood terrace? I’ve tried to do google street view to see the old houses I’ve lived in, but it doesn’t seem those vehicles are allowed on base 🤷‍♂️
