      Hey everyone, the best results that ive ever had was by using the Sues Trainer Tactics (just google it) without a doubt the best resource i've tried.

    It's nice to see someone inventing a more economical way to train their cat to the toilet! Good luck in your training! I can't see why this wouldn't work, DYI is certainly patient enough after substituting parts. Way to go!

    I think your quite ingenious in how you approached making the device. I like the fact you used a bunt pan and your recycling cardboard so bravo. To those that criticise your methods or products or manufacturing techniques I say. Use your head to think up an innovation or plunk down 50-70 bucks for a few plastic rings. As one inventor and innovator to another I applaud you. As the adage goes "Necessity is the mother of invention".I plan on building something along the same lines but with an oblong hole a smaller version of the actual seat which will allow the cats to both balance and do their business. Happy New Year keep on inventing! The store bought system have a number of inherent flaws so their is room for superior designs presently offered!

    Thank you young lady for your video....I prompty went out and built a working model with a change in the design :
    The litter from walmart that is scented and costs about 6.50 a bag is perfect for this application.Even after repeated soakings from rain storms (storms,not just showers) this litter holds its form and keeps its shape. I put a colander on the bowl,suspended by stiff cardboard, and put a heavy 9 in. aluminum cake pan (with beveled sides) on top of the lift-up seat. I cut a 3 in. hole in the pan and glued the base of a plastic juice squeezer (with a 3 in. hole in its bottom) to the pan so that litter wont pour easily through the hole... What does go through the hole will be caught in the colander and whatever excess urine in it will drain into the toilet bowl,and not the litter. Thus one should not need to buy special flushable litter that no doubt has a special flushable price attached to it! I have six members in my cat family,and even thought hey have developed an efficient strategy with their litter pans (they use two for crapping in and the other two for urinating,,,they figured this out on their own!) it will be nice to stop purchasing litter and then having to dispose of it...and the air quality in the house will improve much as well...I am anxious to get them started!

    Thank you so much for this very informative and money saving video! I have wanted to toilet train my cat for quite a while but could not afford the expensive kits that are available. For people who have indoor cats, this will make for a cleaner home as well. Even though cats are considered to be a clean animal, they still track feces through the house after using their litter box. It is unavoidable, since they cover their b.m.s! I can't wait to be free of the litter box and buying cat litter!

    Baby wipes work great on crusted stains. So typically I use baby wipes on crusted stains around the house (it works great at getting bugs and tar off cars), then alcohol to completely get rid of residue.

    Very nice DIY project. Thank you for posting it. I appreciate your ingenuity. You might need to have a few more steps - more gradually increasing the size of the opening, for your cat to be comfortable and not have many setbacks. I just ordered the Citikitty, for $30 - still a bit high for a cheapskate like me, but it will be more than worth it if we're successful. I'm wondering about your success, and will check your other videos.

    I was searching a bit on eBay after watching your video, and I found a mock of CitiKitty (I think that's other other brand? I'm not sure) and it's just the plastic thing that goes on the toilet with the weird rings you're supposed to cut, but it costs $6! So I'm gonna order that soon and hopefully it's sturdy enough...only thing I'm worried about is the actual litter, I bought 3 tubs since they were on sale and my cat is barely getting to the last tub hahaha

    Is that your design? Was the bottom one your first phase? All I recall from a previous video of yours, was seeing a revenge poop on the bed. Correct? Me too, if it makes you feel better! 😘 The $30.00 Amazon purposed container was way to shallow for Draco, who likes to dig around a bit. I'm trying to envision a design to go over toilet and have sufficient depth to entice. Enjoyed your originality.

    Hi, I have one question, have tried to google but couldn't find exactly what I was after. My cat is toilet trained now. she can use the toilet which i am very proud. BUT, there is a problem! she is curious of the water in the toilet, so she would dip her paw in the water or even attempt to drink from the water in the toilet. I am trying to figure out a solution, so if anyone has any suggestions i would be much appreciated! Please don't say close the toilet lid. lol because it needs to be opened at all times for my cat to use the toilet.Thank you!

    if a cat wants to go at night, can it go without the lights on? I'm really new to this cat thing, so I don't know much.
    also, I have another smaller bathroom, and I was thinking about making it for just my cat so I won't have to share the main bathroom with it. but it's a little darker because not much light comes through the window. would that be a problem? or will the cat be okay?

    • @VladimirLadev
      @VladimirLadev 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +TheGoldenlegend1 yes it can, just as it goes at night on a regular box, if it knows where to go it wouldn't have any problems.

      i would imagine they would like a night light to help them in the bathroom.. its one thing for them to climb into a sturdy litter box but slippery toilet seat with water below it is a recipe for disaster for a cat in the dark! it might even make them not want to use it...so i will be using a night light for my cat

    • @youtoober2013
      @youtoober2013 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Kippy_chan
      The term is patronization.
      Literally meaning to treat with an apparent kindness that betrays a feeling of superiority. The tone you took in addressing this girl and her efforts was insincere and deceitful -and what was in fact, rude.
      Everyone sees through an attitude like that, but little speak up to it.
      Seems you don't get such a passive response when people have a chance to sit behind their keyboards and write words back to you.
      There appears to be a more honest retaliation.
      What boggles my mind is, why you would take the time to betray your tone in writing so that we could all understand you we disparaging her.
      ... as if to get more thumbs up...
      -let alone continue in the same tone to dismiss those that have stood up for her because they wouldn't feel right letting that slide in real life.
      ...snippy?... please.
      These people, as have I now done, have gone out of our way to not only defend the truth, this girl and the principle of communication in general, but have taken the time to personally enlighten you to the fact that quite possibly the way you deliberately phrase your comments is not advisable, well received or even respected at all, to the point where even if you were right people would still feel that you should say it with SOME humility.
      ...Hopefully you're at least the age of majority... or just really smart.
      Otherwise I fear this is all for naught.
      If after reading this, you can admit that you are in fact the one who is wrong, concede that you were unnecessarily patronizing her and resolve your own inner motivations for doing so, then not only will I still have hope for all humanity and a better world free of the judgement of race and class, but I will also personally commend you in response for keeping that hope alive... do you understand now?
      Take your time... think about it... do your research if you have to...
      -or don't respond... I don't think I could take it :\

    dont be dumb. you should not be flushing your cat’s litter or feces down the toilet. It can cause havoc on your plumbing, clog pipes, and damage your septic system. Your septic system operates on a delicate balance of microbes and is designed to process human waste and biodegradable tissue only. Flushing your cat’s feces adds more solid waste load into the biological mix going on in the septic tank. Not only can this extra load disrupt the tank’s microbial balance it can even cause harm to the environment.
