A cheap DIY HOME STUDIO DESK - (no talk, free plan)

  • This is the making of my new home studio desk.
    I managed to make it cheap but suited on my needs. The cost of the materials are about 500€. Of course you need power tools, cnc, clamps, and so on. The most satisfying part was the precision obtained with cnc cutting. All the joints went in like butter. The most difficult part was of course the painting. It took a good amount of time since the surfaces of the structure are about 15-18 square meters. If i had to do it again maybe I would spend more on wood and less on painting choosing a natural finish.

    drive.google.com/file/d/1F5UxO9H19P2n8djuyNbajTtz_PG_0VkK/view?usp=sharing
    I know that this is designed with cnc in mind, but remember that machines are only tools. There is nothing you can't do with some craftmanship.
    I hope you will like it. If you will make your build, please let me know how it came out. If you want to share your build, please quote me or link my video. Have fun!

      Monitors in the video are way below ears height. They need to be raised with additional stands. It depends on the size of monitor of course. In my case no problem to make some specific stands. Nice job, but why on earth would you make so much effort and design it with your studio monitors blocked by the dual 19" racks? Even with isolation pads you are blocking a significant portion of your woofer and creating a reflection surface which colors the sound. Isn't the main function of a studio to record produce and ultimately listen to your production in the most accurate way possible?

    • @donatellodiclemente7527
      @donatellodiclemente7527  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because in the video the speakers are just placed on the table without any stand. You can see the tweeters are about 20 cm below listener's ears. I thought it was clear that a monitor could not be simply placed on a table where you put your arms. Please guys, it's not a finished studio, just look at it as a sketch.

    Sorry but nothing about this video is DIY. The tools you have at your disposal are on the level of a professional level and the average DIYer just does not have access to these. That being said, its a great video for ideas and a really great design.

    Once I saw the CNC machine I stopped watching... not typical DIY.

    Hi Donatello, thank you so much for sharing this project and providing the plans for free! I am considering building this project and have access to a CNC machine. Would it be ok to share the CAD file (.dxf .ai .dwg) if that is what you used? Again thanks so much for sharing this.
