Mark, thank you so much for being the FIRST person to buy me a coffee ! I am extremely grateful for the feedback. If you have any topic in mind for another video, let me know, it will be my pleasure to try and accomodate a request. Cheers
Timely topic in the fall indeed, this is why I decided to film this, to share my results (and failures) while shooting a series of those images. Rain is good, lots of mushrooms will pop up soon and you will have a chance to experiment at lib !
Magic mushrooms haha😀😀 once again a very enjoyable & super informative tutorial! Loved your set-up & the images speak for themselves! Awesome execution! Subbed & looking forward to seeing more from you mate! Cheers
No I and I did not want to include that part since 1) I am not too good at Photoshop and 2) There are a lot of very good YT tutorials on that. Search YT for "magic lantern mushrooms" for example. Processing is not difficult, so I preferred to illustrate the technique to get good shots
No I don't. It was a prototype and actually not good enough to make a video about it. I am thinking of ways to improve it, especially the feet It is based on a carpentry connector plate and nuts/bolts Same as a Platypod but costing 50 times less
It ...depends ! I can't remember for those images but generally I underexpose my images at least -0.3 ev and often do -0.7 or -1.0 ev. I check that highlights are not blown and adjust accordingly. In post, highlights are too hard to recover while shadows conserve details, so better underexpose
Excellent walk through with a number of well explained logical steps. Thanks for putting this together.

Again a super explanation...😊

Life saving ! (Literally speaking 😉 )
Beautiful pictures 👍😍
Thank you !
I have been thinking of this very topic recently so thank you for excellent video. If only it would stop raining ☔️

Hi Peter and thks for the kind words. I also very much enjoy your videos and subscribed ! Looking forward for more too from your side 😀 cheers
When I saw your video title I thought you were going to be talking about Ghost mushrooms 😂
Nope, artificail light only. We don't have those where I live unfortunately
Do you have a YT video on how you process your glowing mushrooms in PS or LR???
No I and I did not want to include that part since 1) I am not too good at Photoshop and 2) There are a lot of very good YT tutorials on that. Search YT for "magic lantern mushrooms" for example. Processing is not difficult, so I preferred to illustrate the technique to get good shots
Do you have a how to video for the plate stand you made
No I don't. It was a prototype and actually not good enough to make a video about it. I am thinking of ways to improve it, especially the feet
It is based on a carpentry connector plate and nuts/bolts
Same as a Platypod but costing 50 times less
When you underexpose how much do you drop the exposure?
It ...depends ! I can't remember for those images but generally I underexpose my images at least -0.3 ev and often do -0.7 or -1.0 ev. I check that highlights are not blown and adjust accordingly. In post, highlights are too hard to recover while shadows conserve details, so better underexpose
What is that device on top of your camera?
It's a small field monitor (for video). I use the Portkeys PT6 but any 5" or 5.5" from Neewer, or other brands is OK. Helps a lot with focus
Do you shoot at RAW?!
yes always ! More latitude in post-treatment, for the best final result
Great video sir. Wishing you hunt and photograph the hummingbird hawk moth. 🥳 . Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾👋🥳
Thank you ! Greetings from France too !
top... il fait froid chez toi ?
Pas sur la cote mais dans la foret a 1000 m il faisait un peu frais le matin
