I'm so happy that I chose cubase as my DAW. It's an absolute powerhouse and it just keeps getting better. Thank you Dom for showcasing stuff that I missed.
You need to bounce the copy first, I had the same issue, and I don't know why he does not explain that.
Amazing
I have been learning a lot with your videos
Greatings from Angola - Africa

Wow! Thanks for your sharing!
The change is affecting the original Chanel sir

Great video. Thank you so much!
..this is amazing..thank you Dom!!
Thank you for this!! And perfect timing for me since I just started working with some variaudio harmonies on some tracks ❤
Thanks!
Hi Dom. Thank you so much for making this video. This is going to be my new model for making my vocal harmonies in my music. I really appreciate you sharing all of your music knowledge with us beginners. You are making us become better young producers of our own music. I have saved so many of your videos for future use. People like you help we musicians and singers out so much, with our musical growth. I wish your continued success with all of your musical videos and everything else you do musically. I also wish you continued success financially as well. Have a wonderful day. Thank you again so very very much.
Awesome!!!❤❤💯💯
Thank you Master ...every secret a story ....!!!!
Thanks Dom. I guess i missed something but each time i transpose the second voice (duplicate) it transpose the first too .... strange isn't it ?? Fabrice
Thank you for this awesome tip. Can't wait to use it!❤😊
Thanks Dom. I've been using the "Generate Harmony" voice feature which can be hit or miss and often shifts vocals way to low. This gives a lot more control. Awesome video.
Thanks Dom. 👏🏻
Thank you.
Thank you so much
Thanks Dom, Short and sweet and very helpful, as always. And... it helps to start with awesome vocals, doesn't it!
Thank you Dom. It's very interesting.

