That bump (and bar wobble) was scary to watch 😬 looked like it handled well though, and had a distinct sound to it too. (Plus, it's easy on the eyes...)
Yeah, it really is a nice looking bike. The sound is a little too subdued for my taste, but that's easy to change, and definitely not a knock on the bike. That bump, though, was something else! Glad I caught it on video, because I wanted to see what happened.
I think this bike should come standard with a steering stabilizer. Another Ytuber crashed due to a tank slap. I think it is the bike geometry/fat tire/high hp and low to the ground. Tank slaps are usually common on sport bikes... This isn't a sport bike but close to one.
I have a 2021 scout sixty and I'm 5' 3" I can easily flat foot it and if I had the reduced reach bars and the taller seat this back would have the perfect seating position for me. This is a great machine even sat on some of the dark horse bikes with bags and fairings and it didn't even feel heavy bringing it upright.

Nice! Wanted to ride the Chief Dark Horse, but they didn't have one on the demo truck. I had a blast on my first ride on Indian motorcycles. Hopefully not the last time. :D
I'm thinking of getting a 2nd bike and my choices are the Bobber or the Chieftain Darkhorse both 2019 model. I normally just go around town. So I really don't have the need for a bagger, but if I do, I could hop on it and go for a trip. The new darkhorse is also an inch lower, which helps me since I'm a shorter person at 5'5.
Both great choices, especially for shorter riders. I didn't ride the Dark Horse, but the standard Chieftain is really fun to ride, and I wouldn't even throw a "for a bagger" caveat in there. It was just fun. I'll have video up of that ride soon!
I've only ridden the Bobber and the XSR, and the two are so different. I'm guessing as cruisers, the Bobber, Vulcan and Bolt are going to perform similarly, but the XSR is a much more sporty. In other words, go with what makes you happy, and will have you wanting to ride it all the time! :D
The Scout Bobber is the reason why I go into riding. I was lucky to get a Vulcan S for a deal as my first bike and I love it, easy to handle as a first time rider and has room to grow when you become more experienced. I really need to test ride a scout bobber for when I’m ready to make a big purchase.
Do what you want dude. You don't need her damn permission. If you want one, buy it. Women love to think they can control men...only if you allow it. It's bullshit. You want it, get it.

