I had to read that a couple of times. I would have put an "and" instead of a "but".
In Russia happiness will get you bludgeoned with a heavy prosthetic limb. There is not enough of these ''smiles'' to go around for everybody.

It's not that having money can't make you feel good and accomplished(especially if you have struggled with not having a lot in the past)
... the point is that having fame and millions of dollars doesn't automatically make people happy.
You’re still a regular person tho, you have a normal job etc. This is more about having all of societies stereotypical dreams being fulfilled and realizing that that is not bringing true happiness. Out of curiosity Are you happy with your job? If so then you’re lucky because you’re doing better than the people on these videos. If you’re not happy well then you know you don’t have to chase fame and riches because you won’t find it there either.

I never was rich, I never was successful at anything. 2014 was my year of awakening, right now I have no friends, I'm getting divorced, I cut any contact with my Narcissistic family. I live on rent, I lost my job due to the corona bull..it, but you know what? I'm happy for knowing who I'm. I'm happy for saying NO to liars, dramas, I'm happy to truly know who I'm. But it's still better to be unhappy in Maldives than in a slum. Money provides opportunities, not happiness. They are intercharging fame with money. Many famous people are broke and many rich people are unknown. Yes you can be happy about the opportunities. If that is not the case then what else?
Very well said!! Plenty of rich people who are content and happy. It's all about the mentality and priorities. These people are chasing things they shouldn't. How many of them are willing to sacrifice their "fame"? Not that many.
my brother is rich as fuck, he is only thirty five but has ton of money. and i mean it. he has a beautiful wife, a healthy child, a whole mansion filled with super expensive furniture and a brand new tesla. he's the most content man you can ever see. fame is not the same as being rich. being unknown and rich is the person i aspire to be.
Untrue. I spent 10 days in the maldives on my own last december. As beautiful as it was i wasnt 100% happy. The year before i visited india i stayed in a tent in the mountains with a lovely group of people it was freezing cold and all we had was a bike to get us around for the week. With not alot else to do I was actually happier in India. Because I was in a better headspace mentally. Not because i was spending or had more money. Or that i was in a rich environment. Spending time with a family in india being welcomed to their family to cook a meal brought more happiness than being on a beach in one of the most beautiful places in the world alone.
Here is the harsh and liberating truth to a fullfilled life:
Money does NOT directly bring happiness.
Money brings OPPORTUNITIES that can bring happiness and gratitude.
Your happiness depends on the skill of turning opportunities into happiness and fullfillment.
You dont need money to create opportunities. But you need the inner skill to internally digest external and internal information to happiness
It all depends on your ability to in each second create your desired feeling. Each and everyday you have to rise up again and put in effort until it becomes ease and habit.
@@xxX-fj7uo Rich - and ghosting. There is a lack of privacy being a celebrity, harder to ghost. Some try fake wigs and big glasses to get through the airport but the paps are waiting and watching and follow after them in vehicles. Being rich and maintaining privacy is a lower-stress lifestyle.
Enough money to make life easier is great. Beyond that, wealth does not guarantee happiness. This is my personal experience. I don’t want to go back to searching couch cushions for change for a box of pasta. But money makes me happiest when I spend it on others. I took my niece to Monaco for high school graduation - I was thrilled to give her that experience. I can sleep without worrying about paying my mortgage that brings security. Beyond that, nope. Didn’t make me smile anymore than when I was struggling.

People who can pay their bills, have health insurance, and small savings are shown to be just as happy as rich people. Happiness and pleasure are two different things.
Yep pleasure comes in small bits but happiness i don’t care if I lived broke and hungry as long as I was happy I’ll take it all day but happiness is tough to find so we find pleasure in money sex and drugs which make it worse

The reason they are not happy is not the money they have, but it is the things they lack that money can't buy. Like salvation and true love.

Being able to pay your bills, and have food on the table and travel the world is something we all want to achieve. Fame is a whole other story, not everyone wants to be famous, but everyone wants to not worry about money.
I agree with you, I'd rather have money to be able to buy whatever I want and travel to wherever places I want, instead of being stopped in my tracks for a picture or autograph by crowds of fans when they see me in public.
People always misunderstand. They aren't saying money won't fix your financial problems, of course it will; they're saying that money won't fix your spiritual problems. There are things that money can't buy, like purpose, peace, genuine love, self-respect, self-esteem etc.

It's so easy to say money does not make me happy when you have tons. Money gives you confort! A place to stay and sleep tight and freedom! Half ol the world is fighting for all that. If they are sad that have all the therapies to feel better, and the tool to do what they need. Others are fighting for food. This is indecent.

I think (and I don't believe I'm actually writing this) that the most accurate definition came from Dan Bilzerian: "Money can't buy happiness but it can buy pleasure". That was deep.
Loving yourself means to know yourself, to believe in yourself, accepting yourself and knowing what you are fighting for... and a lot of people succeeding don’t have that in mind which makes them not capable of being truly happy. Happiness is not a temporary feeling nor is it something you can buy. True happiness is finding that inner peace within yourself no matter where you are. And that is what you should be striving for; Loving yourself.
I think the key to staying happy in life is just staying busy imo. Working really hard through the week, exploiting your hobbies and passions with effort so there is still a weekend to look forward to regardless of how wealthy you are. That and being surrounded by friends and family.

