I installed mine by myself, I used 2 wood clamps, a 2x4 and a glue gun to hold the spacers in place. It took a minute for me to get it all figured out but I got it done. 😁

Thank you! It took a year to get to this point and I couldn't have done it without people like you 👍
So, with the utmost sincerity, I want to thank you (and everyone else) for your support!

Nice video, thanks for making it. That stock tailgate insert has to go, they kill your knees. Check out Mountain hatch. They have a quality style insert you can use as a cutting board, currently 20% off for 4th of July. Easy to install and makes world of difference. Make a video on it. Thanks and Happy Holiday!

A Mountain Hatch insert / cutting board is definitely on the list of future mods, for sure! Thanks for the tip!

Does this thing rattle at all?

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Nope! The hexrack itself is very solid with minimum flex. If you mount something loosely to it, that might be a different story though lol 🤣

Nice work. What do you plan to affix to it?

Honestly, I'm not quite sure just yet lol 😆. The goal is eventually to have 2 different "load-outs" for this molle panel...
One will be for items that would be useful for off-roading adventures and another will be for items that my children can use on long road trips.
One item I'm looking into would be some "walkie-talkie" type radios to have on hand for multiple-car family trips...
I am definitely open to suggestions at this point as I do some research on items to attach to the panel...

I could see a fire extinguisher 🧯 there on a quick release , a flashlight, possibly a recovery shovel or other light weight low profile recovery/off-road items that are easy to grab when needed without having to “dig” them out. Assuming no one will be riding back there when your in off road mode so many items come to mind for me. I think the “go-to” items vary for each person. Look forward to seeing what you do with it. Nice install footage. 👍

Those are all very great ideas 💡👍 I'll definitely look into these items and will make an updated video on how I use this molle panel. Thanks for the advice and support!

I do agree that the installation was a bit annoying. It is easier to do with a 2nd person to help out...
In the end, in order to get the last 2 bolts in, I had to press the middle of the hexrack in towards the roof in order to make it "bow in" so I could line up and thread in the last two bolts.

It's also a bit frustrating that the hexrack didn't come with any instructions or reference any video instructions on TH-cam.
I found Meso Customs instructions on TH-cam, which was helpful... but I still had to figure out some things on my own, which made the install frustrating.
Once installed, the hexrack is great 👍. But I know exactly how you feel trying to install it. You'll definitely need a 2nd set of hands to help hold it while you push up in the middle of the hexrack so that you can thread in the last 2 bolts...
