I see all these people writing about Guam. I was there in 1968 69. In the Navy. While I was there I had a 1958 black t bird. It was passed to me and when I left the island I passed it to another sailor. Can someone please look around to see if it may still be on Guam. Probably parked around Proteus point, Apra harbor. I would appreciate any information.
    Thank you Dennis Hannan

I don’t mean to sound cynical or overly critical, but visiting Guam feels like experiencing the same activities you’d find anywhere else: observing marine life in a fish tank, exploringa museum, hiking through jungles, and seeing a pineapple christmas tree, not to mention putting a lock on a fence for love. The tourist spots and shops are quite similar to those in other popular destinations. If you’re looking for a unique experience, you might find more variety in places like the Philippines, Thailand, or even Hawaii. If in Guam to what the Romans do. But I think it's not a vacation destination for most.

I'm looking forward to the "fun".
I spent 7 1/2 years on Guam and LOVED it. 5 1/2 in the Navy (1995-2001) and 2 as a civilian contractor 2006-2008) doing the same job except foe 3X the pay.
Some practical things newbies need to know are:
    1. If you're Military for the basic things there's nothing better than the Exchanges/Commissaries
    2. If your car breaks down put a "for sale" sign on it before you go for help otherwise it will bet stolen or stripped for parts.
    3. For military people entire families are required to attend rules of the sea orientation because of the undertow around the island. That said, Everyone should do that. It could be life or death. The Philippines is a very long way.
    4. Fun stuff: Go to the village fiestas. Each village has one every year. You won't regret it.

Tarzan falls looked a lot like Telafofo falls, is that correct. (not sure of the spelling)

Guam is great to visit. But too expensive for living. Especially when it comes to food.

@@MrOcto13 When I was there prices were cheaper than Hawaii. Especially gas, because their contract was with Singapore.
After I left Guam I went to Hawaii, and McDonalds cost way more.