In all other categories, and I mean all, the power, torque, tech, comfort, lights, engine braking, forward controls, everything on the Sportster S is just better. marcus
Yeah, I'm with you on this one. And, that exhaust on the Sportster S has grown on me. My only concern was the heat. Knowing now, that that's not an issue? Yeah, I'm sold on it. 👍🏽
Good view man but i must say you were nowhere near the top end of the power band, Iv owned one of these for a year now and i can say that the power band only kicks in at 3500rpm and revs to about 8000rmp. Iv only got mine up to about 7300rpm and I was going way, way past the legal speed limit with plenty more power let in it! Love this bike but would like something a bit bigger soon for longer rides.
My first inclining is that it would feel a little small for someone that size, but the way it feels and the way it looks is all relative. If you can, go throw a leg over, and even better take it out for a spin. That's my answer to these questions 99.9% of the time. Thanks for watching! :D
I'm 6'1 about 195 and I dont feel out of place at all. I think the bike height is perfect. It feels more like a natural motion when I'm putting my feet down while making a stop and it's a comfortable position when sitting there.
I don't know what it is about this bike... I just see it as the perfect motorcycle aesthetically. I would literally take this bike over any other. Also I'm 6'4" is this bike way too small for me or can I make it work? If it is too small for me what's a good alternative with the same styling?
I think you could make it work. The new Chief Dark Horse is a bigger bike and pretty slick, but nothing comes to mind as far as same styling in a bigger bike.
I can't say for sure, as I don't what it's like to be that tall, but you should definitely go sit on one (and ride it if possible) if you're interested. It's a great bike, and fun to ride. The forward controls may make it seems less cramped for a tall guy.
That bump unsprung the forks might have been the angle you hit bump you caught the rim of the bump you have a flat plane meeting a depression in the surface half the tire was on plane other in depression depression side was to the left plane side was to the right thus unspringing of the plane nice counter steer save 👊
You said a bigger rider. Height-wise big comes in a lot of different sizes. How big is big? There's a dire need for videos that shows the Scout with apes and a passenger seat, but then maybe there's a not so obvious reason for it.
I'm 6'1" and ride a standard Scout with about a 33" inseam and the stock control configuration. I have no problems with the size of the Scout. Folks with longer inseam do sometimes have complaints but the bike can fit people between 5' and about 6'3". As for two up or can do it but the stock suspension on mine (2016 model) near a its limits since I'm a big guy (230lbs) and adding a passenger of whatever weight can be a little wonky, but not bad.
What caused that handlebar shake? Just a bump? I've never had a bike do that. That's a very bad characteristic and I would not recommend or buy a bike that did that.
So, I wouldn't blame this on the bike at all, and in fact, if this bike had larger wheels with smaller tires, my wrist would have taken a lot more of the brunt of the jerk. A couple things, don't be like me and take one hand off the handlebar to check your blind spot. And secondly, be vigilant about using the 10 second rule and scan the road ahead. It was a large, but not deep pot hole, that caused the shake and I probably should have seen it coming. Thanks goodness I had enough speed that the momentum kept me going forward. If I had been going slower, I think I may have ended up on the pavement.
@@thatoneguymoto Large but deep should not be that bad. Deep ones are the ones that could throw you if it was deep enough. Or if you hit the edge of a rut or curb, that could be bad. Did you hit the edge of the hole?
There USED to be a MONTHLY M/C Publication, called "FRICTION ZONE." It WAS FREE. It was @ M/C Dealers, ALL OVER. I MET the Lady Publisher, @ SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Triumph. I haven't had a BIKE, for a FEW YEARS. My LAST, was a 2011 DYNA StreetBob. I've ridden a Scout, & a Chieftan. I have 2 PROBLEMS. The FIRST, is NO MONEY. #2, is MORE SERIOUS. I have PARKINSON'S DISEASE. I CAN'T EVEN RIDE A BICYCLE. I've thought about this ALOT. My solution? A SIDECAR. I've been to the SIDECAR RALLY, in Griffith Park ALOT. (Southern California) JS
boy I wish I could learn to ride a motorcycle. definitely would get this bobber. yikes bumps, stuff like that would make me more nervous while learning using bike.
Do it! Getting your M1 motorcycle endorsement is relatively easy. The Scout Bobber is a great bike, and I would recommend it as a starter, if you've got the $$.
Indeed. I've ridden a cruiser for most of my years riding, so I'm used to it, but if you're used to riding a sport bike, or adventure, this will take an adjustment.
The bike is amazing except for 3 things! 1) the exhaust is to long and odd, it makes you pay attention to it more than the bike, all you see is the exhaust. 2) The gas fill looks to generic, something you would find on a Japanese bike. 3) the ignition switch looks generic and something you would find on a Japanese bike. Other than those things the bike is perfect! 👍🏻👍🏻
When discussing cruisers, "nice and quiet" shouldn't be part of the conversation. A stock Indian Scout sounds anemic (great bike otherwise.) The 1st upgrade would be some slip-ons.
Aw shucks! Keep at it. I wouldn't say bug her all the time, but if it's what you really want, she'll need to know it's not a passing fancy. Good luck, bud!
It's better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. I helped a friend pick up a sport bike he'd bought without telling his wife. The look in her eyes when she saw I was driving his truck and he rolled up on the bike... I tossed him the keys and got out of Dodge. He was in the dog house for a few weeks then all was well.
Skilled rider ? Don’t you think a skilled rider would have seen that man hole ? And a skilled rider would get out of 3-4 th gear that bagger weights twice as much and he is killing your skills
I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and comment. Yes. A skilled rider can miss obstacles in the road, especially in a group setting where other riders ahead of you don't avoid it. And yes, a skilled rider can take time getting familiar with a new bike. Also, a bike that weighs twice as much cant be as fast, or faster than a lighter bike. Also, this demo test ride was also not a race. Again, thanks for watching! :D
that one guy I am not saying people can not miss things or make mistakes . But last I knew on trst rides u were supposed to stick with the group . Was a fine video until u self proclaimed your a motorcycle Jesus . But then again a Harley owner so why did I expect more . Thank god I and I only am a skilled rider anyone else would have crashed . Keep up the complex
I'm afraid you mistook my tone. Watch some of my other videos and you'll get an idea of my personality. I'm a sarcastic, self deprecating guy. It sounds like you have an issue with Harley riders, but I can assure we are a not all the same. Take care and Happy New Year! :D
Please elaborate. This IS the review. I read about this bike before I rode it, and shared some of what I read while I was riding it, while giving my impressions. If there is something missing that you wanted, please let me know. Thanks for watching. :)

Nah mate. You gotta get a H2
@@danmancino22 lmao
Good view man but i must say you were nowhere near the top end of the power band, Iv owned one of these for a year now and i can say that the power band only kicks in at 3500rpm and revs to about 8000rmp. Iv only got mine up to about 7300rpm and I was going way, way past the legal speed limit with plenty more power let in it! Love this bike but would like something a bit bigger soon for longer rides.
Would someone who is 6’0” 250lbs be out of place on a bike like this ?
My first inclining is that it would feel a little small for someone that size, but the way it feels and the way it looks is all relative. If you can, go throw a leg over, and even better take it out for a spin. That's my answer to these questions 99.9% of the time. Thanks for watching! :D
I'm 6'1 about 195 and I dont feel out of place at all. I think the bike height is perfect. It feels more like a natural motion when I'm putting my feet down while making a stop and it's a comfortable position when sitting there.
6'1" and 250 when I bought my Scout with standard control setup. I feel fine on the bike. Go throw a leg over and see what you think.
@@thatoneguymoto thanks 🙂
The Chief has a bobber style too
How much is insurance on these bieks?
Would you recommend this to someone who's 6'4?
I can't say for sure, as I don't what it's like to be that tall, but you should definitely go sit on one (and ride it if possible) if you're interested. It's a great bike, and fun to ride. The forward controls may make it seems less cramped for a tall guy.
I’m 6’2” and I fit just fine. Riding position is an acquired taste though
i love this bike
I don’t want to be that one guy but what’s the intro song