I needed to hear that. God's word says that he is the one that gives us the ability to create wealth. A good man shall provide for his children's children is also in God's word. I've worked very hard never giving up on my dreams and I'm at the point where I'm expecting several huge windfalls to start coming in as I complete several business deals....my prayer is that watching this series of videos and staying in God's word will hopefully keep me grounded.

What I feel like many people in the comments are not understanding is that these celebs are talking about EXCESS MONEY not being the key to making you happy.
So many people like “being able to pay my bills and not be evicted will make me happy” like yes OF COURSE. Of course it’s assumed you need to be able to take care of your BASIC needs in order to not be stressed. What these celebs are saying is that having millions isn’t what happiness is, that happiness comes from life fulfilment. For example if you’re a financial middle class dweller who isn’t happy who thinks that being extremely wealthy is going to make you happy, that you’re wrong. Instead invest into your life - find yourself a healthy relationship, a job you love, make some more friends, get involved in your community, all these things add to life fulfilment which is where true happiness comes from (and to reiterate again - YES ASSUMING you can pay basic bills)

I read a study once which said that middle class university educated westerners felt the 'happiest' times of their lives was... while they were juggling study and part time work at university. Meanwhile, people living on the street in India (with no shelter, security, not enough food, etc) were *not* happy. But very interesting, people living in slums (with basic shelter and security), where roughly as happy as... western university students....

Studies show that happiness increases with annual salary to a point (I think around 90k per year) but does not continue from there on.. I think that we humans like to feel that we are useful and can support ourselves and loved ones to live a comfortable life with some small luxuries but beyond that it just becomes a greedy game that never ends and never fulfils
Having been on both sides of the poverty/well-to-do divide, I can definitely say that I'm much happier when I have money than when I don't have money.
That's not the point. Nobody is saying poverty brings happiness. It doesn't. We should all strive to be able to provide for ourselves and those we love, but let's not let our pursuit of money cloud our minds from what really matters.

If you are not happy, you are not happy. I thought money would do it for me. I bought stuff, saw the world blah blah blah and I was will miserable until I went inward. happiness is the sum of deliberate self awareness and fulfillment. Until I learned that, I was stuck. I know poor people who are more happy than my rich friends. Sometimes I think I was actually happier poor.

The problem with this world at that were not taught to love ourselves first before we achieve our goals and dreams if you don't love yourself don't become a star or Rich until you love yourself first. It’s not so much about wether or not you feel Happy, because being happy is an instant feeling. It’s more so about feeling fulfilled.
IMO, the meaning of life is did you reach your potential? Did you avoid life’s pitfalls? Do you like getting up in the morning? Do you enjoy your days? Do you have inner peace?
Money is just a tool. A very important tool that allows you to reach your potential. Money is like a form of water or oxygen. Without it, you will only live so much, or so long. You only run so far

I think it’s normal to want to strive and become successful and have security financially but it’s crucial to be AWARE sand conscious that money should not be the only factor and become the ONLY source of your happiness. Money comes and goes but being at peace and happy with YOURSELF is the real reward.

From the youngest age my brain was programmed into wishing I was famous. I grew up abused and bullied at school and at home. I hate everything about my life and it became a form of escapism for me to look up to celebs, watching tv shows and wishing I was friends with the cast etc... When they say happiness is having a family or someone to talk to I break down. I don't have that to begin with. If even fame and money wouldn't make me happy then why am I alive.

I went to the mall yesterday, and I left feeling so depressed. I wanted a nice looking suit for my job, Lancome products to reduce wrinkles, and a leather Jacket Hugo Boss. I don't have that much money. So I think about all these people that can buy everything at the mall and not worry about the next credit card statement. At the end of the day, no one is happy

These people don't realise that they need Jesus. That actor said happiness comes from external things, but the joy and peace you get in Jesus, is irrespective of what's going on externally. There are people who are always in peace and always joyful. That's what comes with having Jesus as Lord of your life

Having loved ones in your life is the most important thing that brings true happiness. Family friends wife husband kids, all that will truly forfill your life and if money comes after that then awesome but only having money and using it for selfish reasons will still leave you feeling empty and lost when you sleep at night

And in the video some of them say even though they're well off and don't have to worry about finances they're still not happy even though they THOUGHT they would be, so like I said you missed the WHOLE point of the video.

Look who's talking about being rude! mental issues which i am dealling with, like so many, in very basic level needs a psycologist or doing activities to make you feel better, all of course need money. And we know that many many peaple cant even have enough money for food. Ofcourse rich peaple passed all this levels and still not happy. So for the conclusion they say money cant bring happiness?! Jizz If it didnt bring you why the hell you think it cant bring someone els? Its so complicated then that, to say this superficial statement. If they spend money and they are not happy they should find another way based on what is their mental problme is and for a goodwill make a video about how they handle it and its great. In this video's they minnor the power of money based on what their own experience,relate it to all the peaple, and mix this goddamn complicated subjects such as mental health, money, happiness and make this wrong in many aspect statement. Which hurts peaple who are in pain.
