My rough opening is so narrow (interior) I can’t find any advice! I’m gonna have to use two pieces of lattice wood and Brad nail them directly to the opening to make a jamb! I know this is wrong but what else can I do?
They ask you if its a 4" or a 6" jam mobile home door? And what about hinge side if you order the storm door with the mobile home door and frame? Would it then be right hinged door with left handed storm door hinge? Plus when it ships and arrives, you must inspect it on the spot and keep or reject it if it's damaged during shipping or you're on the hook for return shipping?
If you want to install the door correctly, you would want to purchase the correct size of the door you need. If you decided to make the door "House" size, you may need to cut the space larger, which you can run into issues, due to where the manufacture placed the electrical. Some homes, they ran the electrical wire above the doors.
They made two different styles for the screen doors. A brick molded and a push on frame screen door. Most mobile homes have the push on frame type. You would first need to determine which kind you have. Push on frame type screen doors can be purchased from Mobile Home Parts-4-U in Colorado. However, they do not offer shipping at this time for large items.
Google mobile home door with frame and storm door. A few online companies will come up. They have a pdf how to measure. I called the company and talked to someone who could help me measure, measure if it's a 4" or 6" wide jam, plus help me figure out right hinge on door and left hand on storm door. Someone warned me to be there when it's delivered and open it up and inspect it fof any damage so you can reject it and send it back if so. They said once you sign and accept it, the shipping would be on us if there's something wrong... good luck to you and us...
Ours shifted and became unleveled, not only was the frame off kilter, later it was so unlevel all the pipes and sewer pipes got knocked off from underneath the entire home...terrible...then the door leaked and ruined the floor, insulation, underbelly vapor barrier then the skirting shifted which caused cold air to freeze the pipes.
This is still a bad guesstimate. We sell people mobile home doors. We ask them, "How did you mismessure" because they almost always do. You try your best to measure the opening if the door was to be removed. This video is very little to no help. You are almost better off mismeasuring by measuring the door itself and buying a complete setup based on that, as the openings tend to be standardized and measuring and going off the door is most likely to get you the best fitting hung door. Unless you remove the door and measure the opening, you are just guessing. Many many times, you buy the wrong door but don't know the right size until you pull the old door frame off. Take it with you in your pickup to the store to buy the door so you can remeaure there. Many times you will have to order the correct door size, and you have to take the old door back home and reinstall while you await your order to arrive.
As to your reply about telling everyone that walks through your door ‘how did you mismeasure’; So glad I don’t have to rely on some jerk telling me when I walk in how wrong i am instead of trying to make a video to show me how to help measure. Real negative attitude on your part and glad I don’t have to get my parts from you. Try the positive attitude instead of trying to ruin everyone’s day.

Do you have to get a door specifically made for a modular home or would any door, sized correctly, fit?

My screen door sags couldn’t I just take the pin out the hinges and replace or is it sagging because it’s not level ?
