    Very clear and comprehensive explanation of these techniques. I’ve used Vocal Align a fair amount and this added a great deal to my understanding. And the use of manual correction afterwards was very enlightening; I now see why my prior efforts there haven’t gotten good results!.
    The way you zoom in on key controls adds a great deal to your videos. I often watch them on a small screen and that technique makes all the difference between getting it clearly and going “huh, what??”.

      Thanks for your comments. Good to know that the zooming in works for you since I’ve been experimenting with various ways lately.

    Man, you should teach online to advanced users for money. I would be the first one to go for it. I have been following you for months, you are a straightforward teacher and you don't do what we all hate : screwing around the mouse cursor making our eyes and head go crazy. Actually, you should teach this to a VIP Cubase teacher, Greg Ondo. He is a reference in Cubase but your teaching skills are way, way, way ahead.

    Excellent video once again!! TWO QUESTIONS: 1.At the step of removing real-time processing (7m12), you showed 2 ways of doing it: the "Flatten Realtime Processing" function and the "Bounce" function... Does one of them have any benefit over the other? 2.I'm surprised that the "Musical Mode" of the clip (not of the track) is not set to Musical in the Info-Line... I thought that whenever warping was applied in realtime TO A CLIP, that clip had to be in Musical Mode (or that it automatically sets itself to Musical Mode) for the warping to be "played back"? Maybe the Musical Mode OF A CLIP (not of a track) is only strictly related to tempo editing? Thanks again, your channel is one of the best of its kind!

      Thank you! To your questions: 1. I typically use bounce because I can use it for a lot of other things as well. Not because it’s inherently better though. Just more muscle memory ;). 2. I’m not sure actually. I didn’t even notice. It does all work though.

    Hi I really appreciate your Cubase Videos. Is there a way to do this in Cubase 13 Artist, please?

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well the audio alignment panel is available in Cubase Pro only, but the manual warping should be doable in Cubase artist as well I believe. If you want an alternative for the alignment you could look at a third party product like this: www.synchroarts.com/vocalign but that is going to cost you of course.

    I‘m currently working on a recording, where I already edited the vocal tracks with Melodyne. Is it possible to also edit those tracks with the alignment tool in cubase or do I have to make the changes in Melodyne (ARA) permanently before I can align the tracks?

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I personally also make any changes permanent anyway after each edit step. I just make a new track version and then consolidate the edit. So I have never tried what you're asking. But I guess it is easy to try. Let us know whether it worked for you.

    Hi, thanks for this video. Excellent channel btw, I've subscribed. As for aligning vocals with the method you described in this video - will it work for backing vocals where the final notes of a phrase are held too long on some of the takes? I've been recording a song with my band and some of the backing vocals recorded hold the final note too long or sing them a touch too late, so it doesn't sound as tight as it could be. I've tried editing the tracks manually, but if this automatic vocal alignment can fix these issues it'd be so much quicker and easier. I use Cubase too btw, it's a fantastic and very powerful DAW.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for subscribing. For me it doesn’t always fully fix this situation but then I end up doing it manually. The automatic alignment works best to give that extra bit of tightness when alignment is already pretty good.

      VocAlign contains a bit more functionality on that front I believe, but if you don't need that, might as well stay with what Cubase offers out of the box.
