Great films. Can you put some people of color in your films though. Sheeesh! You’ll be hard pressed to find any people of color in his or Martin Scorsese films smh
I grew up in the '70s, but from what I have read about that era, Stand By Me seems to have absolutely nailed small town life for boys in the late '50s. Great, great film.
I love how Rob doesn't throw those other great directors under the bus and agree with Howard saying they "failed" to get The Princess Bride made. "They couldn't get anybody interested.." Classy.
I used to work in LA and back in1994 I worked at accounting at the Culver lot for 1 day. After work, I walked onto the set of American President and got to watch them film the shooting pool scene with Martin Sheen (A very nice person who actually held the door for me) I had a great conversation with the sound guy. He used reel to reel to record the film and I asked why he wasn't using DAT.
I didn't realize that Rob Reiner made all those movies. I believe it's his social and cultural perception of life that makes his movies relatable to his audience's.
He had Jack Nicholson (A Few Good Men) do the scene on the witness stand OVER 30 TIMES. In contrast, Clint Eastwood is famous for having actors do a scene just once or twice if he sees that they nailed it .
HEY! - PLEASE can you tell me how I can listen to these shows as a podcast? I'm in the UK and would like to listen to these interviews in full on my phone when travelling. I've looked on the podcast apps and it isn't there and don't know what app I need.
I thought Howard was a professional!?!? The number of times he steps over Rob's response is almost frustrating! Howard asks a question, then before Rob's even halfway through an explanation, Howard interrupts and asks another question!
What a run of movies, seriously. Some directors would kill to have 2 or 3 of those classics in their entire back catalogue, let alone their first 7!
I could listen to Rob talk about his films for days. A few good men has always been in my top five favorite films of all time. Great interview
same

AMEN
Loved him as 'meathead"
Loved him even more after
Rob Reiner is awesome. Great interview.
Stand by me is my number one. Still watch it now with my son. Just a perfect film.
It's a Stephen King story.
@@TheRumblewagon"The Body." King went on an adventure with his friends when he was a kid to find a dead body.
My gawd I love inside-baseball on movie making.
I could have listened to this exchange for hours.

Howard loves to play Agent Provocateur 😁
A great five minutes of conversation
I saw all of the movies he mentioned AND I can remember them because they were so memorable.
The most underrated director in history
I loved Rob on All In The Family. He's really done well. Very cool.
Stand by Me and A Few Good Men are both remote droppers for me.
When harry met sally, is honestly one of my favourite movies. It’s also in my Christmas movies list

What a legend! I didn't realize these were all his movies! Wow! 🙏🏼💕

So grateful they didn’t make a crap sequel to Princess Bride! Leave perfection alone!
If it had been a big hit when it came out (which it wasn't), they probably would have.
The best run of films by a director ever IMO. The Sure Thing is a really underrated Teen movie.
The Sure Thing is his forgotten success, and it is, indeed very underrated.
Reiner is one of those people, when you see him in an interview, you automatically stop and watch it.
I agree, bill. As a movie lover, it's easy to listen to someone who's so enthusiastic talking about them.
He had Jack Nicholson (A Few Good Men) do the scene on the witness stand OVER 30 TIMES. In contrast, Clint Eastwood is famous for having actors do a scene just once or twice if he sees that they nailed it .
I'm sure Nicholson was fine with it since he worked for Kubrick.
He had Nicholson feeding lines on reverse takes and coverage - Nicholson wanted to do it.
I actually enjoyed watching this amazing video from start to finish 😄.
Rob Reiner is an American treasure
Love him love his movies❤🎉
A FEW GOOD MEN, MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME.
Spinal tap was epic. You're an absolute legend
The sure thing is so underrated
yes
Gotta love mad max
Couldn't have ever made princess bride without Andre.
Love him in The Wolf of Wall Street
Hey Now!
Loved him in “All in the Family.” He was Meathead.
Kevin pollack, Christopher guest Noah wyle and rob Reiner. I just love hearing their few good men stories!
William Hurt would have been amazing in Misery. Lithgow too.
He could talk about his role as Moondog in Gomer Pyle.

SiriusXM is the only way I know of.
Rob Reiner!

He is a princess

Where can I watch it complete?
Flipped is underrated, one of his best in his later career.
No bush?
I would love to hear more about his Hollywood activism.
One of the great directors, it's a shame North ruined his career.
Wish he made more Stephen King movies.
☮️💜
Stand By Me is also a Stephen King story.
I wish his newer movies were good
His films go up to 11
Lol.
Amazing, this man's a genius
Can't believe that's Saul Bloom's son
Just need Seinfeld in this episode!
Jeez I’m early
Ah Howard. I remember when your show was actually good.
Hes a good director, just dont go on his twitter.
Hoofa.......it's "Meathead"
His best appearance was in South Park

Stand By Me is also a Stephen King story.
