    Awesome men! I've been watching the whole process. Excellent! Inspire me in order to finish my 1980 toyota corona. Saludos desde Perú 🇵🇪!

      @@hcr-motorworks Can you provide a list of parts you had zinc plated?

    Nice work.
    Zinc plating spec is ASTM B633 Type II yellow chromate and Type III clear chromate.
    I’m guessing buildup is SC2-3.

      I'd have to look up the spec sheet to know what the build up was but we had a few cast parts that out gassed during this process and will probably be powder coated instead :/

    Sending all those parts out would make the hairs on my neck stand up. Super detailed list of what you give them I'm guessing.
    Cost?

      I actually made no list, i did most of the leg work when it came to grouping the parts together and had an idea of if an entire group was missing or not. Plus the shop I used is top notch on keeping track of orders. Cost was around 600 for the whole lot of parts. Not cheap, but also not overly outrageous either

    Prepping for somebody to do the zink plating may be but does not a zink plating video make

    How do most plating shops charge? Do they charge by the piece, by the pound etc ? Can you say how much you spent on all that plating?

    • @hcr-motorworks
      @hcr-motorworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every shop will be different, for these parts you want to find a shop that can do rack plating. Barrel plating is great for nuts and bolts and solid pieces but will destroy thin sheet metal parts.
      This whole lot cost $600 to get done.
      Thanks for watching!
