Could we have a vid about pre workout or pre jump nutrition or carbs totals etc? Like what should I eat beforehand? Really hope you can make that happen. Thanks
How can someone who works out alone, do heavy eccentric work? Example, heavy eccentric squat down, how do I get the weight back up to do another eccentric?
There is a problem with heavy weights you don't talk about. Most athletes can't tranfere the load into the target muscles. Especially with bilateral barbell lifts! At best there is a little slack in the core/spine. But often athletes CNS never fully recruit their MUs because there movement pattern /brain is not well trained. Why doing submax squats if you can do single leg depth drops. The drops will overload the knee and ankle joint more than any squat will do. For the hips it's really difficult to overload them. Maybe Single leg Bridge drops with bands.. If you still want to do bilateral squats. I would do flywheel squats over weigths for sure. The flywheel produce the most force/impulse! The weighted squats will destroy your back hips. The flywheel squat is a more back hip friendly but as you said can wrack the knees. The flywheel is indeed a speciwl device wich can lead to special results if it's used the proper way.
Thats just wrong. Everything you ve said. Heavy weights recruit the most of the muscle fibers in targeted muscle group. Thats why every pro athlete does them. Where else do they "transfer the load"? Whatever that means. Also, you use periodization to focus on different qualities of muscle, such as hypertrophy, strength, speed etc. Just squatting wont make you jump higher, but thats not all you do. Why doing submax squats if you can do single leg depth drops? Because those depth drops doesnt train those qualities. There is no time under tension in the ligament and muscle. Also it is way harder to progress. You can add variation to the squat for the rest of your life, you cant do with those depth drops... Last think. Idk who you are listening to, but everything youve said is blatantly wrong and will make athlete worse. If you wanna be great, you cant run from heavy weights
@stud_end123 maybe you are one of those meathead strength coaches who life in the gym. True freak athletes don't need to touch a single weight to perform at the elite level. And average athletes can do all the weight training for years but won't make it close to that high level because they don't have the CNS and no weight training will help. The best jumpers and sprinters got so far mostly from doing their sport with focus and dedication. But you can do you squats and hope getting better at squating until your body can't handle it because its not build for having a heavy bar on the back doing faulty movements..
Adding Ben felt like I was listening to 2 John’s with unlimited information and I am now overwhelmed 😂

Demon slayer is the perfect analogy for jump training
Thank God you understand

Can you make a video on IT band syndrome?
Isaiah, THANK YOU for using cleaner language! Jon, SHAME on you 😂😂😂. Thanks boys, I’ll keep watching, but don’t me make pull out soap for your mouth 😅

How about tempo running and approach max vertical jump guys? Is there any positive correlation?
I'm only about a minute and a half into the video, but my main takeaway is that if you want to jump high you need to be a fucking weeb.

Pins, take off weight, pin squat
Two legs up one leg down
Thanks fellas