That bump unsprung the forks might have been the angle you hit bump you caught the rim of the bump you have a flat plane meeting a depression in the surface half the tire was on plane other in depression depression side was to the left plane side was to the right thus unspringing of the plane nice counter steer save 👊

@@thatoneguymoto thats going to happen to all bikes in that case 😁
Punctuation is not a crime. Feel free to use it.
You said a bigger rider. Height-wise big comes in a lot of different sizes. How big is big? There's a dire need for videos that shows the Scout with apes and a passenger seat, but then maybe there's a not so obvious reason for it.
By bigger, I simply meant bigger than I am. I definitely could have been clearer. Thanks for watching! 🤓
I'm 6'1" and ride a standard Scout with about a 33" inseam and the stock control configuration. I have no problems with the size of the Scout. Folks with longer inseam do sometimes have complaints but the bike can fit people between 5' and about 6'3". As for two up or can do it but the stock suspension on mine (2016 model) near a its limits since I'm a big guy (230lbs) and adding a passenger of whatever weight can be a little wonky, but not bad.
just bought my new scout bobber 2019 6 days ago, this is one sexy bike, bit shit in the wind but fuck i love it
I agree. This bike IS sexy, and as a shorter rider, I was impressed that you could lean it a little, with the ride height being so low. Enjoy! 🤓🤘
I must have hit the edge. I love the concern by the viewers on this video. Thanks! :D
I am thinking about buy one of those but I am 5'11 great video btw
Thank you very much. Every time I see this bike, I think I like it more. Good luck in deciding! 👍
What is a bike on the intro (1-7")?
That was my bike. A 2013 H-D Dyna Fat Bob (the rear fender is from a Wide Glide).
nice bike good job dude like
Thank you very much!
I want to trade my 2017 Honda rebel 500 for one of this one but idk if I should lol
That would be a nice next bike from your Rebel. If the timings right, go for it! 👍🏽
There USED to be a MONTHLY M/C Publication, called
"FRICTION ZONE." It WAS FREE.
A SIDECAR.
I've been to the SIDECAR RALLY, in Griffith Park ALOT.

boy I wish I could learn to ride a motorcycle. definitely would get this bobber. yikes bumps, stuff like that would make me more nervous while learning using bike.
Do it! Getting your M1 motorcycle endorsement is relatively easy. The Scout Bobber is a great bike, and I would recommend it as a starter, if you've got the $$.
Anyone who likes the curves is going to have problems with a 29 deg. lean angle.
Indeed. I've ridden a cruiser for most of my years riding, so I'm used to it, but if you're used to riding a sport bike, or adventure, this will take an adjustment.
Scout=Mechanical-Stallion;&FTR=Mechanical-Cheetah.
👍🏻👍🏻
Definitely agree with the exhaust. Other than that, definitely one of the sharpest bobbers out there. 😎
When discussing cruisers, "nice and quiet" shouldn't be part of the conversation. A stock Indian Scout sounds anemic (great bike otherwise.) The 1st upgrade would be some slip-ons.
There are folks who don't want a loud exhaust, but yeah, I'm not one of them and wouldn't want my bike classified as "nice and quiet" either. 😆😆
Love!!! This bike sexy!!!!
Needs Mini-Apes
That would definitely change the look, and feel considerably.
If I ever see someone ruin this bike with those, I would punch them in the face.
Update on convincing my wife.........👎👎👎👎
Aw shucks! Keep at it. I wouldn't say bug her all the time, but if it's what you really want, she'll need to know it's not a passing fancy. Good luck, bud!
Shouldn’t ask just tell
It's better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. I helped a friend pick up a sport bike he'd bought without telling his wife. The look in her eyes when she saw I was driving his truck and he rolled up on the bike... I tossed him the keys and got out of Dodge. He was in the dog house for a few weeks then all was well.
@@pjamese3 such a great friend 😆
Just buy it.
What's the bike at the very beginning? fat boy?
2013 Dyna Fat Bob
Just wow. Another troll for the ages.
What a douchebag. Dont worry about this guy man. He obviously has his panties in a twist about something
“If you’re a shorter guy”. Respectfully, you are a shorter guy
Not denying. The allusion was if YOU are, under the assumption that I am, also. ✌🏽
I love my Bobber but I hate the round bar end mirrors. Beyond ugly
Scott Stewart I’ve always loved them
I'm with you there...
You have no idea about this bike. At least take the time to review the product before giving an opinion.
Please elaborate. This IS the review. I read about this bike before I rode it, and shared some of what I read while I was riding it, while giving my impressions. If there is something missing that you wanted, please let me know. Thanks for watching. :)