DOM FTW
thank you so much
Un grand merci pour cette formidable explication ! Merci Dom !
Thank you dom 🫶 after 2 months of watching tutorials im finally ready to get cubase 12 😎
Bye bye FL
Isn't it necessary to bounce the audio of the duplicated channel? I thought the VariAudio edits would affect both clips at the same time?
Great info! So if wanted to create harmonies panned left and right for my lead vocal. I first duplicate the vocal track bounced it in place then panned it left and adjusted to 25.00 milliseconds activated the Vari Audio and created the harms for the panned left. So now to created harmonies for the right I just duplicate the left harm track bounce in place and pan the duplicated harm track right and adjust the milliseconds -25.00 will this work or is there a better way? Thanks so much for all the great info and sharing your talent with us.😎
Quite amazing Trick
Thanks
Dom, I have learned so much from you THANK YOU, when I do this. The original track changes pitch with the duplicate. I have done it several times. I have a high end system, and have rebooted and reloaded. But everytime. when I change the dupliacate track the original track changes with it! A weird bug on my system? A check box somewhere checked? I don't know.
I have the same issue
Thank you Dom for this Video. I love Cubase since SX and i love your Videos! ❤
Thank you for these tips Dom, now I can start using it for myself in many recordings I have and in the future. Greetings from The Netherlands. 👍👍🎼🎼🧡🧡 p.s. I don't see it in my Cubase 11 Pro, is scale assistent only available in Cubase 12 pro Vari audio?
Great walkthru, Dom!
Would love to get to know your approach on humanizing drums that were done with MIDI programming.
Magnifico. Does it work also with cubase 11 ?
Thanks 🍻 brilliant video. If possible would like to know how to tune any vocal to any melody in variaudio
Thanks for the video..what DAW controllers do you have there, please?
awesome
😍😍😍
Nice, Dom. But when I edit the pitch the main vocal follows the changes I make in the duplicated. They follow each other - can't be separated. What do I do wrong???
THANK.Y I.M VERI HAPPY
❤❤❤❤
oh, Dom, that was great :o
Could you somehow modulate the track delay for more natural 2nd vocal??
How do you make the keyboard light up in key like that?
Hello, I have a problem that maybe you can help me! I do the same steps as you in Cubase Pro 12 but when I make a copy of the vowel and pass it through VariAudio to create a harmony, it affects the original track in the same way and does not allow me to make harmonies to the voice since it lowers or raises the pitch the same. next to the original track! Please could you help me with this?
thank you very much for your videos
I did this and had no problem, however, I did get a message box when I moved the notes that said, do you want to create new, to which I said "Yes", this way it did not effect the original
ha ha wow nice brother
Great video, tried it on one of my songs, worked brilliantly, thanks!
The change is affecting the original Chanel can you please help me out
Sounds like some parts needed harmonic minor and others melodic minor. Is it possible to select so the notes from both harmonic and melodic are included in snap ?
Would love if you could explain the music theory side of this... like why did you lower the harmony notes two steps and not three. Thank you for the great video
I believe in this case he is harmonising with sixth notes... Say your note was a C, the harmony would be singing an A (assuming C major scale).
Hello, when i coming Cubase 13 ? 😊
Hypersonic v1 has already become free after the expiration of time?
The harmony sounds is so natural. I'm going to experiment on one of my songs.
Thanks Dom for the video. when dublicating the track both of them are getting the smae change in vari audio can't change one of them?
Great video! Is there a way to adjust the formant to account for “chipmunk” sound, if raising the note?
Select all the variaudio events, then on the left panel you can adjust the formants at once. A few percent is all that is needed, adjust it by ear. Then you will want to listen through as some words are more affected than others, so you can then select individual words.
I now often adjust the formants on my vocals a bit to remove some tone in my voice that I don't like.
A random question: Does Cubase read only vst or AU too?!
I don’t have cubase pro version, but Element version, so i cant do Vari-audio, unless, i use my Halion 7, which has some kind of alternative Vari-audio, , think it is Warp audio ??, but could i use Halion 7 instead of Cubase pro , for this purpose ???.
Dom, hi, very interesting video , thanks. From the video in is not very clear if in order to make the second voice, you move two steps down,( 2x half a note?), or a mayor second, (four half steps, four notes down), or a minor second, 3 steps/3 half notes), I will be waiting for ypu answer. Thanks a lot beforehand
Is scale assist available in CB11Artist? I don't see it.
hello, please tell if there’s an option in Cubase of finding out specifically which instruments were used in a song? maybe an instrument identifier (esp including vst instruments) exists? Really gotta know
But I find the original audio track changes also. I've got Cubase Pro 9.5 so maybe that's an issue.
Hi friend. When i changed the pitch original track pitch also changing. I'm using cubase 10.5. and some features you are showing can't see in my cubase.
Hi Dom, I had an issue with moving single notes in a chord generated from variaudio. Greg Ondo says this, "Select the track and go to the chords tab in the inspector and set the follow chord track to off." This worked for me using Cubase 11 on a Mac. I hope this is helpful for someone.
Cubase 13 Is Coming 🔥
I'm excited , but saw some leaks looks like no major updates I've seen as yet.
Since Vari Audio 3 in Cubase I no longer need Melodyne.
Soundquality is absolutely the same - but with much better audio integration and faster editing capabilities.
Would like to see VA4 !
Dom, great video but when I go step by step with your instructions . The notes snap back to the original location……….help😢
Is there a way to make them also adapt to the chords in the chord track??
Yo Dom! whats the little screen on your right that showing the Analyzer? (Is it SuperVision?)
I want to have a permanent little Analayzer screen just like your's, could I just use like a 21" inch screen and Drag my SuperVision to there? OR isit like a dedicated screen for Cubase using?
THX!
qu - what happens if there is a key change in the song? how will vari audio adapt? could you make a video on that please?
If you specify the different scales along the Chord Track, you can have vari audio use this as note guide.
when you do vocal recordings is your session in 24bit 44.100 hz or 48.000hz? best regards
Unfortunately I can’t make it works as in your demonstration Dom. My duplicated track’s audio event points to the same original audio file so that any modifications done to the duplicated track is reflected in the original one. To fix that, I had to bounce the duplicated audio event to a new file. From now on, I can create harmonies as in your video.
You need to render the duplicate into its own stem.
Ya indeed. It is just that Dom forgot to demonstrate how to do this!@@templemusicstudio_gh
i have the same issue how do you render into its own stem ....thank you@@templemusicstudio_gh
In a Greg Ondo livestream I saw, he points out that there's a preference to set if you want to use the "Duplicate Tracks" function without the need to bounce in place the duplicated event to process it as in this video. Just set this preference: Preferences > Editing > Audio > On Processing Shared Clips > Create New Version.
Hi Dom. Another great video - thank you. However, do you have any idea why when I edit the duplicated track in Variaudio, it is affecting both the original and the duplicated track? Cheers :-)
bounce it
@@izzyizzm8761 did that.
Hello i Am a classic singer can you make a example the next time greetings Andre.
Suppe sir ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi, thank you for this video, but i got problem here : when i edit the second track, the first one is pitched too. So I can't harmonize :(
Any idea ? There was a message box about something like "create a new" or "continue", I choose "continue" and "don't show again". So now I can't try with "create a new" (something like that)
Thank you !
I'd Love to See a deep dive in the detect silence functionality with cubase. Manually editing and cross fading track events is not fun. =(
Dom, when I do this to a duplicated track changes applied to both tracks. Please help!!??
How to change mouse zoom settings to alt key instead of ctrl?
Hello Dom. I´ve used all your tricks HOWEVER....the duplicated channel also shift in pitch. Why and how do I solve it? Thanks for a superwonderful youtube chanel. Ole
Followed the whole thing but when chose a note to drop 3 tones, the whole vocal did not follow. What am I missing.
Great tip, but (there always is one, isn't there) I see two small issues. Both the delay and the pitchshift are static. i.e. they vary the same amout with every note. No singer is that exact. Again, with the possible exception of Farrokh Bulsara. If there was a way to modulate these (say, with a Random LFO) ever so slightly, the illusion would be even more convincing.
There is a way. Using the Waves ADT plugin. Which is an emulation of the famous Abbey Road Studios technique.
You can change the notes length / position in VA manually for that.
Perhaps not too helpful, but Melodyne has an option to slightly randomise pitch and timing of notes precisely for this purpose. It would be nice if Variaudio would include this.
