This recording of windy mountain sounds from the Isle of Skye was made during a day of hiking around an area known as the Quiraing. The weather during this day changed from one minute to the next which comes across in the recording. Some moments it is sunny, others overcast, at one point it started raining just as I was setting up precariously on a steep slope which became incredibly slippery on the decent. Erecting an umbrella to protect the recording kit on a mountain in strong winds was also an interesting moment. Sheep scatter this dramatic landscape so I included them in a few shots. The wind was incredibly strong and gusty on this day so the recording may not be the most relaxing for those who don't enjoy wind sounds. But it does give an accurate soundscape of the atmosphere on the Quiraing during days like this with such changeable weather. Enjoy :)

Its always more challenging recording wind, especially strong, gusty wind like on this day. I appreciate that gusty wind sounds are not to everyones likings but this mountainous area of Skye was too stunning a place to ignore, and these are all the sounds from the area on this particular day. Crows seemed to be roosting in the huge cliffs of this spot and you can hear them occasionally passing by from around 39:22 onwards. Also, apologies for all the camera shake in a few of the shots. The wind was so strong at times it is amazing the camera managed to not get blown off the mountain!
