Quite a bit of great banter from you. Remind me of my first flight instructor. Always asking the questions that matter - where are you going next, who do you have to talk to next, what airspace is along the way.
blancolirio Hey there! A big shout out to Juan and James!!! Love that Ercoupe. My uncle had one in the 60’s no rudder pedals. I think he told me it was either difficult or next to impossible to spin. I recall the ailerons and rudder pedal were interconnected. I guess that would keep the ball in the center. Hey Juan, I’m the former AA’er with the Congestive Heart Failure. Is there any way to reach you to talk about medical and AME’s. I’m not sure how to get a hold of you. You can text me at 949.290.1065. See ya, Todd Alan
So much for the “Sterile Cockpit.” Hahahaha. Oh wait, that’s an Ercoupe! Not a 777. Okay 👌 Hey James snd Juan, great to see McClellan again. Reminded me of Mather Alert days, with BUFF’s Cocked and Locked. Ohhhh, Alert Shacks/Sheds. Ugh! Todd Alan
That gleaming Ercoupe is a thing of beauty and has become one of my favorite airplanes. To me, it's up there with the DC 3 and the deHavilland Mosquito, as far as aesthetics. The Ercoupe seems to be the embodiment of the style of its era.
It’s nice flying with Juan’s expertise because it’s a check ride even if you didn’t want one. You dare not mess up your landings and you greased the Mc Clellan Air Force Base landing, home, almost but good enough. Great job!! I think Juan really enjoyed the trip also and getting to operate the radios again and fly. It’s challenging when you fly with such a highly proficient pilot with so many type aircraft. Great pilots always want to discuss aircraft systems. Thank Juan for radios and charts, but you did a great job James as PIC with Juan critiquing your ever move. But it makes you a better pilot and we may never be perfect but we can always get better. Great video loved it!!!
Brought back old memories...my neighbor had an Aerocoupe and he took me up back in 67 when I was 12. First flight in an airplane and I loved every minute of it
You two sound like an old married couple. Fun flying with Juan on board? It looked like you both were enjoying yourselves. I know I always enjoy flying with you, James
Hi James, I first fell in love with the Ercoupe in 1971 at the age of 14. I rode my bike to Long Beach airport in SoCal and would climb inside one at a local aircraft broker. I would pretend to fly it. I received my pilots license at 19 but never got the chance to fly in one. The dream is still alive and I still can feel the yoke in my hands and the leather seats against my "bum". Thanks for your videos and great perspective. Cheers.
James, not ever having watched one of your videos before, I have to admit that seeing the thumbnail with Juan's name was what first attracted me. That said, what a little beauty the Ercoupe is in the all-metal finish! Your being British came as a surprise and I must watch a few more of your vids to suss out your back story. You two make good 'air amigos' and you should do another collab with Juan sometime. Cheers!
Thanks, John, welcome aboard! My channel is quite different to Juan's (much less information), but riding along in the Ercoupe and watching this beautiful country slide along below seems to be entertaining for some people as well!
@@JamesGood : I visited friends in Santa Rosa a few years back and got to see some of the country. I never got to see Mt. Shasta, aside from when Erik Estrada from the TV show CHiPs was advertising blocks of land for sale up there. It sounded pretty good! The Ercoupe is entirely new to me and it was interesting to read the Wiki entry and understand the exchange between you and Juan as you taxied out at NCA, driving her like a car. Great video work!
Juan at 18:47 upon landing, "we made it, whew" too funny! Too bad he didn't make a show of kissing the ground after landing! I'm a Juan/Blancolirio subscriber, so I had to watch this. Great video, and chat between you too. Beautiful airplane!
Bart Goins This is what CRM sounds like. You’ll be very grateful for this sort of communication between pilots when you’re on your next commercial flight.

Ahh my two favorite pilots to watch on TH-cam. Jaun is such a pro.. and always trying to make others better, and to fly safer. Why in hell would they call a ercoupe a scarecoupe. That is one sweet flying plane.
I’ve seen a few videos now, enough to really love that particular machine. Prettiest 73 old I ever saw. My dad took me up in an Ercoupe in the mid 60’s. Was good to Juan up there too, audio and video is great in all your videos James. Be safe.

That was fun to watch. I’m a new follower from Juan’s channel. I went ahead and downloaded this plane for Xplane and flew around the bay this morning. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks, Kevin. I have that X-Plane Ercoupe as well, I made a 94805 skin for it. I also did an accurate KGOO! Unfortunately the flight dynamics are not very good on that Ercoupe model, I thought.

Absolutely beautiful Ercoupe, also known as a Scarecoupe back in the day.
Duckybob or airscoop.
Those things need an O-235 with 125 hp. The wing is too small too. Climbs too shallow, glides like a rock.
Also known as the Poor Man's P-38.

Drinking coffee on a date means you have to poop on that date. Is it the same on a light aircraft flight with no "Bathroom"?
