Classic commemorative coins are my favorite. Thanks for sharing your collection.
Thanks for watching! a LOT more to come so I hope you can check them out.
Collecting these kinds of coins is our only way to travel back in time. It´s amazing!
That’s the best part, isn’t it?
Ah, the Columbian half...the very first coin I ever bought as a young coin collector back in the 60's. And it definitely wasn't MS condition! Thanks, as always Speg, for your vids... greatly appreciated! Take care, be safe and God bless!
That’s gotta be a fun memory!
Awesome , I look forward to this new series of videos
More to come!
As a kid starting a coin collection, I got one of these from my Grandma. Her parents pulled it from circulation and passed it down to her, so it's definitely not in ms condition, but none-the-less, I plan to pass it on to my Grandkids.
Then it’s considered priceless 😊
I got one of these last year here in the UK, very nice coin, I've got a few half dollars now, I love the Kennedy 1964 half dollar.
awesome! Are they tough to find there?
@@Spegtacular No they are easy to get hold of , also got a Peace Dollar coming in the post.
Cost £28 so I would think they are a bit dearer than the US.
Beautiful coin 👍
Beautiful coin , it has the classic look 👍
Yes indeed!
Always interesting, educational, and entertaining. Bravo Zulu
😊 thank you
Can't wait for the next video. 👍🇺🇸
Coming soon!
For younger collectors....those who are still in school writing papers. Think about researching any and / or all of them. If you have to write a paper for your music class, consider the 1936 Cincinnati half dollar. Realize your teacher will probably get a lot of papers on Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven. This will be a new topic (probably a refreshing change at that) for them. They might just sit up and read that paper. THEN, think about submitting that paper to your local coin show as an exhibit. For Civil War ear history, try the "Battle of Gettysburg" again 1936. This is a very educational series. 😊😊
I've bought two from guy and one from his son in St Augustine.
awesome! any high grade?
That is my favorite coin ever produced by the U. S. Mint. I don’t have a slabbed one of it though.
Are there any plans for one in the future?
@@mrsspegtacular6484 I would love to get one but unfortunately I am on disability and can’t Afford it.
As the first US Mint commemorative coin i am a fan of this. I do have a few myself, but not any that are slabs or graded
Are you against the slabs or just haven’t come across one that’s worthy?
@@mrsspegtacular6484 I've just never come across any slabbed expos. But even if I did I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't of picked one up. Only if the price was a deal. I have about 2 or 3 that are raw but could maybe get a low AU grade. For the most part I try to stay away from slabs unless it's something that I really like or could get at a good price or something that I know will appreciate in value over time
@@JimmyLicarigotcha 😊
Try and find the 1892 or 93 in "white" color and it will be a challenge. I was fortunate to find a white 92 coin in MS64 and would love to find a 93.
I need to get back into coins. Been about 6months since the last time I was at a coin store
What’s kept you away?? I agree, you should get back into it 😊
Yes you do!
@@mrsspegtacular6484 guns.. I have a gun collection addiction 😬
Guilty too
Fantastic! I've always been interested in the commemorative coins, since they are "out of the ordinary", yet were still legal tender.
Are the newer commemoratives still legal tender?
Love this coin!
Neat, i picked up a 1893 columbian expo half two days ago.
1892 was the first.
yes it was.
Classic is alway good
We are classic
I would have been very interested in the associated World Fair. My Dad had one of these halves in the collection. It is a raw coin.
Sweet coin.
Very interesting coin
Thanks for watching! Hope to see you on the many more that'll be shown Tuesdays and Thursdays for months!
Ah! Do I understand that you also have the Isabella Quarter, also?
He does 😊
@@mrsspegtacular6484 Cool, it's a choice coin in the commemorative collection, although it's a mere quarter... But without Isabella, there may have been no Columbus!
I see what you mean by a "choice" since it's not part of the half-dollars but I went beyond the half dollars in this set. I added a quarter, a dollar, and a medal ;)
I managed to find 3 of these in a half dollar roll… 2x 1892 and 1x 1893
wait what I thought it was over
You thought WHAT was over?
I am showcasing each coin individually in the set because I feel like showing them all off quickly in a 10 minute video is not something worthy of the entire set.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Thanks for watching!
I have that exact coin but the one I have ,the front of it comes apart in 2 .. why?
Not as many out there as you think. So many melted down and small mintage compared to many other coins.
Wow pricey, that's like 33 bucks in 2023 dollars
oooOOooo
Milking it for the veiws huh lol.
Jk.
Lovely video.
Cant wait to see next.
Thanks for the view
