    Very handy and neat little pouch, I have my 2 youngest grandsons 3 days a week so they have a home from home I have a huge amount of toys both indoor and out in the garden, I’m sure a few of those pouches and the coming up tote will be very useful. They are 3 years and 21 months in age so they have lots of toys that need separating out, time to get my machine set up, thank you 🤗😘❤️

    Hi Whitney - Somehow I wasn’t notified of this one. Glad you mentioned it in the next one.
    I love this little bag. It comes together so easy and it’s really pretty - inside and out. Will be making a few of these for odds and ends. Thanks! Hugs 🤗💕

    I've made a bag like this before and I used french seams - it worked out ok and not too bulky at the zipper ends. I'll try your version next time :)

    Bias tape scares me! I've tried several times to work with it. It doesn't like me!! BUT, I will be attempting this. I'm wondering if you could use a reversible zipper and make the bag reversible.

    • @TheDabblingHook
      @TheDabblingHook 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Whitney_Sews OK I think I'm saying the wrong thing. The tote in the picture is exactly what I want. The zipper is on a separate piece of fabric instead of right on the bag edge.

    Like this technique a lot. Thank you for sharing. Checked your blog and saw the cutting info. However the sizes of bias tapes you used are not included? Is this information in the pattern for $5

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use whatever bias tape you want. The white bias tape is labeled wide double fold bias tape and the pink is labeled extra wide double fold bias tape. You can really just use whatever you have or prefer.

    • @Whitney_Sews

      I have used narrow and wide for this type of bag. Just depends on the look you want. Narrow is a little harder to sew on, but has a nice finished look.wide is easier to sew, but stands out more on the finished bag

    I'm a beginner, was wondering if the zipper can be sewen at the top of the bag Instead of moving it down? Would it still work? Thank you!

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The zipper can't really sit at the top of the bag when sewn this way, but there are definitely other ways to sew zipper bags where the zipper ends up at the top.

  • @Uzmy3
    @Uzmy3 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is beautiful (both the bags, saw the tote bag tutorial first 😋) and I will be making this. The way you attached the bias tape around the raw edges with zipper is great. Just one thing, why you used such a long zipper 🤔😕 an inch longer zipper would have done the job.

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought about 100 zippers for 10 cents each so I'm using what I have on hand. But on this style of bag it does need to be longer though because it's sewn in the round and needs to be opened up wider to get it under the presser foot for top stitching.
