    BYD is buying available car factories as in Brazil. They make their own advanced batteries. Tough competition. If they start with an already built factory, they likely can produce quicker, and perhaps produce both EV and gas versions. This in the long run may be a winning strategy. We shall see.

    • @jeffreyoneill4082
      @jeffreyoneill4082 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think Telsa has shown converting an ICE factory to EV is inefficient.
      better to start with a blank slate and design purely for EV production.

    • @jonahbert111

      @@jeffreyoneill4082 I am not buying that. When time to market is so critical here, BYD knows what they are doing. Also, BYD makes hybrid and pure ICE cars too. These markets are not going away anytime soon, especially outside the Western countries.

      What BYD is doing is called a Brownfield conversion. It is been proven time and time again that a greenfield plant, which is designed specifically for a product is immensely more efficient.

    Just about every car on the market right now uses steering wheel stalks, this is a bold break with tradition for a mass market affordable car. I can't help thinking that this will put many people off since it takes a bit more than a short test drive to adjust. There's a difference between updating the interior to make it more minimalist - for example removing buttons - and changing a fundamental element of the driving control which has become a learned behaviour and very much part of the 'muscle memory' of driving and that's indicating via stalks and gear selection. My guess is that the feedback from test drives of this vehicle will overwhelming be negative on the change to these two control elements.

      Until people actually try it their will be an OUTCRY from some who have already decided it's a "deal breaker" but when they see it on the roads and listen to a few others, order a test drive and then ... Just like the door handles, the interior, the screen and many other things Tesla did before anyone else and since, the noise calms down the the sales keep growing.

      You can probably control everything that the stalks did with voice commands. It's probably no coincidence that the latest software update improve that feature a lot. And being a forward-looking company, Tesla sees great advantage in getting the stalks out of vehicles that will likely be in autonomous ride-hailing service during their lifetimes. Less stuff for drunk passengers to break.

    Not Highland. Just new Model 3, according to Tesla. Codename Project Highland have been misunderstood for a looong time, and that is something entirely different from a refresh of a 6 year old car🤪. Project Highland in Fords 1913 terminology is specified by: A brand new car (Elons compelling compact), a new production platform and a brand new factory, especially customdesigned to fit the car. Main goal is to cut the costs by 50%. 😎Elons project will according to himself (Q3) produce a mindblowing demand exceeding all other models combined. By the way: Factory is supposed be built in the Highlands of Nuevo Leon mexico.
