the best one of these that I had was one that had a blacklight with a fan and a tray of soapy water. The blacklight drew the bugs in (from the side), then the fan blew them into the soapy water. It caught hundreds of bugs - not just mosquitos. Downside is that it drew bugs from the whole neighborhood. I can't say it caught mosquitoes cause I was in a hurry when I cleaned it out and did not have time to sort thru the catch jar. It did catch beetles, and moths and other smaller insects.

Glad I watched this as I was going to buy one but if its only caught 7 mosquitoes in 3 days that's not very successful. I wonder though about the grill at bottom, holes seem large enough for standard small ones to escape.
There's a little problem with the LEDs; they don't produce actual UV light. Real uv light has 368 nm wave length, and it can't be seen by human eye, but you can only see it's effects
blue light is visible because many UV lights emit below 400 nm and slightly above (it's a range, not a very precise wavelength), so the real UV lamps actually produce visible (blue/purple) light and UV light.

7 whole mosquitoes in 3 days? Doesn’t seem like it’s attracting them. They could have just happened upon the device
