Man, I remember how cool it was when I learned that the charge attack had immunity frames for most attacks and also had priority against enemys (like if they're about to hit you while you're gonna hit them at the same time, you can use the charge attack. Sure, it's the same for most attacks but it's also for shields and the red hair helmet guy who can dash)

@kakakkajsjsjjseah it looks cool, the only parts I don’t like are the characters being more complicated with more pixels cause I wanted the game to look like the original videos like the first Dan the man game, and I also don’t like that some of the animations look weird but I can get used to that stuff if the games fun

Dan the Man was my big introduction to action platformers like Castlevania and Dead Cells. Bravo Halfbrick, an underrated one but still a gem nonetheless.

Im happy that Dan the Man is getting more attention, because there’s gonna be a Dan the Man 2 and a Dan the Man Series Season 3! For those of you who dont know, Dan the Man has been created from a web series by Studiojoho, later changed by Halfbrick, who are the creators of Dan the Man and a lot of other games. The series is still running and Im excited for the upcoming DTM content!

The series wasn’t created by halfbrick, it was made by studio joho and changed by halfbrick
the story is technically about how this ressistance group claimed they were going to free some enslaved people. but didn`t really focus on that goal, and instead, only caring about taking out the king and his henchmen who were abusive. and your partner (josie/dan depending on who you pick) is one of the enslaved people. its technically a webseries. and there is another episode taking place after this game.
Seeing Eazy speedrunning Dan The Man, makes me respect him more as the man he is

For those wondering about the story,
Basically the king kidnaps a bunch of villagers, including Josie (Dan the man's girlfriend), to run on a treadmill and power the entire city which starts a revolution. Dan helps them for most of the game until the very end where the revolution becomes too violent and Dan fights the revolution leader in a giant robot.
The king doesnt actually kidnap the villagers

Wow I haven't heard from this game in so long. It always seemed like one of the more forgotten mobile games.
The nostalgia for this is insane! Haven’t seen anybody talk about this game before, so this is a lovely trip down memory lane.
FYI, the "umbrellas" are "awnings".
And I think my only exposure to DtM was the animated bits from Halfbrick Studios.

I think you can get an extra hit on the final boss if you do a jump kick as soon as you're finished with the 2x downwards kicks (sorry been a while since I played and forgot the name of the moves)

I played this alot in my childhood and also got all the achievements (some of them were a bit hard). Theres so much of the lore the game doesnt tell you about so i guess its okay to not know the story.

6:01 in the game youre helping out the rebellion not the king the reason why you fought the rebellion is because they betrayed you and they wanted to be the king(just providing some info)

This is a classic game! Such a masterpiece. Haven't played this game yet, but I have plans to play it!
Nostalgia kicks in
So, the thing I learned after playing this game with a hacked version, is that the custom skins deal more damage. Much more damage at that. You have 15% chance to deal 240 damage with a charge punch which kinda oneshot everything.
i played this when i was 6 or 7. i still play it and still will, also great to see this coming back alive!
As someone that has just finished "Story Mode" today, i gotta say, this man really is a professional speedrunner, i would've never thought of using the water to go faster, at least i knew how to spam downward kicks

I'd honestly say the custom character might have an easier time, seeing as they can equip items that give resistance.

For anyone who wants to play this one either speedrun wise or casual: Playing the classic version of the game removes the ads and skips the VHS tape animation as a result. It also makes unlocking Barry from Jetpack Joyride easier since all you need is the classic version of that game downloaded to unlock him and it also removes the wait time in-between levels.
This game was a classic, loved the game to death, im excited for the sequel

Oh man, I have a bunch of memories with this game.
Anyway, not sure if this was patched, but there is tech that I found faster than just downward kicks.
By using the strongest variant of the ultimate (hold attack and a direction before release), and immediately jumping, you would get put into a weird state where you’re pulled to the right of the screen if you change directions mid air. Simply walking to the right after changing directions either to left or right depending where you launched your ultimate will send you rightward ultra fast as long as you’re midair.
tl;dr
if strongest ult jump and swap directions game pulls right and can go fast in air only to right
Dan the man has some of the weirdest fucking lore I've ever seen.
It was pretty cool watching you do a speedrun in a game I hold some world records for. If you ever decide to do runs in it again I know the community would happy to give some advice. Like for instance it's actually better to do runs as the custom character since you can use outfit pieces to take less damage from environmental effects like the water or fire, have more health, and even do more damage with your attacks. With the right outfit you can actually completely skip that first train section on 4-1.

I remember discovering as a kid that upgrading the jump kick to the max level was actually worse than not upgrading it since the non fully levelled version only stunned enemies so you could combo it into a grab and uppercut them for more area damage, while the max level version just launches them.
In other words, fully levelled jump kick does 40 damage while the normal jump kick only does 20 damage, but since the level 1 jump kick doesn't launch you can jump kick an enemy, land, grab them and uppercut them for 60 damage, doing 20+60 damage which is twice as much as you would do with the fully levelled version in almost the same time
my trick is always do punch, grab, throw on first strike, then when thrown other enemies behind them will all get stunned, after the stun animation finish, i can do drop kick to kill all of the enemies. also i can use upper cuy, cuz it deals a lot to a group of enemies.
also, on pit level with hazard floor, always use throw, it force you to play more aggresively

This brings me back
the throw is really good for big groups near a terrain instakill since you can throw one person and knock back everyone in the line and get a lot of kills in a big area at once
also when close to a terrain kill its faster to throw the enemy into the terrain instead of do a full combo which takes longer
if you time it right you can get a dive upkick dive off in one jump so you can get 100 damage per jump which makes it so killing the elite drones happens a little faster
for a lot of the sections you could just ignore the healthbar and jump through the fire but even more often than he did it and just not get hit like a gamer
if youre in the air the stomp doesnt stun you
brown bats have 40 hp so a single upkick kills them
while youre in a throw animation youre invincible
for the guys with shields you can just jump up and dive kick right above them and if you went forwards far enough you can hit over their shields and knock them back
its also handy for knocking them back into a terrain instakill
if an enemy is stunned you can buffer your main combo to keep them stunned forever
doesnt work against shield enemies but can keep large groups of non shield enemies stunned until they die
the safest attack is to spam double dive kicks and stay on a different height level to the enemies so you dont get shot out of nowhere
the fastest anti air dps is to shorthop up kick
the story is that the king is oppressive and to really sell that hes oppressive he puts the dirt poor villagers on a treadmill to generate electricity and if they stop running they die in spikes
then theres a rebellion group which dan and his two guy friends and his gf is allied with
they go up and destroy the kings guards
in fact they destroy too hard because the rebels are shooting innocent people in the castle and taking no prisoners even when they surrender and one of dans guy friends gets killed by a rebel
finally they get to the king
the king and his men are all shot, but then the other guy friend and gf get mad at the rebel leader for all of the senseless violence and they both get shot and killed
dan attacks the rebel leader, the rebel leader gets in a giant mech final boss so and so
after the mech is destroyed the rebel leader gets out of the wreckage and detonates a bomb killing everyone left in the castle
dan respawns (essentially traveling back in time and keeping his memories) before the attack on the castle happens and gives a smackdown to the rebel leader and kills him before the rebel leader does all the bad stuff and gg game end
