Without any doubt, if airplanes could talk, this one would say "Thank You!" She deserved to be rescued and cherished, just as you have done! Thank you so much for sharing!
You took something that had been seriously neglected, brought it home, and with much hard work and dedication, you transformed her into a something beautiful. Very nice work, you gave her a new lease on life, and I hope she brings you years of happiness.
You deserve every fun moment in this fine bird. I'm totally impressed and so glad she is owned by someone like you who appreciates every inch of her. Best of luck and enjoy all she has to give you in the joy of flying.
Back in the 1970's I was one of 200 wheelchair pilots in the country. I owned a 1946 Ercoupe N87101. Unless you had the luggage compartment made bigger the your Ercoupe it would be a 415 D not C. The C had hardly any room. You might have been able to put one suitcase in the luggage compartment on the C but the D model had a larger compartment like your Ercoupe.. I can no longer fly but every time a plane goes over I look up and remember those great days of flying. Good luck and beautiful job
Great job on the restoration. I did much the same thing with a 1940 Monocoupe 90 which had been setting in a barn for 15 years. A lot bigger job than I had expected (and I'm an A&P)
You did a great job saving her, John! She's a beautiful example of a fantastic airplane design and she's all original, which is rare. She flies very gracefully too!
I'm just an enthusiast but I love Ercoupes. I happen to know where an Ercoupe is that needs saving. I believe it is still there. By "there" I'm talking about Jamesport Missouri.
It is so nice and so rewarding to see such a elegant aircraft brought back to life! I wish you many years of enjoyment and great success with your Ercoupe.
A fellow I knew in the 1990's rescued a bi-plane from WW1 era and restored it to original, took him many years. He watched as a pilot friend flew it around for a few minute and landed. Yes, he watched, he had never flown and said he would never fly. I don't know what he did with the old bird, but it was a beauty. Last I heard the gentlemen past away about 2010.
Love the video, the music is fine, very soothing. Wish it would've shown her take off though. Looking at purchasing my first ercoupe soon hopefully. Beautiful plane!
Nice Job! We went through the same process on N93420 s/n 743 a 415C that we have upgraded to Light Sport. I made a slide show of its restoration. You inspire me to think I can upload it too. You put fa ric on your wings. Ours had been metalized years ago. I'm curious what you ended up weighing when you were done.

Two years and not a moment of it wasted! Lovely to see this gorgeous little aircraft back in the air where it belongs, once again.

Congrats! I owned and flew N99391 for two years many moons ago. Did alot of refurb and re rig on her as well. These are great birds and lots of fun.
Thanks for sharing. Really nice job and one more old bird saved.

Gorgeous restoration!
Bravo to you, sir. Enjoy!
@ 3:45 I remember the primer being more towards the center of the panel. I grew up in N2078H the last 415C built in '46. Bittersweet memories.
just starting my resto job on my 46 coupe loving it quality time with grandpa
Kudos - a stunning restoration and a beautiful airplane.

Chortle!
A great video ! Thanks for sharing...
Cool but once you got to the point of starting her up,the music should have ended there.
I appreciate this awesome video!
Wonderful seeing her back flying. Good job.
Chaplain Billy
well done sir...
about the nicest looking coupe i have seen.
Congratulations!
Very nice this plane!!!
She's beautiful...
Awesome...one word.
Well done, Sir. The love in your work shows. Does she have a name yet?
Great job bringing her back to life.
Can the Ercoupe or Aircoupe handle the installation of a Rotax 912?
What does it cost to get an airplane in that condition
Nice job!
Good On You! Great Save!
Restoring a non-flying version now for the Glenn L Martin Md Air Museum in Middle River MD.
Well done
How did you know how to restore the airplane? Great video. Thanks.
I would have liked to see the airplane fly, at least the first take off
nice job
Awesome restoration, John. Thanks for resurrecting this neglected classic. Did you give any thought to doing the rudder pedal mod?
No, please don’t
Hey John, can I ask what you made the luggage compartment from?
Total cost ? Breakdown ?
Just simply perfection
Wish I had keep tract of 99332 my old Coupe. R. R
Spectacular. You want to share the cost with us?
Way to go!!!
How many pennies for entire project?
Love the video and your labor of love but had to mute the annoying music. Love the Ercoupes.
Very nice!
Neat. Impending doom music almost made head explode.

What no more videos. Your not flying anymore.
Music is not bad, but definitely too loud in the mix. Shoulda killed it at pre-flight checkout and engine start.
Did you find this coupe in Maine?
No, Wharton Maryland
Ditch the music
the cab is a pain to take off though lol
so, we know nothing of the problem?
X pensive
Would have been nice to hear the engine and not the ***** music!
Damn irritating music!
Horrible music
